  1. Uh... now I'm getting the 1017 "World is full error" when I press Start, what is this voodoo magic?
  2. I just got in through a 30-second queue ten minutes ago. They didn't scrap anything! I'm not even getting a queue. I'm getting a 1017 error that states that the world is full and that I should try another world or come back later. This is frustrating truly but I'm trying not to lose patience.
  3. Everyone is handling these downtimes pretty well I would say. I can't say that I didn't expect them with the influx of players for the Early Access when the game is technically only a couple of hours old officially. It's like a baby and thus we should treat it as such. For myself I'm gonna continue to work on Penelope's wiki page!
  4. I just got kicked after teleporting. Sometimes I can get to the loading screen right after you pick your character but when that happens I get hit with the 10102 error. Besides that I get hit with the 90000 error.
  5. You're right! The servers are up! There is a queue though, that is to be expected.
  6. Welcome to the forums! If you ever need help with your roleplaying be sure to send me a qucik /tell or even add me. My IGN and character name is Penelope Rundall. I'll be happy to RP with you and I'm sure many others would too! Have a great stay and good luck in FFXIV, servers are back up in 1 hour!
  7. I'm sitting in the lobby, sorry guys. The NA/EU servers aren't loading for me yet. So I don't think they are up!
  8. I set alarms, three to be in-fact all set for 3:30 my time. Time to get coffee!
  9. I would like one too... please! Image: http://i1349.photobucket.com/albums/p758/rawrzieslol/DERIMMER-PC/screenshots/baa637a7-328b-417b-b071-eeddc41d0846_zps7c3c4a9e.jpg
  10. I think it looks well, even if long. It seems people shorten a lot of things regardless of length.
  11. First of all thank you for the response! Also I find it a bit ironic that "Penny" gave her 2 cents , I hope that we will find a LS that fits our characters personalities. I will have to look more into the Mysterium since my character, Orin. is a hot headed healer who typically find himself getting into trouble with his attitude, perhaps the Order could help tame his power. But then that leaves out the brother of Orin, Ceser (go figure he actually is my brother) who is the one who bails him out with the end of his spear facing the enemy. Anywho thanks again! No problem! And, that is a bit ironic, I hadn't noticed, haha. I'm always around on here. I just don't post too much but that's starting to change! Also, if you want, both your brother and you can add me in game if you want. It's always great to have great RPers on your friendslist. That way you can give 'em a quick /tell whenever! ^ ^
  12. Being a history buff and such I'd say: The Triple Entente! But don't listen to me, I'm hyped up on Monster.
  13. Hello! I can give my two cents on what your problems are and such. 1) When finding a linkshell to fit into you should think about what your character wants too. I'm not saying to join a linkshell that you, as the player, won't feel comfortable in. I'm saying that if you think the linkshell is good/all right - most are good in my opinion - you should think about what you want for your character and what they would want if they had a true conscious and such. For example: My character, Penelope Rundall, is a unusually happy, perky, nerdy, mage figure who, deep down inside, will do anything for her magic. Thus allowing herself to be drawn into a lot of darker, twisted things in order for her magic to continuously grow powerful. With this she may be joining The Mysterium - a linkshell in which it is promised that her powers will grow with the nurturing of Masters of certain schools of magic. 2) I've seen a nice bit of "World RP" and yes it is a beautiful world. Tavern RP is cool and all, I agree, but sometimes it just gets too cluttered in the chat box for me to handle. That's when I try to seek out RP outside of the Ul'dah, Limsa Lominsa and Gridania. All three of those worlds are pretty inside the city and out. During Open Beta and Phase Four I witness and went through World RP out in the hot springs in Limsa or out in the forest of Gridania. So, there isn't a lack of it but I do think there could be more. Though, I believe that will be addressed as soon as Early Access and Official Release are out. It gives people time to find said locations for World RP and when they are found there will be plenty of it! 3) A constant state of IC is hard to pull off, it is sometimes. But, that doesn't mean it's impossible. Sometimes people want to go OOC to grind and level, like myself at times where I just don't want to RP. But, just because I don't want to doesn't mean that I will decline an offer to RP. An offer to further my character's story and further develop them. The constant state of IC is only true for few people, though. Sometimes when one is progressing through an instance or a raid they want to focus on the progression and the grinding of it. Thus, not allowing or not wanting to stay in IC mode for the majority of it - if at all. 4) From what I've seen Lore Adherence isn't a problem. There are a few that have non-traditional names for their races but that can be easily looked over at times. And if someone is lore bending or not making sense with their character and the mashing of said character with the lore then you'd do best to run away. 5) RP PVP is some of my favourite coming from the world of Guild Wars 2 roleplay on Picken Square. We RP'd PVP constantly. There was always a battle to be had and everyone was quite good at it if you seperated the meta gamers and godmodders from the rest of the nice, nice people. People knew what their characters were capable of and they wouldn't force another player into something that they didn't want to be apart of. That said, RP PVP shouldn't be too hard in FFXIV: ARR. I look forward to the little bouts of scraps and skirmishes that are bound to happen between rivaling Free Companies and Linkshells or even rivalling characters. I think it is entertaining and can cause for some great character development if your character wins against their rival or vice versa. 6) I haven't seen many or any closed off and inverted Free Companies and Linkshells. Every linkshell here is open to many kinds of people if their characters are interested in the linkshell and if the linkshell is interested in what said character has to offer. It hasn't been too hard to get into a linkshell based on what I've experienced. In my opinion, and something I follow myself, if a LS doesn't want me or doesn't show interest in me or my character then I won't be bothered by it. I'm sure there are plenty of other "fish in the sea" that want you. 7) This community is very close knit and I can only imagine the possibilities of more interaction between both servers once Early Access and Official Release are out and proud!
