What better way to ring in the first official day of spring than to crush some good ol' melons between your good ol' thighs![/align] [align=center]Competitors will use a /random system where they must hit a certain number after a certain amount of tries. For example, to crush the first melon, the player would have to roll over 100 once out of three times. The larger the melons get, the higher you have to roll, with fewer chances. In the case of a tie, we keep rerolling until we have a winner! If you're asking yourself that then I feel sorry for you since you've gone your entire miserable Dodo infested life without the soothing feeling of hard plastic bashing against your face. A lot of balls will be going into a lot of faces come this tournament and we want YOU to join in. Registration? ITS FREE! Dodgeball is a sport recently being introduced by noted Medical Professional and Crackpot conspiracy theorist Doctor Kaisin Ozerov created for the sole purpose of alienating friends and loved ones as swiftly as possible at what was supposed to be a friendly picnic in the Shroud. The rules are simple. Each team will be comprised of three suckers participants. It is important that these teams come up with a unique team name to identify themselves! The Ref will toss up a ball into the air. The swiftest member of their respective team will be selected by their team-mates to grab for the ball. Choose wisely! The team with the ball makes life miserable for the opposing team. Chuck that ball as hard as you can at the opposing team by any means necessary! The faster and harder the better! Oh no! Those guys just chucked a ball at you! If you get struck by this ball then you're out! But, hit or miss, your team now holds the ball. Select your ball chucker and hurl it right back at those who has oppressed your people! Repeat this until one team is completely out! If anything the team does pops the ball in defense or offensive plays then that person is automatically out! The grand prize for this tournament of champions is 600K, split evenly among your team or, if your team so chooses, goes to a single teammate in a sudden death three way match between the three of you! The Where: Costa Del Sol The Why: Because The When: February 24th 8PM EST The Prize: 600,000 Gil prize. We will have booze, food, and whatever else decides to slither onto the beach! ((OOC)) The mechanics are still being worked on, but essentially we'll be working with rules seen in similar competitions such as the Grindstone or Spellguard. Each team of three represents a health pool. Each team takes a turn. Initiative rolls will be selected by their respective teams and will be labeled "The Ball Grabber" Whose duty it is to roll initiative for the team and grab the ball. Once in play, your team will chuck the ball in the direction of the opposition by selecting the victim target. Use any means you feel is necessary. Abilities, powers, and aether are allowed so long as they don't pop the ball. The highest roll in any defensive or offensive play wins and you either dodge or knock someone out respectively. We encourage you and your team to sign up here on the forums or to contact me, Doctor Ozerov in game with your team's name, teammates names, and that'd be it! Our hopes is that you're creative with your team names, come up with personas or gimmicks, and generally have fun with it.

Dear denizens of Eorzea, Each Thursday night Harbingers of Dawn <> will be hosting a gathering in our company's tavern. Starting upon the 9th bell of the evening ((9PM eastern time)) will begin an evening of food and drink, merriment, and entertainment. The festivities will be held in the basement of the Harbingers' estate located on Plot 58, Ward 5 of Lavender Beds. All are welcome, but please leave your weapons at the door. Remember, this isn't your common seedy little tavern--brawling and illegal activities are strictly prohibited. We are a company of heroes, after all! Should anyone find the basement too cramped, there is a cozy seating area upstairs as well as on the lawn. For those currently without a company and seeking employment, along with our usual prospects we are also hiring culinarians, entertainers, bouncers, and servers for the purpose of our events should they pledge loyalty to our company. You heard it hear first! You might be asking yourself, 'What is the purpose of this event?' Well my friend I am here to tell you! We think that no matter what, not matter the differences Companies should come together every once in a while. So what better way to do that by having someone from each company beat the tar out of each other. So come on down! Pick you companies champion and sign up! But wait! Don't have a free company! No problem! Spots will be available for those who have not a company to call home! Or wish to not represent! As many free companies are allowed to sign up that show up, and like the above post, we are letting people who aren't in a FC to show up as well. For those Free Companies wishing to have their champion show their might you must...well have a champion! Pick your best fighter and collect your fee. This is because we figured those in FC's would be able to draw from everyone to put some in your pot to enter. Not in a Free Company? Represent yourself, your lord, master, or even someone who cannot participate. Don't want to participate? Donations are MORE then welcome to help make the pot larger. [align=center]Aethersteel Tournament[/align] IC: Aether and Steel. The two are believed best kept seperate. Do you want to be a grand master of steel? Then fight steel and draw blood by blade. Do you want to be a grand master of the Aether and Magic? Then practice in your books, study, and come to dominate your opponents with your mind. But when the two comes together, we get the Aethersteel. The combination of Might and Magic - the culmination of Intellect and Brawn. Those who fight with more than their mind, and more than their base strength will emerge victorious. Do you have what it takes to face your opponent - no matter what may be standing on the other side? Then step forward and fight. OoC: The Aethersteel Tournament is a Tournament that will be following a system very similar to systems found in Rock Paper Scissors system, where two players face eachother One-On-One and are pitted into combat. In effect, this is a “Rock, Paper, Scissors” Duel-style System! In place of Dice, we use a system of Attack - Fast Attack - Heavy Attack. Each member will be given 3 HP. The one who wins the 'round' will be given the first post, followed by the one who lost 'recieving' the attack. Attack: Beats “Fast Attack” Fast Attack: Beats “Heavy Attack” Heavy Attack: Beats “Attack” In Laymen's Terms, this means that Attack > Fast Attack > Heavy Attack > Attack. In the case of attacks matching, both players will recieve a point of damage and will post in order. A Fight Master will be used for each match, so we will be keeping the tournament a little bit smaller while we test and use this system, gain further Fight Masters for the fight to accommodate more people, and work out any complaints or suggestions that arise to better the tournament! How Attacks are to be handled: At the start of the match, each person will enter with a total of 3 HP. Upon the start of the match, both combatants will send a tell to the Fight Master with either “Attack”, “Fast Attack”, or “Heavy Attack.” The winner will be announced in local (Say) chat by the Fight Master, and the first post (to represent an attack) will go to the Winner, with the Loser reacting on taking damage. This process will then repeat itself, until one of the members have reached 0 HP. The Time The Time: 3:00 PM EST 7:00 PM GMT The Day: The next tourney will be on Saturday, April 30th 2016 at 3:00 PM EST. The Location: This tournament will take place at the Lifemend Stump, in Central Shroud This location is subject to change if we get a sponser that prefers to use a house* Lifemend Stump, Central Shroud (x27, y15) [Thanks given to Ilwe'ran and Nefzan for the clarification!] Current Needs: Sponser(s): Currently, we would welcome an "IC sponser" - someone who wants the fights hosted at their home, or likewise, someone who wants to have their name attatched to the tournament as an RP. There is an opportunity for RP in this, I believe. No gil needs to be given to be a sponser, we are however asking for support (weather in manpower or word of mouth.) Fight Masters: We are in need of additional Fight Masters. We are hoping to have 3-5 Fight Masters total for the first tournament. Once we have the requisite amount of Fight Masters, we will be able to have a proper tournament. Healers: This is a fight tournament where injuries are expected. We will need healers. You/Combat Participants! We want to know what you think, if you want to participate, if you’d be able to participate!
