Osugi starred in last year’s Final Fantasy XIV: Dad of Light TV drama, which told the story of a father and son’s relationship in Final Fantasy XIV. Osugi was a highly respected and versatile actor in Japan. He appeared in Beat Takeshi films, such as Hana-bi and last year’s Outrage Coda as well as in Takashi Miike’s Dead or Alive movies and Audition, among many other movies, TV dramas and stage productions. Osugi was 66 years old. May he rest in peace. For those not familiar with it, "Dad of Light" tells a story about a son who lures his father into playing FF14 in an attempt to forge a relationship between them. The catch is, the father does not know the Miqo girl helping him in the game is played by his son. It is a fun and charming show, and highly recommend watching it (it's on Netflix in the west). Stormfalcon Posted February 22, 2018 Share #2 Posted February 22, 2018 I saw the news earlier today and was saddened by it. I really enjoyed the series and he was a big part of that. May he ever walk in the light of the crystal. Link to comment
