Gideon Aryeh Posted August 19, 2015 Share #1 Posted August 19, 2015 I definitely plan on playing and rping in this as a side mmo. If anyone is going to be playing it say so! I didn't play RO but I grew up with games like Secret of Mana, SaGa Frontier (huge fan of SF2) and Final Fantasy Tactics so this game and its look and soundtrack is up my alley. Besides the game has 80 classes! From Cryomancers, to psychics, to time mages, to gun users, to even Squires which are a crafting/repair class. Yeahh... cuideag Posted August 19, 2015 Share #5 Posted August 19, 2015 Hats Online was my favorite for a long time. I might have to check this out... Link to comment
Vale Posted August 19, 2015 Share #6 Posted August 19, 2015 I used to absolutely adore Ragnarok Online when I was... 19? 20? Played a crap ton of it and loved my assassin. Even enjoyed the castle PvP portions and mostly ended up spending my time in the PvP arenas when I hit lvl cap. But... these days? I don't think I can get into it again. Definitely loved the hats, though. I'll keep my eye on the game and see how it does. If I ever get tired of FF maybe I'll give it a whirl Link to comment
Jana Posted August 19, 2015 Share #7 Posted August 19, 2015 The main complaint I've been reading about from the closed beta testers is how linear the game is compared to classic RO, but if you can put that aside, there's no reason not to check it out since it'll be F2P. Link to comment
Edda Posted August 19, 2015 Share #8 Posted August 19, 2015 I beta tested this for a few hours or so. Honestly, I didn't really like it. It has a similar aesthetics to RO, but beyond that they are vastly different. I figured this would be able to fill the void that game left in me, but it didn't even manage to tide me over for a measly three hours. Way too linear, and the class system is... strange. Kaiz Posted August 20, 2015 Share #9 Posted August 20, 2015 I loved RO. It was probably the first 'real' MMO I played after Priston Tale, and was pretty much my gateway into Lineage 2. I used to be all over that game. It's run its course, though. If I wanted to play RO, it's free to play now. Grinding MMOs have pretty much gone the way of the dodo for me, and while this game looks and sounds a lot like RO, there was a lot more to RO that made it special to me, including things that can't be reproduced, like my age and experience and social circle at the time. I'll watch for Tree of Savior, and I might try it out, but I don't hold any hope that it will rekindle the long-since-extinguished flame that was RO. Link to comment
Sylentmana Posted August 20, 2015 Share #10 Posted August 20, 2015 I'd love to get back into online games and other mmos. Unfortunately, I'm to cheap to replace my computer's broken HD, so I guess I'll just have to suffer. Link to comment
