New Player- Looking for an RP Home

So, I've finally got my computer to the bare minimum to run this game, and I'm now sitting here waiting for the maintenance to end.

 

All of that is a preface to me asking: what server is a good place to start if I'm looking to RP regularly? 

 

When I was poking around at character creation earlier, I saw that Gilgamesh/Balmung aren't accepting new players, and I've been hitting this forum with a stick to see if any better option falls out, but I'm having trouble finding any consensus.

 

Reading over the forums, I'm seeing Mateus or Faerie, but a lot of comments towards one or the other.

 

So...

 

I'm leaning towards Mateus, but not sure if anyone has better suggestions for a new player?

Welcome to the RPC. I'm on Mateus and it is fairly active with RP during my awful super late night hours so you should have no issues finding people to RP with here.

My understanding is that the largest communities on non Balmung/Gilgamesh worlds seem to be Mateus for the NA crowd and Omega for the EU crowd.

 

There are certainly other servers with budding RP communities (Faerie included), but if you're looking for sheer numbers, those are your best bets.

Yeah, your only real choice here is Mateus until Balmung reopens at some point. Regardless, best of luck!
