Welcome to the RPC! My husband has been getting me into D&D, it still feels awkward doing it over a table rather than text with dice rolls, but I will get the hang of it I am sure! Look forward to seeing you in game!

Bright colors is a real new thing I'm doing with Rhynka, so I'm glad it's working out! Having sticky fingers like hers colors cleavage and the works is a nice distraction to mislead while digging through a coin purse!! lol Thank you very much for the kind compliment!
-
Thanks! Incredible is a bit big to say some things could have turned out better I think, but it's nice you think so!!

Yanno! The dancing daggers is not only a high risk game to be gambled on, but it can be used to resolve disputes as well Not sure if this helps!! And with the Rhynka alt I will be playing on Gilgamesh, I hope Amaare's wandering eyes don't get him robbed blind!!! Sticky fingered lady ftw!
-
Thank you! I was going for some kinda moth to a flame type of allure. She's a fiery lady and very attuned to the fire element so of course she's too hot to handle! I put sweat beads on her using a different layer but I didn't like how that looked so took it out.
-
Thank you for the wonderful compliments! @ U'zhan: It's because she can see through U'zhan, and it gives her lotsa ammo to pick on him about! @Yaein: I made her a bit chubbier than the normal miqo'te, a caster/hybrid build as opposed to purely athletic like my alt Diakhan, I intend to do a drawing of Diakhan in the near future.

I actually do better with paper, pen, brushes and some ink wells. With the lack of space where I currently live it provokes too much of a mess to do so... tablet ftw!

Since I've been bit by the creative bug three times in the last month now I decided to make static thread to post any future works. Not sure what you label unsafe for work, but nothing will be nude here so if scant clothing is NSFW just view at your own risk. My latest is a drawing of Rhynka in all her chastised glory, daggers ready to 'dance', with a coin to decide who goes first-Enjoy! "Your call, heads or tails?"~ Rhynka If this image is showing up grainy try this link HERE!

All told, I wasn't involved in that debacle at all, but I read the whole thing. You yourself don't appear to me to be the one who got inflammatory. I don't know if you should be apologizing for both you and Rhynka, especially if you're not sure what was said that made things in that last thread go so pear-shaped. I guess us sitting right down next to each other to word the part of the post you just quoted wasn't enough? We're not just an IC couple, we are married IRL and we saw no reason to copy and paste the same statement into two different posts by two different users on the forums. Sorry if you missed that somewhere or not, but just about everything we do online (And off) we do as a team seeing as we represent not just ourselves but us as husband and wife as well. And if you weren't part of it or insulted, I don't understand why you're giving your input at all except to try provoking something we're trying to let die. If someone went at someone you loved IRL and called them "Boring" would you go back at them too or just let it happen? It still doesn't justify my behavior at all and I am sorry for insulting you, it was a knee jerk reaction in response to your remark toward Razamir. I'm pretty sure you are speaking toward me. While I promised my husband, Razamir I wouldn't post on these threads again unless it is to submit a creative work of my own to the IC sections of the RPC forums... He's at work and can't stop me. My husband often takes the reigns in many situations IRL or online to advocate on my part as well as his if needed because of my condition. I doubt any of this is important to state since it seems you will pick back at it just as you have the earnest apology we've both made. (When it was made toward Callipygian, and Kyatai because those were the two directly insulted, not you Zyrusticae.) I guess I'll apologize for disturbing whatever I did with you, but please don't expect a response, I am done making my husband look bad, mmk? That said, thank you very much to those who did accept our apology. If Razamir were next to me right now I'm sure he would want to say the same! As promised, I'm not posting any further opinions on these forums again, and I ask others not bring me up to my husband in such a tone again. It's human nature he'd want to defend me, so I cut in before he could. Happy RPs for all... Peace!

This would totally be Diakhan's song. 1ckuXx64abc

She was having a hard time explaining what she meant, her second post may clear things up some. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=3044&pid=37410#pid37410

Desphiria mentioned to me the other night that her character doesn't see well, mostly outlines and shapes. I suggested making a keeper with seeker skin and hair color themes because the Keeper's eyes have a very transparent pupil it could make her model look blind as she wants to imply. It's an aesthetic difference and considering a seeker's eyes shouldn't look that way it could suggest blindness.

