Ryslo Suramlo Posted November 25, 2020 Author Share #29 Posted November 25, 2020 These are talking notes that will be discussed today at our all hands meeting at 5pm Eastern Time. Please understand all these things have been thoroughly discussed as we want to make sure everyone understands we have a solid foundation cemented out for everyone. This will clearly depict the new divisional structure, squad structures and the Simplified System Changes to our RP Pen and Paper Game rules. Sword and Shadow Division and Order of Knowledge. Changes to the Leadership Structure - Kedha Elakha will be taking over the leadership seat for the Order of Knowledge Cindri'sae Khyptha will be sitting on as Lieutenant for the Order of Knowledge Hilda Savage will be sitting on as the Lieutenant for the Sword and Shadow Division Division Leaders and Lieutenants will assign missions during the appropriate weeks. Ryslo Suramlo would assign random squads FC Story Plot Missions for a few Squads during the First and 4th part of the week. We are hoping to Encourage people to investigate information with each other during downtime especially regarding one mission to the next as they may very well be interwoven. To Make a Welcoming Environment. Initiates will not be assigned to a Squad. They will be allowed to attend any Squad's Event so they get a chance to meet everyone, see how people run things and get a different perspective from the Squad leaders. Squad leaders then will always have room for a few of these initiates hence why Squads will be formed with 1 Squad leader, 3 Members. It leaves room for 4 initiates to join your event. Initiates when promoted will be officially assigned to a Squad after 2 weeks. Cota Dhoro will be handling the Promotions for Initiates to the Squad - Ryslo Suramlo will be handling the Adept Promotion to Oracle (Squad Leader). Promotion of Acolyte to Adept will be done by the Divisional Leader (Since you remain in your Squad) You will not be able to be promoted to Adept though until you have acquired Level 10. Oracles - Content Creatures (Squad leaders!) Oracles is going to be a rank that is required to create Content. To advance from Adept to Oracle you will be asked at one point if you'd like to advance to the Rank of Oracle - If you say yes we will do 2 Trials with you. One will be out of character to set expectations, to help show you how we log events and such (importance of them too!) and another Trial will be actually gming a event. Squad Setup and Structure Squads will be made up of a mixture of folks - Squads will not be tied to any particular division. Squads will get assigned missions during Order of Knowledge weeks and Sword and Shadow Division weeks. During the Free Company Story Weeks there will be missions setup for squads to impact the Main Story Event that week. If your squad is not assigned a task for a week then as a Squad leader you focus on something internal or a one-shot mission that week for your immediate members. We want to create a dynamic, breathing environment and so we wish to encourage cross-squad RP so its very possible Squad A did something during Sword and Shadow week that needs to communicate to Squad B during Order of Knowledge week for them to accomplish their tasks. ---- Lastly. We are trying to encourage a positive environment; A growing environment. While people are going to come and go we are going to focus on building a foundation, raising walls and getting a roof setup. Any online community is going to have its share of problems and online community is going to have its wonderful moments and not so wonderful moments. What defines a community is how its leadership and its membership handle those bumps together. We like to approach issue's with transparency, we like to deal with our problems heads on and we enjoy constructive feedback. This is not only our community but yours. Link to comment
Ryslo Suramlo Posted November 29, 2020 Author Share #30 Posted November 29, 2020 We are proud to announce that our Pen and Paper System has been updated. We have taken great strides and measures to make sure it reflects our characters strengths, weaknesses and give us more ample roleplay opportunity then previous systems had. We are also super excited that we had been able to do this in a way that simplifies how it is run and to put a new focus on RP rather then on mechanics. Definitely a great achievement by the members of this community that had come together to work on this. Also huge props to Cindri'sae Kyptha who put a lot of love and hours into creating a functional spreadsheet for the system as well as feedback from the community that helped balance a lot of our feats and stat scores. Definitely excited to see what new dangers await the Oracles and how we each play up to our individuality when we venture out into the wide world. Link to comment

