So let's say you have a fairly large LS (or FC) on your hands. It's great, people are pretty chill OOC, but the focus of your group is supposed to be IC -- and even further, the IC focus of the group is supposed to be tailored toward dark-themed, more plot-based roleplay. But all people ever want to do are tavern nights and social/slice of life RP. You plan a lot if stuff but very few members consistently show up, and when you do get a large turnout it's because you've employed aid from the sacred deities of Literal Bribery, offering gil prizes for, essentially, being lucky. Even that event turns out to be a miserable experience, and you're getting really tired of planning vapid social events for something that's not supposed to be socially-oriented, but rather something oriented around people networking IC, creating underground connections and taking jobs. But all of your mercenaries, all your information brokers, roughly half of your "syndicate leaders," your transporters, your assassins, your thieves... All they wanna do is drink and party. Maybe the alcohol is occasionally illegal, but the style of RP that they bring to the table conflicts pretty heavily with what you wanted out of the LS when you started it. There's nothing inherently bad with socials... until it's all you're getting, when you expected a lot more, and it's just the same people over and over. The ones who aren't whacking themselves off over a glass of wine are dead silent and, more than likely, have been since day one -- both IC and OOC. It's embarrassing, and if it makes you feel cheated as the leader, you can only imagine how some of your members must be feeling. So, you toss a plotline out there. Not one too big -- a fairly open-ended arc that gives people the chance to strut their stuff since it's framed as a job. And... No one breathes a word to you about it; no questions about the structure or the systems to be used and certainly no expressions of interest (though maybe an unsolicited excuse about "well this character wouldn't do that, and this one would need a lot of convincing!"). But damn, people sure are intent on advertising their socials/tavern nights that aren't even run by a character who's even involved with the group, with little regard as to whether it's actually a good time or place for that kind of thing. At this point it's clear that even if people are involved... They're not really engaged. There's a lot of people you just get radio static from, regardless of whether they're there IC or not. Nobody is really a go-getter except you and your officers. So to round off this hypothetical (which if you read this far without figuring out it wasn't actually a hypothetical... Uh, it's not a hypothetical?) with some more pointed questions: How do you go about getting people engaged, in general? How do you go about getting people more involved with the story-based side of RP that you intended for a group from the beginning? Be it with planning stuff of their own or getting them involved with stuff that the leadership organizes? How do you #StopTheSocials 2k17? Part of me is concerned it's just that the storyline I have planned isn't terribly interesting, but something tells me it's more a matter of most people already being tuned out. Efforts to try and steer the group on my authority as the leader have yet to produce results, but that's mostly because I put them pretty much into effect yesterday; still, the fact that no one is willing to help step up to the plate and plan stuff besides me (and my officers, but they know what their responsibilities are...) is somewhat very worrying. Part of me is additionally concerned that this just happens to be a pitfall of "crime-based" RP on Balmung, seeing as the culture of the server seems very much tailored more toward the exact sort of slice-of-life RP that I hate, so even people that write criminal characters more or less just use it as a background detail to keep their character from falling into the trap of being Lawful/Neutral/Chaotic Good because OH YEAH HE'S TOTALLY AN INFORMATION BROKER HE DOES TONS OF SUPER ILLEGAL STUFF ALL THE TIME GUYS. Or at least given the fact that it's impossible to get my group to do anything short of drink and party (when they do that)... It sure feels that way. There's nothing wrong with social RP, of course, (of course even as I say that I roll my eyes and cringe) it's more a question of -- how do I get things going on the right track again, and get people involved with the kind of vision I had for the LS going into it? Get people engaged and planning stuff with others? Engaged and participating in things, even if it's just from the fringes to provide commentary? And when all else fails, how do you go about starting to trim the fat?

