ZOMGodzilla Posted July 24, 2016 Share #1 Posted July 24, 2016 My recollection of Allagan name-drops throughout the MSQ and side-quests is extremely spotty, though I of course do recall Xande and Amon. My question to anyone that can help is; is there any sort of convention to Allagan names? Perhaps a theme on which they're based? Link to comment
Hyakki Posted July 24, 2016 Share #2 Posted July 24, 2016 Xande, Amon, Unei and Doga are all from Final Fantasy III but the NPCs/bosses may have been given those names to fit the theme of the Crystal Tower raids. And then there's Wiyu, which was the name of a weapon in final fantasy tactics. Link to comment
Valence Posted July 24, 2016 Share #3 Posted July 24, 2016 From what I can gather at the very least, the few ones we have don't seem to have last names. Perhaps allagans didn't make use of those, or didn't exactly made the difference between last name and first name, for them it being just a name, and that's it. ( Note that Amon was called Hein in FFIII ) Link to comment
Nero Posted July 24, 2016 Share #4 Posted July 24, 2016 I'd imagine there's no real cultural conventions and any naming conventions that Allag had would be based on their language, not their culture. They were spread across Eorzea and even beyond Aldenard, which may be the justification for the mishmash of names they have drawn from Final Fantasy III. Link to comment