Our Initiates and those not mentioned will be floating between these squads for each week (which is a good amount of folks) but thats because we have plenty of room to grow and currently a little top heavy (Hey when you stay with a group long enough you get promoted!). We have almost 30 active members (active within a day or two) and currently got a robust calendar filled with events and other fun in character things for us to do as a company. We broke the 1 year curse that often befalls free companies and plotting a course with our story in preperations for 6.0! We have plenty of events up on our Calendar and have a solid crew on nightly! We do host a lot of RP oppurtunities but because of our groups activity have ample chances to do content with folks and help people with their individual conquests! Due to it being Fan Fest Week we are planning on doing some fun events with everyone (This week we all should just leave time to do more open RP and one week away from planned stuff may be warranted with the injuries) Monday @ 8pm Eastern Time we will gather together and do a Photo shoot for the Fan Fest Group shot Wednesday @ 7pm Eastern Time - The Free Companies Band will get together (with who they can) and we'll perform a impromptu session of live music in Ul'dah Playing all the Final Fantasy Music! Thursday - Free Open Day for everyone to just do some light RP with one and another Friday @ 7pm to 8:30pm we will do our Uznair Map run for the Festival (LV 70 Maps 8player) Friday @ 9pm to 7am EST we will do a live showing everyone's welcome to sit in on discord! Saturday @ 7pm to 8:30pm EST I will be hosting a Cards against Humanity OR Jack in the Box Party Games until Festival Time Winners of the games will be put into a random drawing to win something special! Saturday @ 9pm to 7am EST we will do our second live showing with everyone, everyone's welcome to sit in on discord! Busy and fun week ahead of us! Happy Festival Week everyone! Here is a report from one of those events: The Shade of Argyle Aldrich - Ryslo's Report Attendance: Wiltorky Cogbright Fafaki Faki Fahne Amariyo Sigmund Lorimer Heinrich Wiseman N'fhite Nazario Ryslo Suramlo The Report Ryslo's team met just outside of Little Ala Mhigo in the North East overlooking the Ruins of Qarn. Here he explained that they were there to try to literally dig up information about one Argyle Aldrich in hopes of trying to figure out what the man was up to in the past to determine the course of what he may be doing in the present. In order to achieve this he broke everyone up into teams of two. Those teams had been setup as follows: Wiltorky Cogbright & Heinrich Wiseman Fahne Amariyo & N'fhite Nazario Sigmund Lorimer & Fafaki Faki Ryslo would remain at the start of the ruins to keep his eyes open for anyone that may approach the ruins. With everyone given orders the team moved toward the ruins and began their investigation. This is what each team found respectively. Sigmund Lorimer & Fafaki They Discovered along the entrance to Qarn's Temple a few traps, one which went off and the other disarmed. What they found that was of interest though was a part of a pillar that was freshly painted with a long line. It looked out of place and with close examination from the pair they realized that the Paint was a marking; with more thorough investigation they discerned that the marking most likely meant to signal someone that a 'Drop' was ready to be picked up. Fahne Amariyo & N'fhite Nazario They discovered a few cogs, wires.. a old rusted communications box. Nothing at first until they found a slab of metal that had been covered up in fresh dirt. Upon removing the slab of metal the pair found a box. Within the box a letter. This Letter seem to be communicating with someone about a Helix101-CB compound - also went on to explain that the Oracles of Empyrean was created and that the tests could commence against them. The author of this letter even said that he'd have a front row seat to the data presented as he had created the Oracles of Empyrean to achieve multiple objectives which one was to include testing. Wiltorky Cogbright & Heinrich Wiseman This pair found nothing at first. Wiltorky discovered the purpose of the ruins was to celebrate the divine goddess of Azeyma; Heinrich found dirt and rubble. Though as both got more into the investigation they both seem to discover two separate black bags. Heinrich had found his first and utilized aether to try to discern what was within the bag only to see that the bag was reacting to his aetherial search by shimmering with a bronze color as gold threads woven into the bag seem to react (Gold has a way of dampening Magick). When Heinrich opened the bag a black crystal was found within and it had been activated which immediately moved to drain Heinrich of some of his Aether before it shattered and turned into particles of dust. Wiltorky's bag was never opened but between both of them they concluded a black crystal was most likely within it too. After the Discoveries Fahne and N'fhite went to where Ryslo was first and found him knocked out by some sort of threaded needle attack. Both of them would be immediately engaged by a 'Ninja-like' character who attacked promptly. They did manage to get word off to the others and each group converged from the ruins and onto their location. While they engaged this figure, an Armored Garlean also entered the fray and the conflict quickly ensued. While injuries started to pile up - The Oracles had the upper hand and it seem they would clear the zone of hostiles. Though all while they had been engaged the sound of a distant turbine engine could be heard growing closer and closer to their zone. When it arrived it was clear how these Garleans go there.. a Gunship emerged from the cloud cover above the Temple of Qarn and opened fire upon the group. Explosions tore the ground and a signal for help was called. The other groups showed up; extracted Ryslos team and while a few stayed back to get SIgmund and Fafaki out of there (Had to clear the field of the Armored Individual) - everyone did manage to get to safety (Where the injured would be tended to).
