Within Hingashi, talk of an infamous Yakuza gang was whispered amongst the streets of Kugane and beyond, their notoriety giving them means to pursue their criminal activities with more liberal freedoms. Although their work involved malicious acts, those amongst the group had developed a sense of family and respect for both those they served and those they worked alongside, their commitment to one another going far beyond a traditional crime organization.

With the Yakuza group’s notoriety, such a status also offered some challenges that the group had to face: The ties of bad blood amongst rivals meant attacks on the estate, as well as putting at risk the security and safety of those who were promised such when joining the Yakuza family.

As the group continued to focus on both their own criminal pursuits as well as assisting the leader of the Yakuza gang with means of keeping the estate and one another protected, tensions began to rise. With rumors of spies and informants working within the gang, what once was vengeance began to be twisted into paranoia and obsession, the leader beginning to put their goal of killing their rival above the well-being of those who were in the Yakuza family.

Whispers of concern were uttered amongst those within the gang, some afraid that the talk of a spy was true, some questioned if the leader’s obsession with vengeance was starting to cause them to become unstable, and others were starting to believe that the benefits that was granted within the Yakuza group had become compromised. As such, some began to seek out employment once more, continuing their work as a freelance criminal or furthering their pursuits wherever the wind took them.

A few moons later, however, those who had branched off from the family would find an envelope from Mihva Lyehga, the letter being offered with a gold koban. The letter would offer an address to an estate, along with the mention of wanting to meet with others from the gang to have a discussion about possibly working together once more...
