its not, and it would be cool if more people did that, but also as stated above, what you have levelled up doesn't necessarily (and possibly shouldn't) equal what your character can do. You can realistically take all the magic classes up to 70 in a month or two. That's pretty unrealistic to say that happened in game, however. But as to everything else I said, ymmv. No advice given here is going to be entirely universal, but I'll try to keep it as general as possible. 1) People either walk around and talk to each other in character, or at events/normal gathering places. 2) In game I don't think many people use the mic to RP, its all via in game chat though some roleplay FCs might do it over mic in their teamspeak/discord 3) As the main story is focused on the warrior of light and their specific journey, *in general* its considered poor form to RP that you are the warrior of light or that the story is IC for you. this will vary between groups greatly tho, and other content some people will roleplay while doing in some for or another (such as dungeons or things like that) 4) Events are just things that are announced for everyone to gather at, but on the RP servers there is usually people RPing almost all the time at say the quicksand, or in various Linkshells/Free Companies. 5) IMHO, yes but ymmv 6) same as 5 Hope that helps!

Thats a lot of what the Astrologian does. They attempt to use constellations and cards to read, and then either predict or manipulate fate.

I'm not sure what kind of advice you would be looking for on Mateus. There is usually roleplay going on in Ul'dah, especially the quicksand, even during the late/early morning period. working over nights I usually hang around areas where I will see roleplay and then look for what FC's are active. then I can find a good RP group that works for my schedule. aside from that, if you are planning on hitting content I would say try palace of the dead or heaven on high first to gauge your latency and see how viable that is.

If you are working nights then the US servers probably wouldn't be too bad for you, being active when you are used to being awake. Also as someone that works nights in the US, I can say at least Mateus is still fairly active during the wee hours of the US time zones.

if we consider that what is in game is also in canon houses have things like fountains, hot tubs and showers. we also have access to advanced hair stylings (the aesthetician), so I would think hygiene is less "old world western europe" and at least analogous to the industrial age, if not modern.

i've actually noticed they seem to have diminished - when played pre-HW most areas were an ocean of cat-folk (On Balmung) - I left for a time and came back and now the races seem a bit more proportioned.

People tend to only use it when they are actually IC though! What is... very hopeful in turn as well. And most folk put some information about their characters, however limited, in their search info.
