Bidding Rules:

 

Upon arrival at the front gate to the amphitheater you will be asked to wait line in front of either Lady Seraphine Winter or Lady Eva Ianeira. When it is your turn you will be given a quill and parchment where you may write down your opening bid for the date(s) of your choice. Once you have turned in your bids you my proceed through the gates to find a place to sit.

 

When the volunteers are presented on stage the current winning bid will be announced at the auction will start at that price. When the auctioneer allows the first round of bidding to open, if you would like to challenge the current bid please raise your hand and say how much you are willing to raise the bid. The highest bidders price will then become the new starting bid for the second round and the same for the third round if needed. After three rounds of bidding, the auction will cease and the winner will be pronounced by the auctioneer. Remember, you are only allowed to make one bid per round so make sure you make your bid count!

 

Once you have made a successful bid, please step forward and trade Lady Eva Ianeira your gil and receive a flower to give to your date. Remember, once you have won an auction, you may not make any more bids. Participants may bid but must understand that they are required to go on both dates they have agreed to.

The auction will work much the same as it does IC with one exception. When you wish to place a bid, please send a /tell to Eva Ianeira with the amount. Again, you can only make one bid per round and if you accidentally make two, your first bid will be the only one accepted. This is to help keep Eva's chat log cleared and ensure that no one's bid gets missed.

The date has been fine for me for a while now. I don't know if it's the fact the site hasn't been loading properly since the upgrade despite deleting all my cookies for the site and refreshing the browser while on the pages. However, that's about to change now...

 

A Few Last Minute Announcements:

 

Time change-

 

First of all the time has been changed now to 4:30pm EST, 9:30pm GMT. I'm sorry for the sudden change and inconvenience but it really can't be avoided ><

 

Participants must arrive 15 minutes early to receive instructions.

 

Co-hostesses-

 

Last minute once again, but the co-hostesses will now be Eternal Darkness and Rynn Limley. Eternal Darkness will be greeting you at the stage gates, taking donations, handing out carnations, and introducing the winning bidders to the volunteers.

 

Rynn Limley will now be taking bids and as such has made changes to the bidding process. She has more fortitude then I apparently :lol:

 

Bidding Changes:

 

The bids will now be handled more like a real auction. Each volunteer will start at 10k, and continue upward until bidding has ceased. Everyone must send ONE bid per round by sending a /tell to Rynn Limley. For RP purposes you can indicate a bid by /wave or other appropriate emote.

What you look for in a date: to reiterate, someone who doesn't take life too seriously and can laugh at themselves. Other than that I'm fairly open to trying anything once. If I absolutely had to choose, then I'd say anything that leaves room for good food and good conversation. I'm up for most activities but its actually nice to talk on a first date, get to know each other... whatever really. I dunno, as long as they're nice.
