Do homes disappear when inactive?

Recommended Posts

They have not implemented the house relinquish after X days feature.

They did.

After 35 days(So I've heard) of full account inactivity and no one entering or leaving the home, it goes up on the auction block.

* From patch 2.2 onward, a free company will automatically relinquish its land if its estate is unused for a prolonged period of time.

They talked about it but due to all the negative feedback, they haven't implemented it. They may in the future but there definitely has been nothing in any official patch notes that has stated its inclusion. There have been ghost houses that have been empty for ages still around in my ward.

I know people who have been able to buy houses from plots that have become inactive. So I think it was implemented or given a longer time frame. Apparently a gavel appears on it showing it is back up on the auction block.

Remember, it has to be complete account inactivity or people not entering or leaving the home. (So I hear)

I've read all the patch notes since housing has been implemented and never seen this in the notes.

There have been regular discussions on the main FFXIV forums that act like this isn't implemented. Such as this one: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/237860-Two-reasons-why-an-eviction-system-is-INEVITABLE.

Are you sure your friends didn't just get lucky and find a house that someone spontaneously gave up? Not everyone is going to carry forward the practice of selling the right to relinguish a plot.

Was delayed until 2.4. The question is; did they just not put it in the notes since people are saying they are able to get homes that just randomly pop up/possibly abandoned?

Who knows?! I am not going to chance it by not logging in to find out and all I have is the fact a guildmember was able to snatch up a neighbor's home and that neighbor hadn't been active. It may be time we push the issue again.

Your post was about FC relinquishment. Also, it was not actually ever implemented. That was made in 2.1 and since then it has not been posted in the patch notes. Also, my post was about a personal house as the OP implied.

I can point you to one asshole FC leader who kicked out his entire FC and who has not logged in since who has both a personal house -and- the FC medium. It's been 6 months ish. Since he was the only one in the FC, he has not lost the FC house. He has not lost leadership. He has not lost the personal. None have seen him since, he's not upgraded his gear since then. He hasn't gotten any new gear in all this time. We're all pretty sure he hasn't been subscribed since he kicked everyone because the reason he got in trouble was for cheating on the person who paid for his sub.

There is nothing to suggest that the plots were relinquished through an SE system.
