Hello! My name is Tora! (or Y'houkka if we go by IG names) So this is the first time I have ever tried to jump in to FF14's RPC and I'm honestly nervous?

Most of the roleplays I do have always been on tumblr, forums, or through discord! Sadly, the server I am in is not exactly a roleplay server so I have never had any opportunities to jump into any type of roleplay. ( I don't plan on moving due to not wanting to leave my friends over roleplay ;; )

 

I know the general rules of what should and shouldn't be done in roleplay but I have never in my life actually roleplayed IN an MMO interface (or whatever you would call it...) but I am still hoping for some positive interactions and maybe meet some people here on this forum that can teach me the ropes here and there or just generally have casual talk! That's always good too!

Hi there! Welcome to the RPC!

 

MMO RP isn't too different from Forum or other styles. The biggest difference for me was that you generally won't have a DM handling the scene, so metagaming and powergaming (aka godmodding) are handled by implicit trust. People will RP to different extents (like light, medium, heavy amounts of IC immersion, etc) and most follow a pretty standard IC/OOC split. Post length varies on the player and you'll find people who type anything from a line or two to a multi-text-entry paragraph for their RP. 

 

As for Faerie, I recall seeing a couple groups listed on the RPC before, so there may be a few linkshells and free companies who are RP-friendly, but don't have a lot of public information out there. A lodestone search might be your best shot. (Or if you're in a RP-friendly FC/LS, post them here on the RPC! We've got sections on the top of the site to help filter and find content)
