Ifrinne Calionne Posted October 9, 2016 Share #1 Posted October 9, 2016 I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this but... (i cant choose where to go) I am about to transfer my RP character to another server but i wonder which server is the best for: - RolePlaying (of any kind, also not-lore-based.) - Social and kind community in the server and in a FC. - LGBT acceptance and maybe LS's. Gegenji Posted October 9, 2016 Share #2 Posted October 9, 2016 I may be biased, but I think Balmung remains the main "go-to" RP server. It's a bit of a hodgepodge, so there are nice and not-so-nice folks around - forming nice and not-so-nice FCs and LSes... but there's enough folks around that you'll probably be able to find a group you mesh with if you look around enough. And I'm fairly certain there's plenty of both FCs and LSes that are LGBT-friendly. Link to comment

Balmung. We got roleplay in various levels of seriousness and lore adherences. Social stuff is easy to find within any RP FC I find. LGBT acceptance? Honey, you came to the right place if you decide to go to Balmung. The FFXIV community in general is super accepting of LGBT folk, not just Balmung. I think there are some Linkshells for LGBT people... but as a person who falls in that group as well, I never saw the need for it, as everyone here simply gets accepted for what they are. Of course there are a few bad apples, but hey! Link to comment

After all with roleplay, and communities, you get as much back as you put effort into it. Linkshell Hall & Free Company Hall 1 Link to comment

Aden Dellebecque Posted October 9, 2016 Share #7 Posted October 9, 2016 In my experience most companies will let you try it before you buy it, so to speak. Hit them up, ask if you can stop by wherever their group hangs and see if you mesh. You may also look into an OOC LS that caters to connecting RPers, a few of which you'll find in Virella's first link. Many of them are also willing to field questions outside the game, so you can make some inquiries while you're waiting your 72 hours if you're chomping at the bit. Events are a good place to meet and interact with players, so check out Roleplay Events. It requires you to be somewhat outgoing though, so this method doesn't work for everyone. If nothing else, it's a good survey of what kinds of RP are readily available before you hit the server. 1 Link to comment

In fact it's really refreshing to be part of an FC/LS that just happens to have other LGBTQ+ folk but isn't focused around it. You get a lovely diversity of folk to engage with and you don't have to feel like you're a token member or anything. Link to comment
