Verdant Meadows

“Cultivating Passion, Desire, and Decadence.”

The Verdant Meadows <<VM:RP>> was created for those that find that character development and character interaction take utmost precedence when it comes to role-play of any kind. While our adult-theming of a "Pleasure House" comes with it's stigmas, it is our goal at The Verdant Meadows to contribute positively and create an experience focused upon the writing and relationships with both our members and the wider community.

At VM:RP, our mission is to:

  • Create an authentic, grounded experience that focuses upon the Pleasure House theme; where worker/client relationship focus upon the experience and character growth rather than a quick interaction. We, also, do not plan on expanding the theme beyond the business. This means no secret death cults or crime family using a pleasure-house as a front.
  • Cultivate a community for both the Free Company and for the wider community. A place where The Verdant Meadows Lounge is seen as a home for our members and an entertainment and role-play venue for all players across the Crystal Data Center.
    • For now, we're in a recruitment phase, so no public events are scheduled, but we'll be opening doors to the wider community soon!
  • Become a venue to host private parties that collaborate between Free Companies or RP groups. The Verdant Meadows would play it's part in these events as hired Companions/Entertainers/Staff/Venue, but, ideally, would create a larger group RP event for all involved to enjoy. A good example of a cross-collaboration event would be a Bachelorette Party.

What we're looking for:

  • Companions of All Kinds: This isn't a simple courtesan role where you're character is to be treated like a product to be bought, but treated with dignity and respect. Events are lined up to give characters in this role the ability to further develop skills and talents: music, art, social etiquette, and, most importantly, how to defend one's self. In an IC capacity, our Companions have the freedom to select their own clientele: we hope this will encourage our Companions to feel comfortable including personal RP as apart of the larger "Verdant Meadows" story.
  • Security (Limited Recruitment): Known as Custodians in our walls, the "security" role are individuals paid to see that our Companions are well protected within The Verdant Meadows and provide security should it be requested for matters outside of the pleasure-house.
  • General Staff (Limited Recruitment): Not all who might wish to apply are interested in the "adult-theme" of The Verdant Meadows and, thus, we created the General Staff rank. We don't have specific positions to fill, but encourage players seeking this role to be creative! Chef, housekeeper, etc. It's a role to make your own.

The Verdant Meadows is not interested in:

  • Drama, Gossip, and/or Rumor Mongering: It should go without saying that these are undesirable traits. If you cannot share the spotlight, help foster inclusion with the members of this Free Company, or treat players as simply side-characters serving your OC’s story, then there will not be a place for you in The Verdant Meadows. We’re more than happy to bring the development you desire to your character, but not if it’s in a destructive manner.
  • Being a Quicksands Alternative: The Verdant Meadows has an adult-theming, but this isn’t permission to treat it as anything less than any other Free Company. While we want mains, alts, and characters of any level, we’re not a place to park an inactive character. Furthermore, with a focus on character interactions and development, we’re not a place to get a quick ERP fix.
  • Weekly "Life or Death" scenarios: High-stakes drama has it's appeal, but with The Verdant Meadows operating as a legitimate place of business, we are not looking to be besieged by voidsent weekly, participate in assassination plots, or constantly having members whom flirt with death while making it The Verdant Meadows' problem.
