little-patchy Posted December 5, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 5, 2013 I ran across quests where I was given several choices to answer a question, such as one with a "wild rose" password and another, in the "Coming to Ul'dah/Limsa/Gridania," where we mention our purpose for becoming an adventurer. I wonder if our answer affects our progression in any way? And if the answer doesn't matter, should Square-Enix make some of them do so? Link to comment

They don't adjust outcomes in any way I've seen other than changing a bit of the conversation, as some of them happen during story cutscenes they can be skipped entirely without any effect on progress. Then viewed at the inn so you can see the differences. 1 Link to comment
LiadansWhisper Posted December 5, 2013 Share #3 Posted December 5, 2013 The answer you give during the "Coming to Gridania" intro quest determines what kind of ring the NPC gives you. For instance, if you answer "Fortune," you get a level 1 crafting ring with 8 CP on it (which is kind of huge since the first rings you can get for crafting are like, 15+). There are two other rings, if I'm not mistaken, but I forget what their stats are. 1 Link to comment
little-patchy Posted December 6, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted December 6, 2013 Thanks for the quick replies! I always worry about these kinds of things in games. Link to comment
Gharen Posted December 6, 2013 Share #5 Posted December 6, 2013 Yeah, the starting ring I wasn't privy to, the times that the options pop up are relatively few, It is something I'd wish they'd use more often even if it only changed a tidbit of dialogue. Link to comment