Going into the New Year, some things are actually going to be changing, as per issues that I and my officer team have identified given feedback from some members and a brief moment of retrospection of what the goal and theme of the LS has been meant to be since the beginning. In an effort to steer the LS in a more serious direction, we are going to start planning more serious events going into 2017. While socials are well and good, they get stale quickly, and when that’s all there is. Needless to say, Ebonguard will soon be offering things akin to job opportunities to its members both over the linkshell lines and through clearly-endorsed outside means. In order to facilitate this, we will be expanding our Officer team in order to include people who want to dedicate some time toward planning events for our LS and collaborating in order to put together a story arc for the LS. These officers will carry the title of ‘Organizer’ (tentatively). There are no qualifications necessary to be an Organizer; even people who have only just joined are welcome to become one so long as they’re willing to step up to the plate and help plan things and get people involved. (Some concepts that the officer team is already toying with in terms of jobs include: bounties (deserved or no) and heists, but we need more brainpower and hands on deck.) We are also putting into place some changes regarding our recruitment process. Because Ebonguard is lore-wise not a formal organization, prior to 2017 we had no IC screening. The standard to pass this will likely be somewhat low, but we’re going to start doing something like that for our new recruits -- this can be handled by any member of the LS as long as it’s logged and sent to an officer. In short, applicants must now be played into the LS. This extra step in our application process is meant to not only make sure that new members of the LS are characters that will mesh well with the LS both in terms of concept and member base, but provide new recruits with a hook into the network in the form of pre-forged connections and perhaps motivation with regards to a job. For people in strange time zones, we’re also open to simply planning out how this happens and leaving the actual RP to be implied or happen at a later date. The invitation for this to be done with people who are already members has also been extended. Please look forward to it!

This Friday, we send off the old year... Probably with a bang, because we're a band of filthy pyromaniacs and what's a party without some fireworks. There will be a raffle and a little contest of talent with might and magic going, but that stuff is members-only. (But hey... Peanut galleries are always welcome. Maybe welcome with the threat of becoming a firework, but welcome nonetheless.) We're also looking forward to getting some plot lines going among our members, which is obviously a members thing to discuss - but hey, anything for fun pictures and good screencaps! I'd say do it for the Vine, but Vine doesn't exist in Eorzea, and also it got/is getting shut down... Oh, I made myself sad. Event details here! Also, updated the OP to bring it up to date for the new year, which means we finally have a new little banner at the top and... That's pretty much it. Oh, and I made the thread title allcaps because that's how it's stylized almost everywhere else (fun fact though: the eorzean script that I use for all of our official event flyer things is NOT in all caps... But only because I feel like it looks better cased normally). All of the content is the same pretty much word-for-word, but I split off our list of kind and benevolent officers into its own tab. At the time of this posting, that kind and benevolent officer team consists of Itara Irispyre, Edda Vincents, and Ma'sae Pohju, (and me) and I'd certainly love to take a moment in this post to give them a shout-out because hey, they're great. Ebonguard is possible because of our officers and members, after all! (Image taken on Christmas Day; usually around 20 of us are online at peak hours.) That's all I have for now; there probably won't be another post until the new year because... Well, there's like a week - no, less - left in 2016. So, see you in 2017, where we still won't guarantee a refund... But, you know, I heard that Black is Back. (That was a very lame attempt at Please Look Forward To It/Foreshadowing but I'm not sorry.)

In an effort to somewhat combat the holiday lull and lent the use of the Artifice of Reason's FC house, Ebonguard took a bit of time to get festive! Happy Starlight, everyone -- though in this case we used it as less a chance to make merry and spread cheer and give gifts than a chance to get together and drink ourselves half to death. Moonshine that Eight brings along is always strong stuff. Provided good graces, we'll likely make use of the space again for a (more/less/drunker) official Heavensturn meetup! Please look forward to it.

