Lindblum appears to be a fairly "safe" choice. Doesn't seem like too many large communities are heading there. Core is pretty well split between about 3 servers it looks like. No reports of the any major potential griefing communities heading for the server either.

 

This is of course assuming that Lindblum stays in its current lead. There are still quite a number of people who haven't voted and we could still be surprised. But it's slowly looking like Lindblum may become our home server at this current rate. Besaid is looking like the overflow server so far.

My experience is never take 2 on top or bottom one in server list. They tend to be most popular and usually full of griefers, but then again thats just my experience.

I'm keeping a close eye on this, as I'd like to be able to announce the unofficial RP server in my column this week. The earlier it gets around, the more people will plan around the basis of the RP server, either to seek it out or avoid it.

Though I find it funny we started out on Jehct, which was FF10, and now its city is like, "Yeah, if you Roleplayers want to come back to the source, we are here."

It wasn't corny! Corny could be taken as vaguely approaching quality.

 

Seriously, VIII shows up dead last on my list of games in the series, which means it ranks worse than Tactics Advance, the NES version of 3, and Mystic Quest. No one would ever choose it intentionally. That was my whole thought process.

If airships win, as I've seen someone mention, Mysidia should get more vote. They had the Lunar Whale! the airship that carries its own Fat Chocobo and could go to the Moon! Go Mysidia!

 

I have to admit though, Lindblum as Oglop-Cid so I wouldn't complain...

 

To go back on what Siben said though...

You're the one who started the thread with what groups are going where so don't be surprised if people react to that.

On the other hand, I entirely agree with what you said . Whatever server we pick, we RULE it. We're not going over there, to carefully watch the potential griefers and elitists from behind a rock... we're going there to CONQUER in the name of RP.

We just need to conquer nicely and in a friendly manner.

With a bouquet of flower in our hands.

And an army of heavily armed RPers at our backs (in case they dare dislike the flowers).

Not sure http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Diabolos_%28Summon%29 in summonable form anyway its FF8 as Im fairly sure the FFVI remake on GBA was after that...

I loved VIII. I thought the story was very enjoyable. The battle system was terrible, but the story is why I play these games.

I wish it had just stopped there. I really do.

 

It wasn't just that the romance scenes were wholly extraneous, it was that the characters involved had precisely no chemistry with one another. You knew that Rinoa was the love interest because you were told, repeatedly, that she was cute and charming and funny. We never saw her actually being anything aside from petulant, spoiled, and astonishingly stupid. Combine that with the fact that every single character in the game essentially acknowledged Squall and Rinoa as a couple from moment one, and the whole thing felt forced.

 

I'm going to stop now before this becomes a page-long off-topic rant.
