1. Suen looks like a good story node to chip away at. I can think of a good few ways that she and Sahja could get along, in fact, some more surprising than others!
2. Hello! I'm coming back to FFXIV after a bit of a hiatus, I'm really interested in finding some people to Roleplay with. I've got a huge background of RP experience so I'm sure I can find a way to nestle into some scenarios! I'm in an FC right now, however, I don't do anything with them these days so I'm willing to hop over to a new one. The Character: Wiki Page Sahja is a young Miqo'te Keeper of the Moon, whom rather typically prefers the company of her own kind (But don't let that stop you, she's not that picky). She's brash, rugged and bratty at times, but deep down there lays a heart of gold that has survived the worst of the hardships she's faced. Her impatience and impulsiveness will betray her intelligence, but she will make for a fine adventuring partner, business associate or whatever have you. Well, she'll try her best, anyway. The Player: I'm EU, in the ol' UK, but I'm frequently online at later times so that's never been too much of an issue in interacting with NA folk, as such I'm happy to hear from parties on both sides of the water. Though, people to the far, far East might have trouble getting hold of me. I've Been Roleplaying on MMOs for nearly a decade now, including WoW, GW2, FFXIV and BDO, lots of characters, lots of good times! You can contact me in-game by sending a /tell to Sahja Maimhov. But, for a more immediate response, add my Discord @ Ash#6024. Even if you don't want to RP, but just want to play together, come and give me a poke, I'm currently levelling my way through Stormblood! The Roleplay: So, what exactly am I after? +Adventuring +Socialising +Exploring +Events (By DMs) +DMing for people -Excessive romance -Large focus on dark themes -Heavy interaction with criminal organisations (She's not a goodie two-shoes, just doesn't like people who harm innocents for their own gain.) Hopefully, I hear from one or two of you (^・ω・^ ) Cheers!
3. Good friend of mine, pleasant to talk to outside of the game and more than willing to learn the lore (what little of it there is) that drives our happy little community. I'll be Roleplaying with them but I'd like to see other players both new and old joining us. Don't be shy! (=^・ω・^=)
4. At first me and my friends were worried that I had got the date or time wrong when we showed up and saw nobody. However with some quick thinking I hopped behind the bar as seven or eight people suddenly showed up, inventing drinks to serve them such as the very popular 'Blue Airship' and the mind-breaking, leg-numbing Aunt Rowena. All in all I personally had a blast pretending the lavishly decorated, cosy bar was my own. Even if the entertainment never showed P.S. I hope you don't mind but I stole your tip jar. Everyone tipped me and I had nothing else to carry it in! (( Do apologise for hijacking your venue, but I innocently thought some improv RP for the people showing up was better than none at all! ))
5. Hello Rylder, Welcome to Balmung! For getting started off with the 'European Crowd' then you can check out this forum post below: http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=9233 This is a European Directory you can use to find Free Companies, Linkshells and more. People also reply to the forum post with a brief summary of their character, you can do the same so people can find you or you can contact others here. Feel free to give me a PM in-game (Sahja Maimhov) if you are still lost though!
6. Ah, excellent I'd enjoy being involved with some ongoing story lines or newer ones starting after the holidays, being allied with another Free Company is a good opportunity not only for me but for my own FC too! From what you've mentioned and what is written on the Wiki page (Which looks very nice by the by ) I think Sahja would get along just dandy with Kasi. I do have Discord installed but I frequently forget to open it up, not really an avid user of it. Not sure why, just something about the program doesn't click with me the way forums do. But even still I might as well join the Discord server just to be 'in the know' (My username there is Ashjur#7867) as well as joining in with the Linkshell. Exploring the wilds and meeting other people sounds ideal, but my character isn't quite a 'Nomad'. Just a curious traveller that would come across other travellers and nomadic folk.
7. That looks like a good bit of fun actually, thanks for the heads up. I should definitely have that evening off of work (Catering Life) to attend it. Reckon I'll be able to stay up late too for the full monty!
8. Hello! tl;dr I want some chums to RP and host events for I've been encouraged by 'anonymous' sources to create a post on this part of the forum in an attempt to find some more like-minded individuals I can meet and hopefully Role-play with for some time to come. With that in mind, here's the skinny. My character -- Sahja Maimhov -- is a Keeper of the Moon whom has recently entered the perilous trade of adventuring, bearing that in mind I am not looking selectively for other Keeper roleplayers; My views are grander and more open on the situation so I'd like to find any fellow Adventurers, Mercantile folk, Hired Hands, Bounty Posters etc etc no matter their age, race or beliefs. Or really to meet anyone that wants a boisterous, witty, know-it-all Cat to talk to. So if you give out jobs or just want a partner in crime to take down some thugs for a spot of Gil then I'm your girl. I have experience doing DM'd events as both a participant and a GM and I would like to give others the opportunity to come along and do events that I create. Aside from this, any invites to Linkshells out there that offer a good home for RPers would be appreciated (I'm already on the EU RP LS). I also currently have a nice cosy home with a Free Company so I'm not looking for that at the moment, thank you! Can message me in-game or reply here if you'd like to meet, even if it's just for a pint at the local watering hole. Cheers!
9. Well I've not been playing the game more than two months so honestly I'm a little asconce when it comes to what I'm looking for. Ideally I'd like a Linkshell that is just active and social, one that habitually has members involved with open RP. As for my character, she is a Miqo'te Keeper, former experience training under a merchant but now casting her sights out on the world at large as an adventurer/odd-jobs taker. Pretty simple stuff. I'll get around to making a Connections post too, sounds like a good place to start. I just want to meet some cool people and ideally provide some hosted events we can do. I am a dab hand at creative writing!
10. Thanks for the reply! In regards to what you've said I actually have done most of this already. Unfortunately most of my experience from being feeling 'cast out' in social environments have been from Role-Play events I have found through the forums. I've had a couple of good times with places such as the Sunny Seaside Bar and the Neverfar's Tavern, but on a whole RPers can be quite un-approachable. I don't believe it's me -- although that is a possibility -- as I'm a rather confident if not boisterous go-getter so conversation starters aren't a huge issue. As for the Quicksand... Well, the three times I've stuck my head through the door I had more than a few players straight up ask for a raunchy shag so I've been turned off of that area. Although I could have just been there at the wrong time. I'll keep chugging along like you said, all aboard the RP train!
11. Hello! Recently I quit playing World of Warcraft after having played the game for around seven years, but more importantly role-playing there for about three years. I just found FFXIV as a base game to be much more enjoyable and decided to RP here on Balmung too. Recently found the RPC which has been a great help for finding events going on but that brings me onto the main point. I've found the community in a general sense to be kind, supportive and welcoming which I really dig. Yet, unfortunately I've started to come across a very 'clique' feeling when approaching players. Now don't get me wrong, WoW had it's fair shares of closed groups but not on the scale I have been subjected to. I'm talking about people outright ignoring my character and continuing conversations with other people, merchants and bartenders blanking me in favour of serving people they know and entire free companies not interacting with me in favour of their own closed universe or some such. My take on it is imagining visiting, say, your friend's house party say and having one of their mates come strike up a chat with you, only for you to pretend they don't exist? Barmy. ( I feel like I should add that these problems have not been caused by people missing messages in the chat box ! ) I've joined a Free Company myself but golly I don't want to only do RP with them for the rest of my days, no matter how lovely they all are. Question is; what can be done to find more open Role-players? Are there any good Linkshells that aren't in-active and dead? Or alternatively I'd love to hear from any fellow Europeans or any Americans ( I stay up late ) on the Balmung server that could give me a starting boost and come hang out!
