Skype is an audio communication program! But in this case, we use it to RP via chat and typing!

 

I've added you, Tyonis.  I will probably not be online for a while yet but once we get the details for this thing figured out, I look forward to starting up with it. :D

I've never used skype before. Is that not typing?

 

...bringing me to my next big question that seems great to post here!

 

How common is roleplaying through voice chatting and mics in game? I'm pretty attached to my keyboard (even for ooc). 

 

You can use voice or typing for Skype, but the typical use is typing for RP. HOWEVER, I've had a few voice RPs when I was doing a pen and paper roleplay and it really added a whole new dimension to the RP! Instead of reading how a character might act, you actually get to see and hear it. It really helped me get into the scene more. The only down side for me is that I'm actually pretty shy when talking, so I had a harder time playing my character, haha.

 

I do think it would be interesting to have a voice RP going on over Skype, though very unlikely to happen. :P

So our last trial RP session lasted about 3 hours or so, so it might probably be in everyone's best interest to have a list of available times.

 

I will be open practically all day until 7pm PST. I know some people are really busy during certain parts of the day, so hopefully we can all find a safe spot between all of our business!

This sounds like an awesome idea, and I'd love to join in, especially since I need to actually start thinking of how I'm going to rebuild my characters (or make new ones D: )...five years is a lot of time!

 

I've done a lot of RP for lots of things in the past (on everything including forums, IMs, tables, voice, MMOs, and running around in the middle of the woods) but I always feel so nervous when I'm around people with so much talent. It doesn't help that I've been AWOL from RPing with these guys for so long that I hardly even remember any of the stuff I did.:dazed:

 

my skype is chaosmali (big surprise :P), and I'm online most of the time, usually from 2-3 PST to the wee hours of the morning. I'd be up for voice or text but considering my voice is much more...err...feminine than my character of choice, text might be best. >_>;;

I for one would love to attend a Skype rp to play test my character as I do not think I will be attending a beta anytime soon. Hell or just to talk with the community. My two cents on the whole thing overall is while its nice to have set times to shoot for to get rp going, having one or more Skype channels ready to roll and open for rp any time of the day is very helpful for everyone. Especially for people like me who allways seems to work a lot of prime-time hours. It allows for everyone to get their fair share in and it never has to be too serious. 

 

Anyone, hit me up guys, I'll pop back in after work and say whats up.

I'd love to be added if there's going to be open rp events or an open chat. It'll maybe be easier to start some rp in-game after a bit of practise. My character is still in works, but I will try to edit her wiki page bit by bit.

For people interested in the OOC Skype Chat, we do have one going that is strictly OOC and just for fun, to get to know one another.

There is also the Soliloquy Tavern which is pure IC.

Hmmms, I wonder if I should. Not sure how often I'll join in with what you guys are gonna be doin on skype but it's worth a shot! My skype is naoko3692. What do you guys do on skype anyways? Chat and stuffs?
