Maril Posted February 4, 2015 Share #1 Posted February 4, 2015 Heya! Sorry if this is already a known issue but, I have noticed that sometimes when I got back to edit my linkshell hall topics, the editor erases some of my spaces at seemingly random points. So for example if I've written "them at" in a place, it makes it looks like "themat". I don't know if it's because I tend to copy the text in from a document or what, but it's starting to get on my nerves a bit because it takes time to sit and find and fix It's exclusively in the linkshell hall that I've experienced this problem. I wanted to also ask if there's anyone who has the same issue, just to root out the possibility of it being something on my end. I use google chrome as my primary browser, but I have no idea if that's got anything to do with it. Link to comment
Shayrei Posted February 4, 2015 Share #2 Posted February 4, 2015 I have the issue too. It's any forum though. So long as I'm copying text from a word document and pasting it into the text box here the formatting goes a bit wonky. I've just started combing through the post again and previewing before submitting. Link to comment
FreelanceWizard Posted February 4, 2015 Share #3 Posted February 4, 2015 I do believe the problem is in one of the text editors and has to do with pasting text. I'll admit, I don't copy-paste much, so I haven't had much of an opportunity to suss out the problem. I would be curious to know what browser and editor people who have this problem are using. Your current editor selection can be viewed from the User CP->Edit Options page, under "Which BBCode editor to show on post pages". Link to comment
Maril Posted February 4, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted February 4, 2015 Mine is set to "MyCode Editor" I tend to always write in a document/google docs first and then put it onto what-ever-site it goes to, because I have a real habit of accidentally closing my tabs/browser and other such related bad luck. This is the only site that I'm noticing the issue I described. Link to comment
FreelanceWizard Posted February 4, 2015 Share #5 Posted February 4, 2015 So, let me dig a little deeper, since I'm having trouble replicating this. Does it work properly in Internet Explorer or Firefox? Does it only happen when you copy-paste from some sources -- for instance, if you type it up in Notepad, then copy-paste it, does it work, but not when you copy-paste from Google Docs or Word? What's your OS? Anyone else who's having this problem, feel free to chime in, too! Link to comment
Mae Posted February 4, 2015 Share #6 Posted February 4, 2015 Maybe one out of every ten posts I do here, I'll have this happen to me. Usually for me, though, it's an entire spacing break between paragraphs; only occasionally is it between words. It will happen to me if I'm copy/pasting from the text box here while I'm typing a long post and switching paragraphs around, or if my connection is acting like it's gone down just after I hit the post button and I'm scrambling to copy my text before it disappears into nothingness. I have also noticed after I've hit 'preview post' a few times, it'll start cropping up. Link to comment
