As title suggests I’m generally new to this whole RP thing and is generally too shy to ask people out in major cities for RP but I’m interested/curious about it and wanting to trying it out! Due to the current world travel limitations and super long ques, Are there any SFW/beginner friendly RP places in Adamantoise? Any tips for shyer RPers?

Hello, everyone! I play a male Roegadyn on the Adamantoise server, pretty much been there since 2.0. I have several years of roleplaying experience, mostly through online roleplay (I ran a Horde-side RP guild and played in an RP-PvP server on World of Warcraft back in the pre-expansion/Burning Crusade days, among other online RP groups) and in more recent years I play in LARP's and the occasional tabletop RPG games. I am, however, new to roleplay on FFXIV and would like to try it out! I knew it always existed, but never really looked into it. My opportunities will be in learning to effectively use the chat commands to roleplay, and learning a bit more of the lore and coming up with a backstory for the character itself (not the WOL backstory the game pushes forward, of course), and I've already started to brainstorm some ideas, but I am essentially looking for a way to dip my toes in (if not jump into the deep end)! I was able to find a list of RP events and I will likely stop by one of them soon to try it out. Generally-speaking I know RP communities can be inviting and patient so I have no fears about messaging people with questions. And of course, I'm interested in making some connections if anyone has any pointers, if they're also on Adamantoise or if they have any suggestions on which linkshells to join (oddly enough I've never really dabbled with linkshells on FFXIV, either). I am more of a casual player and so I won't have as much free time to give to this as others might, so I won't be able to invest in or give a lot of my time toward RP, but I still want to participate and try it out none the less. How come the people on our server can't enjoy the dynamic of coming together and creating great stories like on Balmung, Gilgamesh, or Mateus? Good afternoon and evening to all that happen upon this introduction. My name is Bunzilla-King. Though this is not the name of my character, I like the consistency across platforms. I do not have much experience with MMORPGs. The largest "MMO" style game I have played is Warframe, which I have indulged in for many years. I have never had a machine powerful enough to run most MMOs so this is a wonderful time to be alive. I started FFXIV roughly two months ago. Did not enjoy it at first as the idea of "fetching quests" did not seem appetizing to my adventurous soul, however, I powered through ARR and now we are here, gracing you today. When it comes to MMOs I am rather picky. Not only does the gameplay have to be good but also the game has to be aesthetically pleasing. It is why this game is so fascinating to me and I plan to play it for years to come. I came about this forum from another discord. Someone mentioned this forum aloud and I figured it would be worth the time to try. My RP experience is rather vast, though I have no done it in an MMOs setting and I am slightly rusty from lack of a partner. I have RPs on fourms, skype, discord, and in game messages. I normally consider myself a rather medium style writer though with enough inspiration, I can do so much more. I have done casual to mature RPs aswell so I am quite flexible. My actual main is Elis Conti. Statistics are as follows: AGE: 34 RACE: Duskwight Elezen SEX: Male SEXUALITY: Pansexual MARITAL STATUS: Single CLASS: Summoner ALIGNMENT: True Neutral SERVER: Adamantoise Story wise, it is still a work in progress as I grasp an understanding of the world. So far, he is a professor, at his young age, that teaches students summoning and advanced summoning. He is also within grant of researching primals to extend the understanding of the art. (and of course my own personal love for them as I COLLECT EVERY PRIMAL MINION) As for myself, friends refer to me as just Bun. I actually am, ironically, into environmental education as I enjoy teaching people about the great outdoors. I have already completed my college education as I find my place in the world.