balmung Leonnaux Altoix +1 (Zaviire's Characters)
zaviire replied to zaviire's topic in Player Directory
Cleaned up... Everything wow this got really dusty really quick. Added contact information also. More in-depth information about my characters given in the post proper now, though it's technically just the first paragraph or few paragraphs from their wiki pages copy/pasted. Made the answers for various things pretaining to RP style a bit clearer! Percival's tumblr is still technically on semi-hiatus but that's mostly because I can't get off my ass to change the blog status in the title but I am, for all intents and purposes, around to RP her on tumblr. Obviously found an FC for my Duskwight between July and December; some plot things have changed in status so I'll be making a new Connections thread shortly/eventually. Readded Edda. Removing her was a mistake, oh god-- -
We'd love to hear from you! There's always room for more company! Speaking of company, we have quite a few get-togethers planned for the month of December! Our meet-up on the 18th went swimmingly, with everyone in attendance happy in part because Crow was kind enough to pay for drinks. What a kind man. Unfortunately he is now also a poor man... Well, or at the very least poor enough that he has something to complain about. Many members of Ebonguard also attended the Black Lotus's Black Market, but I've yet to see any screencaps crop up. Anyway, on with the main things! First and foremost, one of our officers, Itara Irispyre, has so kindly created a speakeasy for us to use, which is having its grand opening on the 30th! There's some information on it here, but needless to say that Ebonguard certainly knows why the number 7 is so lucky... And a rather interesting cast of characters is already sure to assemble. Personal recommendation: The Choking Crow drink sounds good, and no I'm definitely not saying that because it was named for Ebonguard's illustrious and arrogant "leader." There was a soft opening for it on the 3rd as well that went swimmingly, and even up to recently, there has been some mischief in its halls! On top of that, we have some rather nebulous events planned for December 8th, December 16th, and December 31st. There's also another event that we're working on, but it depends heavily upon how other things pan out -- needless to say that when the details are sorted, they'll be posted up here, and insofar as the more public events of ours go, I'll certainly start trying to put them on the calender! Stay tuned for fun and games and mischief!
-
Our second meet-up has been officially planned, details and all! Well, insofar as things I planned. One of our officers, Itara Irispyre also has an event planned for us -- two! A soft opening for a small speakeasy she created for us, and then the grand opening on November 3rd and 30th respectively. Information on that one over here: link! Needless to say we have a lot of stuff to do, and if you wanna get a feel for the group before you send in an application, then I can think of no better way than to drop in on one of our meet-ups. Also, we cleaned up the rules to prevent any nasty misunderstandings; a lot of the rules were redundant so we managed to mish-mash them together until only the best four remained! They're up in the main post, but I'll put them here in spoilers for convenience as well.
-
Please look forward to it. The location, date, and time have already been settled on, but some finer details of these business relations still need to be ironed out. Given the nature of Ebonguard and given that we like to plan these things for public spaces, we can't exactly stop anyone from tagging along out of curiosity... In addition, Ebonguard is seeking venues kind enough to offer the space to us so we can do some shady dealings.
-
Come in close. Closer. Because the more you think you see...

I went ahead and selected officers early because I needed the extra help; warm welcome to Itara Irispyre, P’ianthe Aliapoh, and Evelyn Koizumi as part of our team! This position has no IC significance whatsoever, but as part of their officerly responsibilities they implicitly consent to be contacted in-game if you have any questions about joining the LS and I’m not available for whatever reason. The decision was made based on the content of their officer applications and how engaged they’ve been with the LS. The officer team is subject to grow or change at any time, as officers are absolutely free to step down, just as I’m free to dismiss them from their position of responsibility or appoint new ones to join them. ♥ Our event on 10/5 was also just as much of a blast as anticipated; many members of the LS were there along with a few non-members! Lots of fireworks to go around, but we were too spread out so I couldn’t get any good screencaps on my shite graphics settings, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. (I mean, I definitely took screencaps... But they weren't great so I didn't bother putting them through Photoshop.)

