  1. Two restarts would definitely be reasonable if this is the route that they're going to be taking from here on. 1.4k queue when I got home. I'll keep an eye on it as I'm cooking.
  2. I'm low key worried that because I work later than the general work day in the US that I will be greeted by the same multithousand queue we've always had because everyone else will already be logged back in. I'm a dirty queue dodger and I won't even try and hide it. I work full time and run my own side business. I'm not waiting for three to four hours in a queue after a full day of work so I can log in and then immediately log out and go to bed.
  3. What up RPC! This is like, my third 'I'm returning topic' at this point, and I'd wager most of my posts now are in these topics. Anyway -- I played Rendal Galenford in the beta, E'rinha Tia during 2.0 - 3.0, Ashuram Dotharl, and now I'm rocking that catboy look again as Ashu'ram Raha (But I'm debating whether I will go back to being a lizard). I'm on Balmung. Always have been, always will be. I'm a midcore raider, light roleplayer looking for a community to latch onto. I love XIV; far and away my favorite MMO on the market right now, but I never seem to stick around. Reason being, I suspect, is that I've never found a community. Anyway, looking forward to seeing who is still around, who's left, and meeting people excited for that crazy crazy period of time called early access.
  4. I can vouch for this dude. Solid prices, great artwork, and very reliable communications. It's just too bad he plays Dragoon.
  5. i172 as of right now. Cleared the first round of Alexander through the DF. Fight's almost sleepwalk easy. Biggest problem I've seen with it through the DF so far is hitting enrage timers. Haven't touched the second round yet -- trying to win a chain so I can snag a belt before I move on. Do we need me to switch tank jobs? I'm having fun with DRK atm but I can bumrush PLD or WAR to 60 if we need something else.
  6. I saw your /tell the other night, Meena. I think I responded but I'm not sure; last night was a bit hazy for me. I currently have DRK at i166, going to push for a full i180 before next week. However! I'm leveling WAR on the side, and am willing to tank with either it or PLD once I get that one leveled too. I'm going to move onto healers (probably AST/WHM) after that. And finally then DPS so I can cover any role that would be needed. I miss raiding. I miss progression.
  7. I've a post earlier in the thread, but now that Heavensward is out, and I've had some more thought put into the idea, I present: Dhunan, of the Dotharl: it's always the quiet ones who snap. Violent, even for his clan, Dhunan was born into massacre. His mother died in childbirth and his father was slain months later in a night raid on his tribe, leaving him to grow up quiet and mean and leave the tribe at a young age -- a pile of bodies following him. Very few are aware of just how much malice festers inside of him. He's also prone to a serious case of crazy eyes. Maybe that's why he wears that weird helm all the time. A Dotharl roleplayer, coming to a location near you! Very heavily inspired by Berserk, as I suspect a lot of us are in some way or another.
  8. Bit of an update: hit 60 early this morning. Did some hunts, working on finishing the MSQ to unlock everything and get the roulettes rolling in.
  9. Hey hey hey! I'm always down for end game statics! I'm Dhunan Dotharl in-game, and I've got a 58 DRK, which I plan to push to 60 this weekend, and hopefully get those nasty DRK bugs fixed so I can gear right up this weekend. I also plan to level the other two tanks, and at least one healer class, and a melee DPS. I raided in a progression, server-first pushing guild in WoW for six years. I've tanked, heal'd and DPS'd. Though I was mainly a tank healing paladin scum. I love end game but I didn't really catch the 2.0 train, and am definitely always down to tank or heal or dps it with people who are likewise interested in clearing it. That said, I enjoy raiding with people who are fun to play with over the bleeding edge style players. I've had enough of a raid leader yelling at me for a few hours every night. Hit me up!
  10. Having just hit 58 last night, I am definitely not 60 yet, so I can't confirm or deny the rumors that DRK is currently sort of 'middle of the road' when it comes to tanking. I can say that our aoe aggro generation is insane; unleash is spectacular, doesn't interrupt combos, and is occasionally free to cast. Once you get abyssal drain, things get even more fun. Those big packs are now HP batteries for you to slurp up. MP drain is an issue -- but for smaller pulls, you don't need to even use your aggro generating combo usually, and are free to siphoning strike to your heart's content. In big pulls, blood price is your savior, and basically makes your MP infinite for its duration. Rotating cooldowns, (even the bad ones like shadow wall. Eugh.) and self-heals means we're fairly hard to put down, even if living dead is kind of a buggy mess at the moment. Our DPS seems on par with warrior, if slightly lower; they have more burst, and I can see them being taken over us for OT in hardline content, like pushing phases in Bismark Ex. Our mitigation is slightly lower than paladin, from what I've noticed. Reprisal is a damn fine skill when we can use it, which means we want to get hit, which means, we're probably better as main tanks than off. And Scourge is the best god damn dot effect tanks have access to. It certainly makes fracture weep. Sole survivor is nice on trash, but otherwise fairly useless. And don't even get me started on plunge. I love that skill to death. Biggest issue atm, for me, isn't fucking up my MP and ending up with no way to hold hate, but rather, hitting the TP floor fairly fast. If you're OTing then you can spam unmend to let it recover. As for rotations, abyssal drain if there are more than three mobs, otherwise unleashed twice (with blood price up) and then salted earth once everything is situated keeps me fairly well. Then I'll tab through and use the siphoning strike combo to maintain MP. Darkside should always be up. There's no reason not to have it running constantly -- MP regen is not an issue as it stands right now. Single target, naturally you want to keep scourge up, and then I could see using the aggro combo to start off with, but frankly, I haven't had an issue. Generally I open with plunge over unmend just because I am fucken crazy about that skill. And since salted earth is ogcd, it will always be an DPS gain to weave it in between skills. Keep that fucker ticking. Otherwise, yes, spooky paladin is best paladin.
  11. So uh, the Baron Helm looks really good with the level 58 tanking gear. ear.
  12. Fought 2002 errors until they gave up. Now I'm sitting in the never ending queue. It was at 400 something before it kicked me the first time. Now it's 35 and been sitting at 35 for a solid twenty minutes. Data center, please.
  13. Why oh why did I stop playing to make myself some food and hang out with roommates? 2002 as far as the eye can see.
  14. With Heavensward EA in full swing, I thought I'd post up a bit of remembrance. I don't post a lot here, and I only recently got back into the game. I still fondly remember beta phase 1 and everything that came with it. I've met a few people in XIV. Some have stayed, some have gone. As people tend to do. I had to dig in the first couple of pages of this thread for this one. But E'rinha back in phase 2. Sporting his initial lion look: Then came the Snow bandana, and everything changed: When I returned after my long break I decided to alter him a bit before Heavensward, and he came out looking like a mildly jrock villain: And finally: He's a lot less photogenic after everything has been said and done. Wonder what Heavensward has got in store for us.
  15. I get up to stretch, make some tea, and grab a bite to tea, and come back to lobby errors. Okay, now that's just vindictive, data center.
