A trek into the expansive, icy wasteland of Coerthas.

A coalition of scholars and adventurers will set forth to unearth information on a forgotten primal.

Notes on the flora, fauna, history, nobility, bloodlines, architecture, and dragons will be taken down, written  exchanged, and published in an accessible format.

A little teaser on an RP idea floating around in my head.

Feedback would be appreciated!

I had one thought while reading this: Want.

Why was it so impossible to find other people who wanted to roleplay that kind of character when I actually roleplayed an ecologist in TERA? x.x Q to the massive Q.

It actually occurs to me now that we might be hard pressed to find fauna in Coerthas.

xD

But the idea came from the suspicion that a Shiva battle will be implemented in this region in some form.

Another spin could come from the rapid climate change that Coerthas has undergone in the past 4 years. It use to be a temperate, green mountain side after all.

Love the idea.

I was not aware of this. It is perfectly plausible to say that a primal is the cause now. Thank you for this information.

Well, a primal was the cause but that primal is assumed to be Bahamut at the moment  ^^

When the Calamity occurred a huge wall of ice came down from the mountains, destroyed everything in it's path and the falling shards of Dalamud altered the climate. It is known to be creeping toward the north shroud though, so something is going on.

The Ixali are based in Natalan in Coerthas, and their primal is Garuda.

I like this idea! You get a gold star!

The only feedback I have to offer is not on the idea itself, but rather your posts... The formatting of your font is a huge strain on the eyes. =x (I knew if I didn't say it, somebody else would've...)

Also R&D means research and development...

The size or the color?

Serif is largely smaller (hehe) than the default font, so it looks really small. I suppose I'll just go plain for now though.

At any rate, I think the expedition is still worth it. At the very least, it is one place to dig into looking for Shiva. I wish more people dug into the whole primal thing. I like the concept of a Garuda SUM going deep into East Shroud and attempting to clear the touched ones, or even perhaps opposing character factions under each Primal.

Did I hear Primal R&D RP? Because I think I heard Primal related RP...

I am not sure what R&D is, but yes, most of my character relates to researching beast tribes and primals. Do I have a colleague now?

Indeed! I have made understanding the nature of the beastmen and their craven gods my purpose! Sometimes to... less than ethical ends. But all in the name of research and understanding! And that's gotta count for something.

Have you been sacrificing humans? -__-

No way man. That's against my alignment!

I actually have a character whose job is to research primals and tempering. She suspects an unknown primal (OOCly, Shiva) may be in Coerthas (in addition to Garuda).

She would be very interested in exchanging notes on primals.

It's worth noting Coerthas does have fauna and flora. It's also worth noting Ishgard may not appreciate foreigners poking about in their lands, especially where nobility, bloodlines and history are concerned.

Feel free to add me at any time then. I am eager to RP out this kind of research.

Aeriyn would be interested in this. :D

My chara, Aeriyn Ashley, is a black mage and a scholar of aetherial matters, one who studies magic in its myriad forms, but specifically focuses on the study and data-collection related to corrupted aether. It's for both personal and professional reasons, but she would fall all over herself to join a research expedition to Coerthas.