As the leader and currently-only officer of Ebonguard I’d just like to say I’m astonished and proud of how much interest this has garnered, so to those who are members and are following this blog or those who are following this blog and are still on the fence about joining, I offer this: I highly encourage the use of Ebonguard as an “organization” (which it’s less of an organization and more of a like-minded group of individuals… Lore-wise, there’s no true leader and it’s kind of anarchy so you know!) in plots and other things; plotlines are a nifty way to get everyone up and raring to RP. I’ll leave it up to individuals whether they want to be involved with any specific plotline but using the LS as a device or some-such is definitely encouraged! I’d also like to note, with some recent applications we’ve received (that were all accepted!): it’s much easier to use the alternative contact methods listed for you if you list your usernames. I can use any Discord names provided to invite you to the Discord if I send a friend request first, but it’s much easier and it keeps my DM list clean and keep my follow-ups professional if I have something like a Tumblr URL or RPC username to contact you with! And finally, I've started up a search for officers, extended to members of the LS. There's no real base requirement except for being a member and having a desire to help out! Officers will be chosen on October 12 after 3:00 PM CST, so keep an eye out for any new names you can contact to learn about or get an invite into the Linkshell and Discord! (I say as EVERYONE has invitation privileges because no one has abused it and it fits in with the theme/lore of the LS but hey.)

We of Ebonguard are going to be blowing some stuff up with ceruleum and firesand at Nophica’s wells on Wednesday, October 5th at 8PM CST(6PM PST/7PM MST/9PM EST). Why? Because we can, and some men just want to watch the world burn. This escapade is going to be open to the public, of course, but what's the fun if we keep all of the ceruleum tanks and fireworks to ourselves? Like/Follow/Subscribe for more High-Quality, Borderline Pyromanic Content. As a group we've got our quirks but that's what makes us lovable. By some definition probably. Tumblr post features an IC pitch; will potentially be providing more details as the date approaches! ❤

Hey there; we (or... I) are in the process of planning a little thing for our first "event". It’ll be a meet-and-greet for members and potentially non-members. It will be done somewhere public and isn’t necessarily a formal event so much as a chance to RP together and get to know each other IC better, and the location is still a bit up in the air. (We might end up dropping in on some tavern night or another such RP event going on, since nothing explicitly illegal should be happening at this point; more or less it'll be less an LS thing and more a "we are travelling in a pack at the moment" thing.) The earliest it would probably happen is September 18th, while the latest estimates could push it all the way back into October so that we can have it be themed like something spooky, but the exact details are still being panned out. It basically boils down to whenever is most convenient for the most members. But the important part is that it's happening, right? Hue. It's important to try and get RP going; we're still pretty small but we're growing and we've got a few interesting characters in our midst!

They have changed banners and names ceaselessly over the years, each as inevitably fleeting as the last. No name is or was particularly memorable and what name was used to refer to the network as a whole, in the times of the Old Guard, was an easy way to tell what faction someone belonged to. Divided, united, the network once burgeoned and and thrived in the various sects of the Eorzean underworld. With no central authority and no one willing to step in to claim the mantle of ‘leader’ – perhaps simply because more people liked having no central authority or rules that they had to obey – it allowed room for all sorts of people to gain access to the network. Mob bosses. Murderers. And thieves. EBONGUARD is a lore-compliant criminal network linkshell on Balmung. While oriented toward morally-ambiguous lawbreakers, the linkshell is open for any interested parties to join—after all, picking up the telltale black linkpearls is a simple enough task in and of itself… WHAT IS EBONGUARD LOOKING FOR? Ebonguard is a criminal network LS, but it’s open for characters of all persuasions and alignments to join due to the fact that, well, it’s an actual linkpearl from an in-character standpoint. As a result, there’s no real restrictions on the sorts of characters we’ll accept. Anything that fits within the scope of the lore goes! This doesn’t mean that every applicant will be accepted into the linkshell, though, since the linkshell itself tends more toward grounded characters with fantastical elements in the background, as opposed to characters who spend every night trying to take over the world or signing a new Void pact. WHAT KINDS OF EVENTS DOES THE LINKSHELL RUN? Ebonguard has over the course of its run, done story-driven events, criminal shenanigans such as heists, and social events geared toward letting members of the network get to know each other. The Cloak & Dagger is run by the leader of the linkshell and is intended to provide a hub for the linkshell members to meet. It is located at The Goblet Ward 11 Plot 55 and is currently looking for volunteers who are interested in helping to run a tavern event on a roughly-monthly basis on Sundays (as schedules allow). For more information, please see this page! WHO CAN I CONTACT IF I HAVE QUESTIONS? The leader and owner of the linkshell is Leonnaux Altoix. If they are unavailable, feel free to contact: Edda Vincents Aran Aethersmith Vasir'li Sohlu Gwannes Oskwell HOW DO I JOIN? Membership does require an application and a short OOC interview, though many of the questions are marked as optional. Said application is made in Google Forms. APPLICATION