Miqo’te Mating Strategies Explored: a biologist’s point of view
Rhynka replied to Myxie Tryxle's topic in Lore Discussion
It does seem though that both me and my husband have been making others feel insulted while trying to prove an initial point. The point wasn't the realism, lore, or trying to say miqo'te are all sluts! I plan to play a tribal miqo'te trying to adapt to city life. I've had to take a lot more into account than just how they make babies. I've seen other miqo'te culture threads turn into miqo'te breeding threads cause it's the most fascinating to the majority I guess. Mostly it occurs in skype chat with these discussions. It seems to be the main focus of their culture. It also has been mapped clear enough by SE, there's little need for that kind of detail unless that is the main focus of what you want to play. Not saying it's good or bad, just saying it looks bad and perpetuates that bad stigma on anthro style RP and the people who play them. The point we've wanted to make here is that it feels as if all this community cares about is breeding. You bring up anything else given by SE and backed with RL facts just like she did and it's shot down as boring, moddish, and well now "Unreasonable". Here are some things I've had to consider when making Rhynka and trying to tune the story of her origins. -The miqo'te have a language all their own unable to be spoken by anyone outside of their race. Hence she speaks with an accent. -When the miqo'te came to Eorzea they found Eorzea had 26 letters in their alphabet coinciding with the 26 tribes. They felt it was destiny to be part of Eorzea then. -Rhynka wasn't born in her clan, she was brought there by a mother that died shortly after. She had no bloodline connection so yes, it made her quite coveted to remain to prevent inbreeding. -Interesting tidbit about Razamir's past is that his mother did beg for his life when the new nunh took over because he had off colored eyes which is a sign of greatness in an individual to the seekers. A superstitious seeker mom would be proud and see him as a hero to be of sorts if you catch my drift. -Razamir had to challenge the current nunh because he wanted to take Rhynka when he left and her being new blood to the tribe wasn't going to fly at all with the current nunh. He almost died in this encounter. -Rhynka and Razamir are by no means monogamous, but sex and love are two seperate things. They love each other but that means nothing when it comes sex with others. She does save her womb to bear his children only, which is strictly a cultural choice. Have I taken into consideration the so called 'breeding strategies'? Yes, I have very much so, but it was easy enough to do with elementary level education on lions, and the stuff SE posted about the miqo'te as well as bits found in NPC texts during 1.0. I don't feel the need to sit and focus hard on this one aspect as it wasn't that complicated. Things that are such as the result of selective reproduction I have had to think more on and my results will most likely be shot down in favor of more 'popular' lore I suppose. The only point we've tried to make here is people are glorifying and making important something that's only a small aspect of miqo'te culture, and when other ideas are brought forth they're shot down cause they're not as appealing. The responses we've gotten are proof enough, so carry on an pick apart what I've said I won't be posting in this thread again. -
Miqo’te Mating Strategies Explored: a biologist’s point of view
Rhynka replied to Myxie Tryxle's topic in Lore Discussion
It isn't unreasonable, considering the info you gave about lion prides I knew when I was still in elementary school I have to question if you're really a biologist. "the fact that bloodhounds are the result of 1000 years of artificial selection by humans" Okay, so you're saying the miqo'te are too damn dumb to do that with their own bloodlines? Are you saying they're just mindless cats who wouldn't selectively pick the fastest, strongest, most capable, and adaptive traits to pass on considering how they keep track of their bloodlines? so then, given humans aren't mindless monkeys, why aren't we all Mesomorphs when that is the strongest, most capable and adaptive trait to have? surely we, as a species with a high intelect, would pick that trait to breed into ourselves? I don't know where that bullshit statement came from, but humans don't do what she is suggesting the miqo'te do. I doubt they do this with as rigorous planning as the OP suggests. I'm also sure if government agencies and other forms of authority had their way, yes they would love to attempt breeding the best out of the best with humanity. But guess what, ALL of us don't pick who we bump uglies with according to what you stated. In fact what a human being desires in a life lover is so different and varying from person to person, NO we wouldn't see that happening unless you robbed all of their free ability to choose. She is suggesting the miqo'te are on the level of wild cats, lions to be exact. Well she used house cats for the scent argument (Funny how the provisions change to snuff out boring concepts!) But combine the lion pride set up and this "Cultural" difference about 'breeding' and mix it with human intelligence that the miqo'te do have. I'm sure a city miqo'te may have no such distinct traits and may not be as up to snuff as a tribal one (Due to bloodlines-yes!) but to say it's unreasonable is a flimsy argument that the OP nullifies herself with the entire purpose of her thread. BREED FOR THE BEST! -

