Raiding Free Companies

Hey, guys.  In recent weeks, I have been looking for a free company that was RP-related (thanks a lot for all the replies to that, by the way!). However, what with me now feeling like I've found the group of people I would like to RP with most and not needing a free company to do so, my trail of thought has changed ever so slightly. I'm interested in an end-game free company with progressive raiding (and could ideally teach and bare with me as I learn Turn 4 and Twintania in the Binding Coil of Bahamut).

 

There are two main reasons I decided to ask on these forums, rather than in-game hotspots such as Mor Dhona:

 

1. Everyone here is so awesome, I reckon I'd have more chance of finding the patient criteria here. To elaborate, I have not yet defeated Turn 4, yet I have an okay grasp on the strategy.

 

2. Wouldn't it be super awesome if there was a free company out that that did both end-game content and roleplaying?! This place strikes me as the most likely place for that, if such an awesome thing exists.

You could check out Unity if you'd like. Its stated focus is more on being a safe place for LGBT players, but we have quite a lot of end-game raiders and RPers in the FC.

AFAIK, Night Blades and Unsung Heroes are RP free companies that also do extensive raiding. I've also heard that XI:7 has started doing Crystal Tower and Binding Coil raids, but my information on that may be a bit out of date. On a personal level, all of them are very spiffy people.

Freelance is correct, XI:7 is doing both Crystal Tower and Binding Coil of Bahamut these days.

 

If you'd like an invite to our OOC LS, let me know. The FC is RP, but the LS is just for chatting and setting up RP/PVE/etc. 

 

We are currently on Turn 4 ourselves. We're just sort of getting people geared up enough to tackle it at the moment. While a lot of us love doing end game stuff, we're not super in a rush to clear everything.

 

In either case, hope you find more people to do what you're looking for! I've always been a big fan of endgame content alongside my RP, so I know why you'd want to look for a like minded company.

But yeah here is a mostly accurate status of Unity's endgame. The third group, Aether, is actually currently in the process of forming, so now is an excellent time to get involved!

 

It is a 'safe-space progression guild'; which really boils down to mean that we're an eclectic bunch, who are serious about raiding/endgame progression. We do regular Coil (at least one of our groups is working on t5 now) and EX Primal runs. It's a pretty chill/patient/supportive environment and while we're an OOC FC, we have a lot of RPers in the company ranging from Light-Heavy.

I'm actually extremely glad you popped up on the thread as I was just talking to Jana and she said that you would be someone to go to for further information.  But rather than ask you for further information, I figured I'd give you some more information on me. Namely, my availability for RP/End-game content.

 

Main Character: Asgarn Wastbyrtsyn

Main Class: White Mage (Item Level 82)

Timezone: GMT (I am available Monday evenings through til Thursday evenings, the occasional Friday, dependant on work, and weekends.)

Notable Gear: Most of the Royal Vest set, Allagan Circlet and Boots of Healing, Thyrus Zenith, Hero's Necklace of Healing, Astral Ring, all other accessories are Darklight and working on them.

Current Progression: Binding Coil Turn 1 - 3 Completed, Learning Turn 4, Garuda EX Completed.

 

Uhm... I'm aspiring more towards the Allagan set than the Cleric set for the pure fact Roegadyn look like crap in the Cleric set and look quite good in the Allagan set. Of course, if I am required to go Cleric, I shall. Though, from what I see, they even out stat-wise.

The Cleric gloves, pants, and boots are better than their Allagan counterparts.  The Allagan hat and chest are better than their Cleric counterparts.

Sorry. I was at work and unable to make a post. Yes. Unsung Heroes does in fact Raid and have heavy roleplaying tendencies. We're usually pretty active and always looking for more folks to join or static coils, which we have a few varied times right now. One of our groups is currently on Turn 4 of the Coil.

Most of the above a plentiful potential Free Company that does roleplaying and do end game at the same time. 

 

My Free Company is trying to approach to that step, but I feel that it will be still a long path with lack of recruitment. People are always welcomed to join my FC and apply for end-game and hope to create a static group. Visit the following site if you are interested. I was going to chime in here on behalf of Dawn Vigil, but I see Liadan already has, haha. We do have a lot of tanks and healers, though I believe our second raid group does need a healer. The only thing stopping them from raiding is getting the static group together. If anyone else is looking, we also need dps!

 

For the record I think we qualify as patient, end game roleplayers! Our groups are usually very relaxed.

 

Oh, and by the way, while Dawn Vigil does have an RP element, you can still join up without joining the RP if you worry it'll ruin your character's story. We also have non-roleplayers in the FC (they're respectful) as well as roleplayers who aren't ICly part of our trading company.

 

Our first group has gotten as far as the snake phase in Turn 5 (which is what we're currently working on) and we've been taking the main tank from the second raid on our first raid occasionally to show her how the fights work. As far as the primals, we just got Garuda Extreme down earlier this evening! Our primal groups are normally whoever happens to be on at the time, although we don't do the extreme modes quite as often on casual raids.

Dark Embers is doing progression raiding/PvE content, though we've not started Coils as a full FC yet - should be doing so in a week or two. We ended up with a lot of newer individuals who weren't fully geared for it, and we've been getting everyone caught up. We're currently getting everyone their Ultima and Garuda Ex jewellery as well. Once everyone is caught up, we will be keeping up with the content, however.

 

 

We're also a medium-to-heavy RP FC with an in progress FC storyline that will actually give us an IC reason for being in BC. If you're interested, we're having a meet-and-greet on Sunday - send me a PM for more information on that.

I wouldn't mind doing a bit of raiding myself, though given that I live in the EU and operate on an erratic schedule I wouldn't be able to devote myself to attending every raid that is set up. I'm also in the process of getting the last four levels I need and then I'll be gearing up my dragoon! I don't have any experience with anything beyond the Praetorium, honestly. I had to take a break around the same time that I got my bard to level fifty, then I came back and realised I didn't like the class and fell in love with a dragoon instead.
