Mayumi Shiro Posted August 14, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 14, 2013 So ive got a character with a wonderful tribal name..except I'm not 100% on the pronunciation. Basically I'm asking how you pronounce the L' in front of the name. In this case L'saralia. I know this seems an odd question..but I cant wrap my brain around it. It doesn't help that ive had people say it three different ways. Link to comment
S'demyx Tia Posted August 14, 2013 Share #2 Posted August 14, 2013 On the naming conventions for the wiki stub of Miqo'te it says that the L sound is pronounced as a short "Lee" So it'd sound like "Li-saralia". Or you could use whichever you want! Maybe a "Leh" or "Luh" sound. Link to comment
Ildur Posted August 14, 2013 Share #3 Posted August 14, 2013 From the Miqo'te Naming Convetion thread in the FF:XIV lore forum: Pronunciation-wise, other than the tribe pronunciations listed above, names follow common English phonics. Though followed by an apostrophe, the tribe sound is usually flows into the name. O’raha would be pronounced “o-RA-ha” not “OH. raha” EDIT: Ninja'ed by S'demyx. Link to comment

Adolar Posted August 15, 2013 Share #5 Posted August 15, 2013 For female Sun Seekers, the first letter of their first name is pronounced based the tribal alphabet listed in this thread: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/61150-Miqo-te-Naming-Conventions EDIT: This applies for both genders actually.
