While Mel isn't necessarily a mage (or says he isn't), his studies/experiments DO revolve around aether. Aaaand while he may not truthfully be kind, in public he certainly does act it. If you require someone for the part, I could definitely throw him in there for you and he'd likely get done what you need done!
