Asyria Posted August 26, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 26, 2013 The game is asking me for a pre-order code... I never got one. Thought I didn't need one. I'm Lagacy, registered in september 2010 with collector's edition and cancelled dec. 31 2011... That's easily 3 months. My 1.0 characters got their cool tattoos too. So... Why am I not able to access the game now? Link to comment
Firae Posted August 26, 2013 Share #2 Posted August 26, 2013 To be fair you really are not missing much mate! As the servers are all screwed up anyway. Don't despair though as SE is on the case, and Working their asses off to help us get back in the game. Though i do hope you can sort out the code so you can at least get all your bonuses! allgivenover Posted August 26, 2013 Share #3 Posted August 26, 2013 Did you ever receive a confirmation email confirming your legacy status and the email about your name being featured in the credits? I see you wrote that your account was canceled December 31, 2011. Final Fantasy XIV did not start charging players until January of 2012. To qualify for Legacy status three cumulative months of paid game time was necessary. Link to comment
Asyria Posted August 26, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted August 26, 2013 They started charging for a few months before firing people and going F2P temporarily. I had pre-ordered Collector's so I was there from beta onward and so I did pay for some time before the free period. Link to comment
Sophia Posted August 26, 2013 Share #5 Posted August 26, 2013 I believe Legacy status was only available if you paid for three months after the F2P period. It was the reward for people supporting them after they began charging for the game once again. So I don't think you're actually classed as Legacy, I'm afraid. Every 1.0 character gets the tattoo, though! So that's why you have that. Link to comment

AkhutaiAngura Posted August 26, 2013 Share #7 Posted August 26, 2013 Either way. I believe Asyria is correct - It's 3 months of paid time before X date. the issue with that is that they only charged for one, two months max before it went F2P. I was there as well, from beta untill December - I canceled my account when I heard they would start charging again, because I wasn't interested in playing a (what I considered) still broken game, and thusly I got no legacy either. Tattoos are just for 1.0 players in general. Link to comment
Asyria Posted August 26, 2013 Author Share #8 Posted August 26, 2013 Guess I'll wait 2 more days then.. no big deal but a bit annoying as it will prevent me from being much help with my Gilga FC. T_T Link to comment
Sophia Posted August 26, 2013 Share #9 Posted August 26, 2013 I found this from the Square Enix Support site. So unfortunately if you paid before January 2012 I don't think they counted towards Legacy status. Fingers crossed everything goes super smooth from Tuesday though, so you can get in without issue and get everything to work right away! Players who have paid subscription fees for a total of over 90 days since January 6th, 2012 will be given the following perks. ※This is not over 90 consecutive days of subscription, but rather over 90 total days of subscription. 1. Players can continue to play FFXIV post-2.0 for the legacy price. 2. Players will receive a special chocobo when FFXIV 2.0 officially launches. 3. Players can request to have their names places in the FFXIV 2.0 credits. " Link to comment

Yeah, but that doesn't count as Legacy...Legacy is the people who paid after they went from F2P back to P2P for the reduced price. That was after the first guy got fired and Yoshi-P took over. I don't think you are Legacy.... Edit: Ah, never mind. Someone already cleared this up with you. Link to comment
Asyria Posted August 26, 2013 Author Share #12 Posted August 26, 2013 My dreams of early accessness and paying less have been shattered... At least no one can take my CE from me. Link to comment

That's the kinda.. Go gettum attitude we need around here. ^.~ I'm in the exact same boat. Got my CE, and I'll cuddle with it in the corner. Though, I have EA.. I went and preordered the digital CE for 2.0, too. Though.. I'm not at all sure -why-, because I coulda gotten the EA for a lot cheaper than buying the digital CE from Amazon, like I did. Ah well. I've spent more money on worse things. Link to comment

Asyria Posted August 26, 2013 Author Share #15 Posted August 26, 2013 Double Post! Don't 1.0 CE owner get the 2.0 CE bonuses automatically though? Well, the digital ones, anyway. Link to comment

I am in exactly the same position as you Asyria and I was interested in the answer too, I assumed we would get the CE bits from 2.0 if not I would like to know how we can get them! Link to comment

Asyria Posted August 27, 2013 Author Share #19 Posted August 27, 2013 I got into Gilgamesh early... no queues no problem... Suddenly, a wild ISP maintenance appears! I get kicked out, internet becomes uberslow. I try calling my ISP but ALL their numbers are busy... not "please wait your call is important to us" no... just.. busy. So I figure okay maintenance meh... And I go do some mini groceries shopping nearby. I come back like half an hour later. Internet is back. Both Balmung and Gilgamesh are full. Eff you, ISP. /rant As a side-note... I know many of you are happy to log in early to "save" your spot... that's a pretty damn jerkass move. I understand not wanting to come back from work at peak hour and being unable to play... but try being considerate of other players. Link to comment
Korin Posted August 27, 2013 Share #20 Posted August 27, 2013 As a side-note... I know many of you are happy to log in early to "save" your spot... that's a pretty damn jerkass move. I understand not wanting to come back from work at peak hour and being unable to play... but try being considerate of other players. Hopefully that'll go off soon. As I keep mentioning just to cover my ass - I'm in the EU, I log on at some horrible morning hour to you guys (I think) and I spot no end of AFKers just idling ingame. Which would be fair enough, but...I log out and in from time to time during the day. Say, five or six hours later and they're STILL there. Same place. Even though it's not affecting me in the slightest, it's still pretty annoying mostly because I just dislike inconsiderate people like that. I really, really hope they put in an AFK timer - Not only because of this issue now, but also because of the people that just stay logged in and are impossible to communicate with. TheShii Posted August 27, 2013 Share #21 Posted August 27, 2013 I think they should implement a more effective way to boot afk'ers to free up traffic so other players can get on. 30 minutes afk an you get booted would be good imo. cause sometimes you gotta run a quick errand or maybe just need to eat or shower, you can do those things under 30 minutes. but Aion did that as well (20 minutes I think) but people bypassed it by turning their keyboards over and propping the space bar to jump lol I figure people would do that here as well if they could >.> but there are ways to get passed that as well. It's irritating, I work all the time, and I'm not going to run up my electric bill just to camp online either so during the time I have before work, I can't get on to play because of people that have been camping or w/e It 'is' frustrating. Not even to mention there's no viable time in the near future I see myself able to get on the rp servers at any point Link to comment