Update: As of August 27, 2016, Dreadwyrm has changed to a Free Company, though the Linkshell still very much exists in more or less the same capacity except it's also a Free Company now and will eventually have all the perks associated with that probably. I'm just the messenger! Although I put together the application, please note that if you choose to contact me rather than P'ianthe or Apollox in-game, I can only speak for and provide access to the linkshell, as my character IC is formally member of a different free company.

Hello everyone! I'm glad I've gotten so much interest so quickly and to everyone who replied to this thread and/or PMed me with interest in RPing with or having Leon in their FC, thanks! I don't have a lot of internet time at the moment since it's pretty late and I'm staying away from home currently, but I'm going to start hopping between FCs after I get home this coming Sunday and I'll do my absolute best to follow up on all these interesting characters and potential plotlines! I went ahead an responded to individuals below because I figure that's a polite thing to do. I'll follow up on my PMs in the morning when I have more time and can tackle ideas and things more in-depth, but I'm really getting pressed now! -
If it's alright I'd like to poke my head into this void discussion and bring up a pretty interesting point in relation to an in-game entity? The final boss of the Weeping City of Mhach, Calofisteri, could potentially provide a scenario that could give someone void-y powers in-verse... But it depends on how it's interpreted, really.

zaviire posted a topic in Chronicled Connections
I've been on Balmung for a little over a month on my alternate character Leonnaux Altoix (RPC page linked there), I figure it's about time I start looking for some connections for him since I'm pretty much done grasping at his character and trying to get a feel for him. So, to save any readers of this thread the trouble of reading through my whole RPC page, to sum up Leon in a paragraph: he's a bit self-absorbed and obsessive in his studies. After coming to the conclusion that he had been afflicted with some mysterious 'aether sickness' (read: Echo), he took up arcanima and alchemy in thus-far vain attempts to study it more closely and left his family in the Shroud because they were too worried about his well-being (and went about it in all the wrong ways), so now he's plunked himself down in Ul'dah in an attempt to find some peace and quiet while he tries to get to the bottom of his predicament. (Also he's a Duskwight that I purposefully designed to at least somewhat-pass as Wildwood. "Attempts" to fool people IC with it has been an astounding success and is definitely something I'd love to play with.) Connections I'm looking for are pretty vague and general. Mostly, I want to meet people who wanna take playing with my character for a spin. I don't have any particular plotlines in mind, but I'd love to see where things take me in regards to Leon as a character. However, because of how... Self-absorbed and obsessive Leon is, it's safe to say that I'm only looking for platonic connections for now. Following are just some ideas in regards to connections that would be nice to have, but aren't necessarily required for anything I wanna do in particular, since I'm so new to this character and the server that I only have the vaguest idea where I wanna go with him overarching plot-wise. Roommates? In my head, Leon doesn't have any sort of really permanent employment since he kind of just absorbs information like a sponge and therefore taught himself a lot of what he knows, but obviously since he's living in Ul'dah he probably would be living on the street if he couldn't find someone who was willing to put up with him. I mean, he's capable and willing of doing menial jobs if it'll earn him some money... But he considers it a better deal if he can dedicate as much of his time as possible to studying rather than like, cleaning the streets or something. Study partners? As potentially-annoyingly self-absorbed as Leon is, he's also rather excitable when it comes to studying and, as single-minded as he is, he occasionally decides to toy with things outside of his interests. He enjoys hearing others' theories and findings -- especially if they have to do with aether in any capacity -- and, well... If you got him going about his own findings and studies that the possibility of getting