  1. "Hacked" ...or were they simply stupid enough to go to the wrong sites or to give their information for powerleveling. If they were truly hacked i'll feel badly for them...but honestly, i wonder how many of them made a bad choice. That being said, my loading screen in the cities are slow, so i start getting gilseller spam before i even see people...I type up the names in my chat bar and moved them to blacklist before i do anything else...There's rarely more then three in a city...and as they havent banned the ip's with the idle boot it seems they are slowing down a /bit/. I only had to blacklist 2 new ones last night when i went to Ul'dah from Limsa...normally if i'm on all day i'll have to do about 9. Just keep blacklisting and reporting...its the only thing that will truly weed them out.
  2. hmmmm K...so i could go both ways on this. Iconic af armor RAWR!...but...I'd be lying if i'm not just a /little/ bit curious what monk af would look like in that lovely shade of bluegreen that matches Desi's eyes. That being said...frankly, if its not AF.......i think it should be dye-able...if its not, well, the rest of your outfit /is/...so make it match? I think people are making entirely too big a deal about this. Its the starting stages of the game (sorta?)...There will be more variety eventually as far as how armor looks, there always is. Of course i'd like to see some of the more dynamic looking armor pieces that drop in dungeons be dye-able...and perhaps the developers will listen to their audience and do so...but i think its a bit early in the game to get too bent out of shape over it.
  3. so, for desi...my motivation is to be where my closest friend is...atm it stands that he is gonna be on balmung as are several other close friends. that being said lulu could be on either. frankly, the idea of legacy vs non is stupid to me...the game doesnt need dividers
  4. This happens to the best of us. The best advice i could give has already been said. Take a step back, give it time and explore your options when you feel the desire again. I've gone through this multiple times through the various mediums i've rp'd with over the years. It really comes down to finding a group that inspires, that you can grow with. In the time that you're not actively rp'ing you could keep your hand in by writing your own stories in the world, not active rp but still living within the world. That's the way i normally go when i'm feeling burnt out or uninspired.
  5. I was starting to wonder. Desi was catching a draft >.>. A skirt the size of a hankie and some garder straps do not equal pants....
  6. FINALLY...decided on an appearance. Desi 1.0 Desi 2.0
  7. So, amusingly this has been the topic of gentle debate for both of my characters, main and alt. My main has been a hyur since 1.0 and will remain as such, but i've been hemming and hawing between midlander and highlander. She started out midlander, a close friend suggested highlander for...aesthetic reasons. This is a character concept that, like him, i've played through FFXI first (as a hume of course), so i've had a certain appearance for her that she's held for a long time. Obviously, midland hyur does suit her build (she was the smallest size), a fiesty little mnk with a sweet streak that won her the heart of a certain unnnamed elvaan mentioned above. But her personality shows more clearly in the highlanders emotes, they just seem so...alive. Hense, my problem. My alt is also a hold over from a character played in FFXI, my blm Rialulu *points to my avatar* I tried making her as a lala in 1.0...but after giving it long thought, i realized how very sick i was of looking at kneecaps. I set Lulu aside, even though her brother Pooka continued on. Now my brother is thinking of swapping to Miqo'te...which would suit me just fine really, so she may be able to join us again...able to look at well, waists...cause i cant play something overly tall (its just weird, i'm only 5'2!)
  8. *snickers* The sudden ability to blow things up with the power of my will, intelligence and my mind? BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *clears throat* i mean..um. So, obviously, i'd lvl Conj. And then Tham...and then blm and whm. >.> Cause...blowing shit up with the power of my mind :bouncy: that's like crack for a chick with an irish temper. ...and being the natural healer that i am i'm sure whm would come easily to me. RP...well, why play a character when i can be myself, i'm sure i'd go on writing storys. I wouldnt mind being in such a beautiful dangerous world i know that for sure. As for crafting and gathering...oh yes...my pretties. Cooking and Alchemy for sure, as well as botany and fishing.
  9. wow...after reading this i'm really excited. My main, Desi, her concept is a leatherworker first and a pugilist second, its what she was raised to be by her father. So the idea that this is all going to be more functional as an actual job rather then a grind makes me a very happy little panda.
  10. *smirks* Yes sweetpea, you know you get your vote when i go home and play with it a bit more, just a few more hours <3 *crosses eyes at* And very glad to be here, but you already know that. Now if i could just crowbar my brother into being more active and i'd be set. I'd think that pixel Lulu as my avatar would have been a dead give away...eeh maybe i should have picked Desi's avatar ...but i didnt have that one handy lol
  11. Milkyway Storm We actually have 6 cats (Kratos, Zed, Remus and Romulus...but these two are my babies that i've had for the last 12 years)
  12. :bouncy: 33 here... I've been RP'ing DnD since i was old enough to (sorta) understand a sheet. I was seven, my brother thought it would be amusing to have me play the most twisted concept he could put together. Over the years i've played TT and online, via digichats, IRC, forums and MMO's. I've played DnD, everything White Wolf (yay changeling!) Abberant, Paranoia, Cthulhu and currently Anima. I write (pages and pages...) and i draw (not so well but i'm practicing?) Other then that i'm in culinary school currently and y'all are welcome to visit my gastro pub when (if) i ever get the silly thing open. Desserts and booze! Woot!
  13. As cooking is always something i do in any game i'm involved I'll fish. This just makes it a bit easier for me to relax and gather things i need for cooking. I understand what they are trying to do. In a lot of cases farming RMT's dont go the added step of selling to other players. They farm/gather mass quantities of easy gather or farm stuff and sell it to vendors for quick turnover of gil. I know this, because i've had characters hacked and had them returned. (This was in wow) When the character was returned to me they mailed me everything that had been sold off the character for the time she'd been hacked...Lets just say it took me roughly 4 days to clean out my mailbox So, yes this means your fish are not going to have a high vendor value, but to other players that will use them for cooking and are not inclined to do the fishing themselves (not everyone enjoys that sort of thing no matter how easy it may be), they will still have value. I have mixed feelings about loosing the minigame...sometimes thats fun, sometimes i just need mats for cooking and would rather be doing other things (EXPLORE ALL THE THINGS!!!)...so..yah.
  14. ....so...i totally cracked up at work over this and got in trouble for screwing around. (with my boss that translates to candy being thrown at my head dont worry)
