Cosmic Mage Posted September 3, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 3, 2013 Hello my fellow RPs. Its my first thread post... I started this thread to see what games everyone is playing to pass the time between server maintenance and issues of unable to log in. I'm currently playing Records of Agarest War and Diablo 3, when it comes out for console. I tried to do Battlefield 3 & COD Black Ops 2 but those games take me out of my RP state of mind. FFxiv is such a good game MMORPG that games like DC Universe Online & Defiance is difficult to go back to. I guess because of the fact that they're action MMOs but I can't do it after FFxiv. My RPG roots are coming back to surface after all these years of FPSs. So let me know what games you guys are playing while we wait for Yoshida and his team to expand the servers, ready the patches and let us go back to annihilating the creatures of Eorzea. YesGood Posted September 3, 2013 Share #2 Posted September 3, 2013 A few months ago I returned to WoW, then a week or so ago I dropped WoW for GW2. At the very least, GW has taught me to avoid standing in one place and trying to kill things-- mostly because it just doesn't work. Ever since I started talking with a friend from the RPC again a few days ago, my drive for FFXIV has returned full force. I have a computer that can run the game well, good internet, a tablet, and I can finally afford to buy it and maybe, just maybe maintain a subscription. Then I find out I can't even buy it until this whole mess is over. I'd still be playing GW2 to help pass the time but I can't seem to bring myself to do it. I'll probably take up doing a bout of tablet sketches for play L4D with my cousin for the next two or so days. Q_Q My pretty Mesmer... she fades... Link to comment
Dravus Posted September 3, 2013 Share #3 Posted September 3, 2013 Usually it'd be WoW and GW2, though recent events have led me to uninstall both games due to my strong feelings in regards to some of the more questionable business practices and tactics that they've been employing. Skyrim has kept me busy lately, as has the occasional bit of Minecraft, Vagrant Story, Dead Island and Final Fantasy XII. I've also got a pretty huge backlog of games I need to get around to playing but since they're not exactly the 'pick up and play' sort they've sadly been left to gather dust! Link to comment
bamcart4 Posted September 3, 2013 Share #4 Posted September 3, 2013 I...um...downloaded a PS1 emulator and started playing FFT. Currently grinding those early levels to crazily outlevel the main story lol Buy a Vita and play it on there ! The PSP version has cutscenes and voice acting oooooooooh. I honestly always felt that Tactics Ogre was a way better game than FFT. I am not saying I didn't really enjoy FFT though, because I did. I just think it had a superior battle system and story. Hansem Wildsteel Posted September 3, 2013 Share #7 Posted September 3, 2013 Wow for my part, but also investing this free time to have a suitable backstory for Hansem and creating his wiki page. Link to comment
Naunet Posted September 3, 2013 Share #8 Posted September 3, 2013 I spent a good chunk of time in Rift today. If tomorrow and the days after are anything like today and the days previous... it's where I'll continue to be for quite a while. *sigh* Link to comment

Currently grinding those early levels to crazily outlevel the main story lol That's how I play FFT too. I remember having a few crazy teams like all ninjas and all samurais with different sub abilities. I have the NES, Super NES and SEGA emulators on my laptop. You're making me want to go back and play crono trigger or FF1-3. While we wait an eternity for SE to open up the flood gates. I'm on PS3, so I bought a refurbished backwards compatible PS3 had a friend beef up the storage by 200 gigs. Next pay day I'll buy an afterglow controller and I'll be good to go. btw try out an emulator and relive so good memories. imo the Super NES. Link to comment