him to shut up is slim. Unwitting (or witting, that's cool too) assistant? Probably requires some pre-establishing, but honestly Leon considers anyone who hangs around him often enough to be more of an assistant than a friend. It's a bad habit. And those are just some ideas outside of the usual friends/allies/rivals/enemies paradigm, all of which are ties I'd definitely be willing to roll with since you know the vanilla relationships are amazing in general anyways. I'm also looking for an FC! I'm a member of one at the moment, but I want to kind of shop around to see if there's any other particular one that fits my character better since I joined my current one primarily because it has a few of my friends in it and it's easier to get my feet wet into things when I'm with friends, but I'm definitely interested in branching out some more so I was planning on FC hopping a bit before settling one one to stick with hopefully-permanently. Also, linkshells. The FC/LS has to be friendly OOC! This isn't really an issue but I like to be able to approach and strike up conversations OOC even when doing IC stuff currently. I'd like an FC with a base community that's at the very least LGBT-friendly and doesn't fling slurs around. Mostly this is just here because I've had some Experiences with FCs on my primary server, and I'd rather not repeat them because I wanna feel comfortable when I RP with people. The FC/LS has to be RP-oriented! I like OOC linkshells so long as they give me a chance to make/plan some RP stuff, but some IC linkshells are greatly appreciated. Insofar as FCs go this is kind of a given I think, and not everything has to be tooootally IC with the FC chat and all, but I'd like RP to be the primary focus of it since I don't plan on doing any raiding with Leon on Balmung. Raiding is kinda a Perc-only thing. I'm just too lazy to gear Leon up when I hit 60; ain't no one got time for TWO lore grinds... I'd prefer an environment that Leon fit into IC. And of course since my intention is to shop around for FCs and then decide which one I wanna stick with, I'd really appreciate FCs that are okay with me FC hopping and then potentially coming back. Being chill about that is a great bonus. Whew, that was a mouthful. Thanks for reading! That's basically it; hope I can find some neat contacts for my dumb Duskwight!! -
balmung Leonnaux Altoix +1 (Zaviire's Characters)
zaviire replied to zaviire's topic in Player Directory
I have a new character, Leonnaux Altoix. This Duskwight is on Balmung. Percival is still not on Balmung, and never will be probably. His RPC Page can be found here! I'm a member of an FC already but I'm lowkey planning to stop hopping around to find the best fit for him. Information here, but I'll make a post in the connections forum too because it's more likely to be seen there. Percival's tumblr is currently on semi-hiatus but it's fixin' to come off when I come home from vacation. I was blessed with an internet connection, but there are some drabbles and stuff I wanna write to really start cleaning up loose ends with her character and make her more interaction-friendly overall. Removed Herobrine Edda. /snrk -
I. Basic Info Name: Username is obviously zaviire but most of my friends call me Mid or Perc. Pronouns: They/Them please! Location: Texas, USA Timezone: Central Standard Time (GMT-6) Contact info: My Discord is Perc #5086, and my personal Tumblr is highwindy. II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium-heavy. I prefer sessions that drag on for a while and have substance; I'm also a (shameful) Para RPer so my responses and such usually take a little bit in private settings (I try to cut it down in public ones where the chat scroll is already bad enough), with some posts being multi-part. I've written ones that take 5 parts to get through... It was an accident I promise. By that token, I prefer more story-based/plot-based RP than social RP; I'll do social RP of course, to fill in the gaps, but in the end I like the feeling of having something my character is working toward in some way. Views on RP combat and injuries: I enjoy RPing combat and neither of my (current) characters are any stranger to being injured. Unfortunately though, I don't like vanilla rolling (wherein if your opponent rolls higher than you, you just flat-out miss -- since it leaves little room for power gradient) and would, if at all possible, would prefer to just plot out how