Are you saying they're just mindless cats who wouldn't selectively pick the fastest, strongest, most capable, and adaptive traits to pass on considering how they keep track of their bloodlines? Also when breeding hounds, honey it doesn't take long before you notice physical differences if you know what you're doing. Here's a small example. In fact it's just 5 generations down picking the most docile in a liter of foxes before you don't just see their temperament change in the line but you also begin to see physical changes, such as tails curling and floppy ears as well as awkward colors not even native to the species. Yeah, this is with foxes, not hounds, but I think I got my point across that with sentient help it's not unreasonable. I'm pretty sure the miqo'te could figure it out if it's a desirable trait they want to keep in their descendents. So saying it's unreasonable also negates your entire statement about selective breeding. I think it's not that it's unreasonable, but it's just not interesting and boring as one of the individuals mentioned in here. Oh and as an after thought, don't compare to measly house cats, compare to a lion or tiger that has to live off it's sense of smell to hunt, or even FIND other females in the wild. -
Miqo’te Mating Strategies Explored: a biologist’s point of view
Rhynka replied to Myxie Tryxle's topic in Lore Discussion
Tell us how you really feel about it! Because I can only see in your statement that talking about sex with miqo'te is the only thing that must not be BORING! Wanna talk miqo'te penis then...? What if SE some how announced sex was painful for the miqo'te. It'd make sense seeing as if they had an endless desire to screw like humans, with the social structure they have they'd breed themselves into extinction!! Let's not lie here honey, the idea that someone such as myself plays the beastly aspect of a miqo'te that can track like a blood hound is bothersome because that might actually make a real RP challenge. Cause RP is actually supposed to be based off adventures of some kind, not the kind you take after you leave the bar through some guy's bush in his trousers. It's boring to you cause you're interested in this tribal aspect that could easily start turning into some distorted BDSM mutation of it that it never needed to be! You wanna set them apart from humans, let's make mating PAINFUL! You wanna set them apart from humans, dabble in their heightened senses. I mean that could be easily said IC about the ways of that world in general. We can even apply it to the nunh obsession! "Gettin' snuggly with a Nunh's favorite is asking for a maiming as he'll smell your hands all over her!" And well since we're getting so biological on the idea!!!! Let's talk that kinda nature science and the fact that a trail goes cold to a blood hound after 300 hours that's about 12 and a half DAYS! Yes we can wash and so on but there are things WE can't smell that doesn't wash off which a miqo easily could detect... oh but I forgot that's boring!! BUT it isn't making them out to be just hyurs with ears and a tail!! Yet it's still boring, sorry! So let's talk sex then instead since anything else could be boring! Cause I'm not calling it mating it's just a word being thrown around this thread to water down the real important subject here-MIQO SEX! I also wanna avoid using the term "Breeding" because it just sounds demeaning when referring to a sentient species. And about meta-gaming, how meta gaming is it when a player with a nunh wants to challenge another simply because they like how one of their females look OoCly. Don't say it doesn't happen cause it happens all the god damn time and I've RPed for over a decade and have seen whole communities crumble to nothing but cybering when obsessing over lore aspects like this. (Not gonna call it ERP cause it's not ERP if there's little IC motivation!) -
((I decided to start a thread to keep an archive of sorts of the stories Rhynka tells in RP. As a bard I hope to do much of this randomly or at an event if requested to. Keeping track will also help keep me organized on stories she's told, when and where they were told and the content of the story! Some of these may get very long and I have edited away any OoC chatter. I do not proof read over the logs as I want them unaltered as possible!))

