Assassin's Creed Black Flag!

Recommended Posts

I have SO many games already that I'm not sure I'll have time to play it.

I'm currently playing Splinter Cell: Conviction and trying like hell to beat it before Friday so I can pick up Arkham Origins.

On my plate, I still have:

Legend of Zelda: Windwaker HD

Dragon's Crown

Lego Marvel

Pokemon X

Playing console Diablo 3 with the girlfriend

I have some others that I don't really recall at the moment, but that's currently what's resting in the "I wish I had time to play you" pile. I just KNOW that if I pick up something as hefty as Black Flag, it will take AGES for me to beat it. My college work is getting in the way of such greatness ;-;

Me personally, I've played all the entries... but have completed none. I can't hold attention long enough until I get bored.

It's probably the whole anachronistic approach, I rarely play anything period based that isn't at least fantasy elements or such.. and the whole plot felt just "heh" to me. It was too dry for me all together. :( I tried it at least!

Although.

Pirates. And Assassins are Ninjas.

Pirate Ninjas.

I might pick it up and play as a Pirate Ninja. That's different then the usual.

That's the thing. I like Uncharted, I've played other exploration games like Tomb Raider and such. Stealth based games like Tenchu, Metal Gear, and hardcore Stealth like Splinter Cell (and mid-range as it can be both; Dishonored and Deus Ex) and enjoyed them all.

Just something about Assassin's Creed just... turns me off, no explanation as to why.

I love the premise of the AC universe, how it scientifically explains all of humankind's myths and legends. Though 1's repetitive gameplay drove my ADHD insane. I loved 2, Ezio is just a awesome protag and frankly that's probably the reason I played him in Soul Cal tounies.... moving on! Black flag interests me with the inclusion of pirates and black beard but jeez I have far too much on my plate every one else here.

I got ARR here, just no getting into the home stretch of getting Dragoon to 50, Diablo 3 console with buds every so often. Pokemon Y, the DICE fanboy in me is going to squeal in delight on tuesday with Battlefield 4. Not to mention Batman arkham origins...

Jeez I have too much to play.

Pirate Ninja xD

Its actually a lot less ninja-like at this time... you dont even get throwing knifes :(

ya Im dreading AC4 getting here and me having the conundrum of what to play,

although its safe to say I will lock my house down and hermit myself the first day

its here.

Well pirating is awesome, but the new story is kind of... well bad. They just wated to set this one in the pirate age and just made up the story as they developed the game...

...i think it should be the other way around for a really good game. :)

I god damn love AC: Black Flag. It's like Assassin's Creed had a baby with Sid Meier's Pirates. The freedom to just sail anywhere and take pirates, or hunt sharks, or dive for treasure while doing missions is amazing. Frankly, I think the plot works better in this game than other AC games because the history gives us actual leeway to do what whatever they want. The AC games bothered me when they did things like put Leonardo DaVinci in a different city than where he was historically at the time for no reason, or set the Boston Tea Party IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. Also, the non-historical aspects are entirely optional so I can just pretend that the characters I've never given a damn about in the AC series don't exist. I've always hated the modern plotline. I've always wished that the AC games were just straight up historicals. This looks about as close to that as we'll ever get.
