The Glowing Onyx

No rush, I just hadn't been having any luck getting ahold of anyone so I wasn't sure what was up. ^.^; I'm new to the game so wasn't sure if I was just being a derp and doing something wrong.

Ok, I am on the server as Onyx Glow, but every time I try to message listed members I get a message that they are bound by duty and cannot receive my tell...so...I guess could someone perhaps message me when they are available?:?

I have a tendency to write characters with dark backgrounds, or try to play a villain IC often just so things aren't so Mary Sunshine all the time...but at the same time I am always worried my character will make people uncomfortable in some way. I just don't DO sunny characters well, though. I feel disconnected from them because they are just too damn happy about all the things. It's especially difficult when... A) As a villain character, people struggle not to dislike you OOC also. Just because my character is wringing her hands with lightning in the background, does not mean *I* am. :< B) When a character with a dark background actually begins getting close to someone against all odds, and it comes time to have that talk about who you really are deep down, or what is going on...I worry that my backstory will completely ruin it for the other person because of whatever detail.

Poor Koichi >.< Shy Diamond rarely drinks, and if she does it's usually when she is by herself, as aspects of her personality that she keeps under wraps tend to boil dangerously close to the surface when she is inebriated. >.>;

Everyone is just another until they bring them to life. So, by the very fact that you intend to roleplay, you aren't "just another" anything. Make what you enjoy and you'll forget all about those criticisms because you'll be too busy roleplaying.

Greetings and salutations, roleplayers! I don't like to disclose my RL details much, so you can call me Shy, or Diamond...or..."the"? (I guess. Weirdo.) Anyroad! I'll be popping in soon on the Mateus server to join and encourage the small but growing RP community there! So if you are from Mateus, I am looking forward to meeting you! As for details... I have been roleplaying for over a decade, I have at least dabbled on almost every MMO out there, and am in general a total nerd. I am very social ooc, but dislike voice chatting overly much because of my social anxiety but might do from time to time. I will be roleplaying as a female Roegadyn Hellguard named Shy Diamond. Stop and say hello if you see me running amok! If I am OOC and you want to RP, I'm highly likely to drop all things productive like a sack of proverbial potatoes to RP instead.

I'm so glad I found this! I love the idea of helping to build up a new RP community. I was feeling a bit discouraged and was considering paying to get into Balmung, but was feeling some guilt over the thought of contributing to the massive server bloat there. Looking forward to meeting you all once I can get in game. Right now I am sitting on the "Max Creation Per Day Limit". Don't judge. I fuss a lot before I select a character to roleplay with.:dazed:
