Howdy! I run a FC and a LS group called Eorzea Garden (EG-RP). We are looking for some new friends to bring into our FC or LS. FC is NOT mandatory and we will happily accept LS only members. We are off to a great start and have some wonderful opportunities available, now we are just looking for dedicated and enthusiastic role-players to join us. FC is optional (Rank 6), saving for housing. Very friendly, fun group and we are looking to expand to bring in more people who are looking for a home. There are a few roles we are accepting, which include: Students...always accepting. Pathways include SeeD, White SeeD (Elite Squad), and staff jobs at the Garden (cooks, doctors, maintenance, groundskeeper, stable workers, etc). You will start as a Rank 1 student. We have a level system for students to graduate and pursue career paths, but if you are just looking to be around socially the level system is optional--yes, we will gladly take you if you are just looking to hang out. Instructors: all specialties including combat, academic, and job-skills (like cooking, medical, etc) Garden staff members: you name it, we probably need it. [align=center] [/align] Following The Calamity, Eorzea found herself facing a time filled with destruction and despair. It was a time of hopelessness. It was a time filled with heartbreak. The people of Eorzea were left to pick up the pieces of their once normal lives, facing such atrocities that even now warrant nightmares. Not only was the world around them in pieces, but so were their most precious relationships--spouses fallen dead, families separated, and even the unfathomable would come true in the form of children left with no parents...no home. These were dark times for Eorzea, so dark that it was almost impossible to find a light. In Ul'Dah, Gridania, and Limsa Lominsa, the orphanages began overflowing, leaving them with a dilemma which needed to be handled with strategy. In this time, it was agreed upon that these three city-states would each build a Garden to function as a cadet academy. These institutes would take in children in need of shelter and train them to serve Eorzea. It would be an academy like no other, offering dormitories, training facilities, libraries, and classrooms. Students would live and study on campus, offering them both a family and home in the Gardens. After a measurement of their growth both physically and mentally, these students would graduate and be given the opportunity to join SeeD, a military group that would be hired to carry out various missions throughout the realm. In time, the Gardens became well established, each working closely with their designated city-state to maintain peace and aid Eorzeans as they recovered from darker times. However, in recent times, there have been many reports of dangers concerning the beast tribes and the Garlean Empire. With these dangers, the city-states now understand that in order to protect Eorzea, they must unite. With the best interest of Eorzea in mind, it was decided that the three separate Gardens would merge into one large academy--Eorzea Garden. It would be a symbol to the people that they would stand together to protect Eorzea. I had an EQ2 char named Raeje! i like this idea. im just returning to the game after a long absence and re-figuring things out and deciding on mains and what not, but would love to hear more either ICly or OOC. So, if you tell me I will assume that it's OOC, but if you're ever looking for RP, just let me know and I'll be happy to meet up and start something. Views on RP combat and injuries: Of course there will be combat! Especially considering that Laguna is nearing graduation at Eorzea Garden. He does have a scar from combat, so injury is bound to happen, but obviously it would need to be properly RPed out and reasonable. Nothing too serious unless we agree on it beforehand. Views on IC romance: Laguna is pretty social and a student at the Garden, so he is definitely open to dating and finding a lucky lady. However, please note that this would be pending our character chemistry, and it would not be rushed. So don't expect him to be head over heels for someone he met two seconds ago. I am a firm believer in building character relationships (friendships, rivalries) through interactions. So, IC romance, yes! I think exploring all relationships through your characters is fun. I am also a huge fan of a good plot, so lets give our lovebirds the story they deserve. Please remember that IC =/= OOC. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Crucial to develop a solid story. Since he is at Eorzea Garden, he may not have family (aside from a twin sister Luna Lestrange), but that won't prevent him from forming solid friendships, alliances, and even enemies along the way. All of it is necessary to form a developed character. Please consult with me before if you want to explore any kind of ties to Laguna or Luna. Views on lore: I'm not an expert, myself. So, I'm willing to learn but I'm not one of those people who will be upset if the lore isn't 100% accurate either. I use it as a basic guideline but I like some creativity as well! This event is OPEN to the public. Please come out and support the official opening of Eorzea Garden! Eorzea Garden will be hosting its grand opening on Sunday, January 1st at 3pm EST. Concept: Located near the sunny beaches on the coast of Lima Lominsa, the peaceful woodlands of Gridania, and the bustling city of Ul'Dah the Eorzia Garden is an educational institution that trains young adventurers in jobs and skills to help them aid and protect the well-being of Eorzia. After completing a series of quests to test their skills, garden attendees are given the opportunity to work for a grand company, securing an strong alliance between the garden and the great nations of Lima Lominsa, Gridania, and Ul'dah. My thoughts: I've been wanting to start some role-play since I began playing this game. Why? Forming character relations and friendships (heck, even frenemies) really makes the game immersive and creates some of the connection I feel is lacking in MMOs. So, I've decided to base a RP group off of my personal favorite concept from FF...the gardens from FF8. I'm thinking this will start out as a linkshell because I would first like to see how much of a response I get to this (Excalibur hasn't been easy to find RP on, but I know there must be some other people out there). This is open to anyone, so whether you are an expert RPer or a beginner, you are welcome. If necessary, we can start up a forum to keep track of members and information/storylines. I currently purchased a small house in the Lavender Beds where we can hold RP. Eventually we can save up and put it toward a bigger place if we form a solid RP group. In addition, we can also use public places to meet-up in each of the cities to RP. I figure we can incorporate more character development for our characters and incorporate our developing relations into our MSQ; we can also plan outside stories (you can plot side quest stories and RP them and we could have garden festivals and parties for the group). For example, an instructor may want to take some of the students out for a "field exam" or maybe students want to take on extra training or even just escape the garden to hang out. Others, like SeeDs, may want to form a small group to go on private missions/quests. I would like the LS to be IC; if you want to say anything OOC, please make it clear by indicating OOC. However, I would like to keep most OOC chat out if possible. If, eventually we get enough interest generated, I would consider making a FC to accompany. If not, we'll stick to LS. Pretty much just looking to start something fun that makes our experience more immersive! More details below.
