"Aye, be lookin' ta join meself," Scarlet echoed behind the Hyur. She wiggled the parchment in her hand. "These be nice n' flashy, thought I'd give it a look see. But he was here first, yeah?" Sliding in between the door frame and the man in front of her, she took her place second, leaning up against the wall. She let the door close on its own, slowly falling back into its place and cutting off the white noise of the crowded streets. "Go ahead n' see him first then. I can wait, ain't in'a rush." Scarlet didn't really have a problem doing anything, save for maybe something sounding too cult-ish for her tastes, be it interview or challenge. If she had to choose, she'd like challenge best. Humming quietly to herself, she nodded at the Hyur to go on; first come first serve and all that.

The pamphlet held in large, calloused hands was crinkled gently at the edges and torn slightly in the corner after having been pulled too roughly out of her pocket. The words "Eorzean" were made to be good and clear at the top. The rest afterwards, or so she had been told, were "Hunters League". It was the decorative parchment itself that had caught Scarlet's eye, and only after she'd asked a helpful citizen in the bar about it's lettering did it capture her interest all together. She needed a new job, an interesting and - more importantly - steady job. A good two suns after she'd pilfered the pamphlet from the wall, Scarlet led herself through the crowded streets to the addressed headquarters. Scarlet found the doorway to said headquarters ajar, a Hyur standing in the way while a furry tail was just on his way out it seemed. "Oi, 'cuse me," she announced, rapping her knuckles on the door as she loomed behind the Hyur. "S'this bein' the Hunter's Lea - ah, Lainseworth! Ain't be thinkin' of seein' ya here!" She grinned at the Lalafell, offering a small wave. In the same motion, Scarlet held up the pamphlet she'd been carrying around, looking to both Lainseworth and the furry tail at the desk. "S'this bein' the right place fer the Eorzean Hunters League?"

I do hope XIV makes a good first impression on the FF titles C: As for lore - the Wiki is a good source and Endemerrin has a great post here about what happened before XIV became a Realm Reborn. Stuff to avoid, I suppose would be the same stuff to avoid while RPing in any other game; meta-gaming, lore breaking, stepping on other people's toes, etc. As for bio tips, I suggest looking through the Player Characters directory on the Wiki to get a feel for how we sort of set stuff up. Each piece was honestly earned and now you've gone and sullied it with murder. If you're going to use dead man's gil, she'd prefer you used it on Costa ale. A Broken Chain: A gift from Vash Ashford after she made him a new one. It was tied around her belt. Could you give it back to him, please? Crumpled Paper: A lot of crumpled paper with poor handwriting on it, some maps of Twelveswood, Thanalan, and La Noscea, and a few delivery orders. What you can read off the paper is just the Eorzean alphabet repeated. How boring! Half-Eaten Lunch: It will never be seafood and always homemade. Knock yourself out. Battle Axe: A self forged axe from back home, a memento of sorts that holds a special reminder of where she's from. On one side of the hilt it has her full name engraved into it, and on the other a home clan saying in her native tongue. If you failed to sneak up on her, it probably has a bit of your blood still on the blade. (EDIT: Yes quick edit works as well! Seeing as my initial post just said table x4)

I've mostly gotten all of my information from here which is unfortunately not much, but I do hope that was somewhat helpful C: Otherwise all else about my character has been lovingly patched together by theories and made up from stuff within XIV lore as a whole. Although if anyone else has a better source of info I would sell my soul to you bake you cookies for eternity.

To answer your question about custom emotes (and I'm answering this assuming you mean how we do: Scarlet Willow smiles warmly, welcoming the newcomer with a pint of ale.) you just type /em and type out whatever you want your character to be doing and it'll put your name in front automatically C: If you've got any other questions or would like some character feedback feel free to ask! For me and my character, she's playfully competitive as opposed to a hardcore competitive nature where everything is a competition. With other Roegadyn she sort of feels them out and if they appear competitive in a hostile manner she'll go for it full blast, and if others races do that she finds it insulting and refuses to instigate anything more. Otherwise she's a teddy bear with biceps the size of your head C: Hope that was somewhat helpful!