fights go so that the functional power level of characters is taken into account and not determined by a day of either really shit or really amazing RNG. But I also love to use combat systems so long as they're balanced and fair to the participants, so I'd have no problem with filling out a character sheet for one if it made it easier for involved parties. Views on IC romance: I don't mind ships, but they aren't something I actively seek out when it comes to RP. They need to flow and develop as naturally as the characters themselves allow (some characters may IC be the sort that go after it actively and that's fine! Mainly I just don't like ships when they're thrust upon me OOC) and preferrably be based on more than just physical attraction. I'm not too keen on the idea of ERP, needless to say. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): These sorts of relationships are what are most important in my opinion; from friends to family to enemies to business partners and so on and so forth, there's a lot more room for characters to bud and flourish if the cast of characters they surrounded with doesn't just include lovers, ex-lovers, or any other explicitly positive relations. Views on lore: I will not RP with anyone who bends the lore too far. I love the lore of the FFXIV universe and while I'm willing to bend the lore a bit to make things more interesting or fill in the gaps that the written lore has left for us to fill in, some things just take it too far. As such, I'm not too fond of characters dealing too heavily with the Void since I've found that a lot of people don't do their research but everything with me is on a case-by-case basis. The one thing I'm not flexible with is the canon status of Fantasias. They don't exist in the game to me (and my character) so I'm not going to RP with anyone who RPs them as existing in any meaningful capacity. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I tend to reserve /say for IC stuff. /yell also tends to be IC. With LSes it varies according to the rules of the LS, heh. Shout I have shunted into another tab altogether. /tells are almost exclusively OOC; I almost never carry on conversations in /tells though because there are times when I need my /tell tab clear. /party is OOC (usually). RP Pet Peeves: -Roleplay with asterisks. Brackets and stuff are fine... For some reason; I just can't stand the sight of asterisks. I prefer for my partners to RP with me with correct punctuation and the like, though. -Leaving RP unfinished. Picking it up at a later time is fine... But if I'm left hanging there's like a 9/10 chance the interaction will just be retconned. -Having my stories/plotlines left hanging. If we plan something together, then I'd like to be able to do it at some point, and preferably have them reach some sort of resolution (either played out or planned) if they're going to be dropped. -Fantasias. I'll just flat-out refuse to RP with anyone who treats Fantasias as canon. Because in my world, they do not exist in any way, shape, or form. III. Characters Leonnaux Altoix

I have a knack for widdy titles. No I don't but I do have a knack for puns and bad references. Soooo, I haven't used forums in a million years in general, but hi there! I'm Zaviire, or Mid if you prefer (that's what most people call me because I can't escape my edgy nicknames from when I was 12), or in-game Percival Rigel. I've been RPing since 2008, but FFXIV is my first MMO, as most of my experience is in a text-based format (and that's still the format I prefer, honestly). My character's wiki page is over here, if you'd like to read it, and it includes every bit I have on her so far... Honestly, I'm just a little thirsty for any sort of interaction, but seeing as I'm the only person on the universe who's not on Balmung (and have no interest in transferring), I haven't exactly gotten it. I rarely have any ideas for characters and just build plots off of character interactions (and pre-established relationships) in general. Insofar as RP preferences, I guess I can work it out with my partners at a later date, althoguh I prefer serious stuff as opposed to fluffy stuff and plot/character develipment-driven interactions as opposed to "hi/bye" and interactions that lack any real direction. But yeah, hi! Hope to... Well, I can't promise much, but I hope I'll be having a Good Time and maybe make some connections. I wish I could erase my avatar completely...