A miqo alliance sounds nice. To do, since the LS I want to try getting up will accept people despite race or origin I actually want to have a free company ICly supplemented by the ragtag group. Both LS and free company I want to do a LOT of field RP with. And well the free company will also be more involved with high level stuff where as the LS would focus more on 1-50 crafting, gathering and not so heavy group reliant stuff. The LS is more to help people get from 1-50 and ready where as the FC is more to help with end game type stuff. The free company is going to be called The Syn Seekers. Unfortunately it will be racially discriminate but it's not to say LS members can't join if spots are needed to be filled in an event. Once again, I intend to incorporate a LOT of field RP into both, I and Razamir enjoy field or out of town RP more than tavern/city RP.

Rhynka was raised by the raptor tribe. It doesn't mean EVERYONE who'd be part of it lives in the same group. With Seekers there can be 20 or more females to 1 nunh, and at times a very large tribe with enough miqo and hunting territory can have more than 1 nunh while still belonging to the same tribe. Raz and Rhynka gave their old tribe the finger so to speak after a challenge won by Raz was not honored. With a few of those unwanted by the others anyway, Razamir and Rhynka left. They are now nomadic, Raz's other females are played by me as NPCs save for an alt of mine that roams with them. Rhynka and Razamir will be picking up tag alongs (Which I plan to make a linkpearl for an OoC and IC one.) all of this would be done IC. Having parted from many of their traditions they have the outlook that tradition should be honored but not rule one's destiny. As Rhynka mainly looks for wayward seekers and keepers she is not above taking in anyone regardless of race who desperately needs it. She's kind of adopted a little brother so far, U'zhan. After release I hope that she finds more in her travels. I have no intention to mass recruit, ever. A smaller LS is fine with me. OoCly I intend it to be a group for those who may want to play tribal miqo but may feel awkward about some of the traditions and customs involved. One example is a fight between nunh is a fight to the death in most situations. Hence the motto there about traditions honored but not a ruling factor. Anyone curious about more is welcome to PM me with questions. I don't want to make a massive post in the thread. "There are tia within the 26 existing tribes who, instead of defeating an existing nunh, prove their worth to the tribe by extending its hunting grounds. These tia will venture out into the world and claim territory of their own (by either finding somewhere unoccupied, or taking an area by force from another tribe). If they can maintain it for an extended period of time, then they become the nunh of that area, while still remaining a member of their original tribe." People can still be from THE original tribe as tribes large enough can split amongst more than 1 nunh to cover more hunting territory. Fernehawles was quoted on this in the lodestone forums. Saying one person heads all these branches would be a bit much though but on could be part of the main sect and had broken off to roam with another branch.

xzSq-q0_YG4 This would have to be Rhynka all over. Spiced, Iced, and Smooth all around.

I love the sky in this picture. I can't wait to see your character again in open beta!! I believe, or hope this will be the final revamp of Rhynka. It's the only version I didn't cringe at during certain CSes or RPs. Here is before... Believe it or not she's actually smiling at poor U'zhan. No wonder he's so jumpy around her! Here is an after like 6 tries to tone down the bitchy glare shot. I think I did a good job keeping the slant eyes and making her look less upset with everything she looks upon. Input is very welcomed here, tell me what you think peoples!!

Could be something similar like in FFXI, Ulmia knew a song of utter importance. If I remember correctly it dealt with the goddess and getting into the area you'd need access to for sea. I can't remember quite clearly, so don't quote me on it. But it could be a reflection similar to that.

To be honest the opening sounds like a prayer of desperation. The first verse by Susan sounds like a deities response. The next time she sings sounds like a call out to the twelve. The last is the answer. Not sure what in game lore type of importance it has, I was listening to it while I wrote the story I posted tonight for my character that took place during that time. Of course it inspired certain words similar in nature of the song's lyrics to craft the imagery in the story I wrote. Perhaps it's the crystals call we are hearing?

I look forward to getting to know more peeps from Gilgamesh, as I will be jumbling back and fourth between both servers for probably the next year or more before settling on a permanent home!
