Use to RP on Balmung then got busy with life and went back to Faerie for a bit. I since then have an itch to RP again and was wondering where is the best place to make contacts instead of here of course. I dont have much detail on my character yet and was planning to develop him as I went. Was reading the forums and saw this was a more friendly community and I am a bit shy when it comes to initiating rp. I am afraid that I am going to step on someones toes. Edit: My ign is Jonathan Landale. The type of character I am thinking of rping is a freelancer/wanderer. He enjoys taking in the views of hydaelyn and would do anything to see it at peace even though he knows their is now such thing as peace coming to pass any time soon. He is rather naive and often says stuff truthfully even though he more than likely should not. In terms of how he earns money it depends on the situation and what the closest residence are in need of so it varies. That is pretty much a very basic summary of what I have plan. I want to develop the character more through rp and of course everything is subject to change.

I. Basic Info Characters: Balther Strongblade Primary character: Balther Strongblade Linkshells: Starfall (basically just free company ones) Primary RP linkshell: None II. RP Style [*] Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium-Heavy. I am normally IC. If I am not I will normally send a tell stating I am not. An easy way to tell is if I have current content armor on I am probably OOC. Views on RP combat and injuries: I like rolls in bigger groups. One on one it can be whatever as long as you both are on the same page. I dont mind injuries as long as they are losing limbs and such. Views on IC romance: Well I dont mind it Balther is married after all. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Has a family but does not get along with them for various IC reasons. Personally I dont mind having family in game if I could find good people to RP it. Views on lore: I stick to the lore. I have seen many go off the lore and it seems that ICly they were way to powerful, or the Grand Companies would of arrested them already. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I like how my FC has it set up right now. We have a linkshell for ooc and one for ic. It works out very well like that. In say I dont mind how people emote and such we all have our ways we like to do things. I do prefer "" though so I know they are talking IC at least. III. Balther Strongblade is an adventurer who has traveled around Eorzea for quite some time. He has however ran low on funds and most of the time struggles to get to the next town. The need for gil has made him become somewhat of a mercenary. However do not ask him to do anything involving politics unless you plan to give him a hefty sum. Often hanging around the taverns listening closely to the residents gossiping about potential jobs. When he is not on a job he likes to take in the local scenery. He is looking for a Free Company to join eventually due to finding the struggles of what he wants to achieve hard to do alone. (Sorry for such little information new to rp in FF14 and my character is still in progress)

Ah. Is there anyway to tag yourself as role playing. I am thinking there is not but I dont know all the /commands of FF14. I learn new ones every day it would seem.

I recently just used world transfer to go to Balmung because I missed role playing. I use to role play a lot in Lord of the Rings online and just had an itch to try it in Final Fantasy 14. Is there a lot of random RP in this or is it better to find a Free Company for it? I kind of wanted to get my feet wet before I joined a free company and get a grasp on my character.