Dogberry Posted September 3, 2013 Share #11 Posted September 3, 2013 Poker Night at the Inventory when I want to hang with a glass of scotch and a nice smoke. Nothing like playing poker with all my favorite cartoon characters. Kerbal Space Program pretty much every other time. After many lives lost and several dozen pretty explosions, the Kerbals have finally launched a satellite into orbit. The Buttnik Probe program is considered a success, and now we will move on to launching random objects at the Mun. Link to comment
Nhyra Posted September 3, 2013 Share #12 Posted September 3, 2013 Today I picked up Journey as I have heard so much of it. Gotta admit that a working game is such a relief after the server ruckus. Bf's been playing this Kerbal Space Program and is now trying to figure out some strategy game for us to play... But what if I want a fantasy mmo >> Link to comment
Asyria Posted September 3, 2013 Share #13 Posted September 3, 2013 If you guys love FFT, consider grabbing the PSP remake. It has more speshul classes (like Dark Knight! or was it Black Knight? and Onion Knight) and another cool special character (Luso) and is better translated. Link to comment
Z'karu Posted September 3, 2013 Share #14 Posted September 3, 2013 Rayman Legends came out today, I'm probably going to be killing time playing it I also picked up Killer Is Dead, I'm amazed a Suda 51 game flew over my radar, I loved Killer7/No More Heroes Link to comment
Eckzein Posted September 4, 2013 Share #15 Posted September 4, 2013 http://games.adultswim.com/pause-ahead-puzzle-online-game.html You'll have to sit through an advertisement but 'pause ahead' is neat little free title on adult swim games. Soundtrack is pretty beast too. Link to comment
Fystrael Abylstyrwyn Posted September 4, 2013 Share #16 Posted September 4, 2013 Rift although it's becoming boring fast now that my old guild is essentially in ruins. Recettear, which is entirely too entertaining for its own good. The Cave, which is black humour done so very well. About to stop whining and drop everything to get back to my fanfiction though. Ideas keep popping into my head after an extended drought. Link to comment
DAISHI Posted September 6, 2013 Share #17 Posted September 6, 2013 I pretty much play and beat Ghostbusters: The Game at least once a month. Link to comment
Hunter Posted September 6, 2013 Share #18 Posted September 6, 2013 Lately I've been playing a lot of XCOM: Enemy Unknown with my free time (when I haven't been able to play FFXIV). However, that'll probably change next week with Kingdom Hearts HD, and then the following week with Grand Theft Auto V. Link to comment
YesGood Posted September 6, 2013 Share #19 Posted September 6, 2013 I've recently decided to go back to a bit of GW2 while I wait for digital downloads to become available (because I don't want to risk buying a hard copy for extra money and not being able to play anyway). So is there anyone who's playing on Tarnished Coast by chance? Link to comment
TheLastCandle Posted September 19, 2013 Share #20 Posted September 19, 2013 Relevant again with the maintenance going on just when I'm able to sign back in! I've let myself get drawn back into Kingdom Hearts with the HD Remix having come out here recently. It's proving quite an experience; this is the first time I've played it in about a decade, and with the revamped visuals it really feels like a brand new game. Not to mention one of the best openings ever to grace a video game: zJHkV27zdvs Link to comment
Sev Posted September 20, 2013 Share #21 Posted September 20, 2013 Ah for me, it's mainly been the big two that gobble up every little bit of my time, those two being.. Rome 2 - Slaying filthy barbarian massive and dirty Romans in the name of glorious Carthage, true rulers of the Mediterranean! War Thunder - Link to comment
elisan Posted September 20, 2013 Share #22 Posted September 20, 2013 I spent a good chunk of time in Rift today. If tomorrow and the days after are anything like today and the days previous... it's where I'll continue to be for quite a while. *sigh* I also have dedicated characters in Rift, on Faeblight. I logged in last night during the down time on FFXIV and was immediately assaulted by an instant adventure I didn't choose to join smack in the middle of Meridian. I was not amused. I love my Faeblight community and the game itself is still fun but I really really hope that the cities are not continually assaulted in that way. It makes crafting very challenging Link to comment
Covikt Posted September 20, 2013 Share #23 Posted September 20, 2013 Too many games, too little time D: Though I have more time since my internet decides it doesn't like FFXIV combat for some reason. Basically, until I get a hardwired connection for my PS3, I'm stuck either gathering and crafting and you can see how that might get a tad boring after a bit ^^; Luckily, I have been biding my time with a bit of streaming and such. Usually playing just fun games Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2(I played it all yesterday for Talk like a Pirate day. YAR MATEYS!), Final Fantasy XIII (^^; ), Rogue Legacy, and other games. I have a massive backlog of handheld games I really need to finish, and with Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies finally having a release date, I really need to get on those Link to comment

It makes crafting very challenging That was part of the 2.4 world event, and you'll be happy to know that it was bugged. The mobs were not supposed to be level 63; they were supposed to be scaled in some manner. Trion did a server announcement about an hour and a half into the whole thing that they were taking it down until they could fix it. That said, I hope they return it soon, because I have always adored Trion's handling of world events. ^^ They always make me feel like I'm really a part of something huge. Incidentally, I'm still playing Rift quite frequently, especially during the day. If you're ever online, you should friend Naunet and Ravni, my two primary characters! Link to comment
Dravus Posted September 20, 2013 Share #25 Posted September 20, 2013 Skyrim continues to suck away most of my gaming time when I'm not playing FFXIV, since I promised myself I'd replay it and make notes to help forge a solid character concept for when TESO launches. I'll likely play both, but between FFXIV and TESO I'll be spoiled for choice since both are very much to my tastes. I'll be replaying Oblivion when I'm done with Skyrim. I also dabble in Dishonored from time to time as it's a very intriguing game in my eyes. I love the atmosphere. Link to comment
