Clover Posted August 13, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 13, 2014 (I apologize if this has been posted before. I haven't found anything). SE brings everyone the chance for their character to appear in-game as NPCs. http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/topics/detail/d510fd3313ebe943ce55e61ad7c3132cfe3d7e99 Personal thoughts: From the sound of it, this contest doesn't seem to be RP friendly. The description of your character is very brief as if they didn't really care about them, and they state that "the exact length and nature of any appearance to be entirely at our discretion". Basically, they can add whatever story and personality they want for your character. It sounds more like a gift for non RPers, for this might be the closest thing to their characters having a soul they might ever achieve. This said, it's still a cute idea. I've participated with K'mih, since she's a simple character and I wouldn't really care about what they do with her. Clover wouldn't be suitable for any quest due to her silent and strange personality. That, and the fact I'd never leave her in hands of a random person who doesn't care about her to start with *laughs*. Are you participating in this contest? If so, what character are you choosing and why? Link to comment
Nyx Ashkala Posted August 13, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 13, 2014 I'll do it, but I have to pick between Nyx, A'ria, and G'iselle, and that's daunting . Link to comment
Warren Castille Posted August 13, 2014 Share #3 Posted August 13, 2014 I will be. If they get the gist, I can be happy to be a part of the world beyond being in the credits. If they completely retool Warren into someone he's not, then that gives me a mistaken identity angle to work into my own story. And it'll be canon. Link to comment
little-patchy Posted August 14, 2014 Share #4 Posted August 14, 2014 "...will select...based on originality and creativity." Hmm, I wonder how creative a person can get with 50 words and five or so screenshots, but there are some very clever people. Maybe it's more about entertaining the judges than advertising your character? At least, that's what I'm thinking of doing (the entertaining thing). I pretty much only have one fleshed-out character, so, Ame, it's time to get photogenic! Link to comment