  14. My contribution to this: HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG!
  15. EDIT: I may have been pronouncing it wrong - the surname that is. Mind giving me a pronunciation for it? I'd give it a 7/10 simply because it doesn't roll off the tongue so smooth. It is a great name though. Don't let my rating get you down! ^ ^ I like it because of the first name. The surname, not so much. My turn, right? Penelope Rundall is my character's name! Do your worst!
  16. That sounds like a wonderful character. I'm sure my character's would've loved to despise her or even join her if the cards were in their favour! You're write about those four points though. Villains are just pickpockets need time to establish before they are recognised by the RP world as evil or just a no-do-gooder.
  17. Welcome to the forums and have a fantabulastic stay! Don't be afraid to say "Hi" to everyone and make friends. Even if official launch is a week away - so close yet so far - it doesn't mean that you're out of time to make friends like doctorgalatic said. There's always enough time to scurry around and make IC and OOC connections!
  18. After spending a good chunk of time searching for the song for Penny, I have finally found it. It'll be Fingerprint by Leona Lewis. Uvvi0E4KMcA I chose this song because it has a deeper meaning for Penelope. Seeing as her father died in the calamity she has been stricken with grief for the past five years since the descent of Balmung. Penny puts on a face that reads cheerful, great, amazingly spontaneous and adventurous but under that - only seen when she's alone - is the darker girl that she had become after her father's death. Penny being so close to her father during her childhood caused her to build her life around him and his persona only to reflect it as she aged. But when this core of her person died she collapsed on herself without something to support her. In turn, she became this darker girl who only masked the hurt that she was feeling and still is feeling. This reflects in her class choice as well. Mainly she is a healer - that happy, carefree and charitable person. But her Thaumaturge abilities of destruction are powered by her grief which can be reflected in her RP. ((Sorry for any depressing thoughts and such by now. Of course, as time goes on her theme can change when and if her personality changes.)) And for when she isn't being all depressed and such she's more like this: l9KvNxkTz28 It can be argued that Sunleth Waterscape should be how she feels when recovering from her depressive area but I feel wishy washy on that and probably would agree with it not being or it to be that. If that makes sense.
  19. She has taken the assumed Name Arete Sophoi because she doesn't want to be seen as another stupid "tribal" Miq(I figure with all the ages there was time for some period to have had a language in the past that was vaguely greekish). She's overconfident and probably not quite as smart as she thinks she is. She's working on learning all three magical arts with arcanist the primary focus(From the class quests its played as the most intellectual of the three magical arts). She definately thinks of herself as mentally primary that doesn't mean she won't dabble outside her quest goals but I am generally going to treat any time she's playing in any DOW class as weaker than other members who are more primarily that. That's generally what i have currently, I haven't had much chance to see how she'd play off of other rpers during the weekend. This sounds interesting. If you plan to play on Balmung maybe we can RP together to get a personality hashed out. I would like to try to RP with you. The sage concept is a good one! Yep I rolled her on Balmung, my desire to deal with the most populated server was not strong and I actually like High level peeps both from an rp sense as "Those are the guys in the know already" and from a mechanical sense. as for getting a personality hashed, its come to be my perspective that every plan I have for a character is quickly redefined by her interaction with others, they properly take on a "voice" once they have interacted with others. This is true! I hope then maybe we can get together this weekend! I would love to! Not so much a scholar type more of a curious person who spends a lot of her time in the books and scrolls. Her father was a thaumaturge who was quite the wiz when it came to history and magical research. So, following in his footsteps and honoring his death after the calamity she left her quaint home in Gridania with her mother to move to Ul'dah (her mother went to Limsa - her father's hometown). She's already got a lead in Conjuration due to her mother's family specialising in healing aether. I've had some time to think of her backstory so much due to beta's being so far apart. T~T
  20. Hmm... I'm sure Penny (Penelope) is on the way to becoming a sage. Though, she wouldn't be as random as the example depicts. Her history only calls for her to be sage and possibly an archer when the time comes.
  21. I. Basic Info Characters: Penelope Rundall Primary character: Penelope Rundall Linkshells:Corvus Civus, Intermission Primary RP linkshell:Intermission (ATM) II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium to Heavy (Mostly Heavy) Views on RP combat and injuries: I prefer realistic in-turn combat but I won't be hesitant to call another player out for meta-gaming or godmodding in a fight. Rolling is alright with me depending on if a serious wound is going to be inflicted or not. Though, all serious wounds need to be agreed on beforehand and ultimately if one's character was to die then that REALLY needs to be agreed upon. Views on IC romance: IC romance if fine with all the PDA and such. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Family ties are fine as well. Penelope already has some friends from her past and would likely have more if they are from Gridania. Views on lore: Try to stick to the lore, please. I'm not saying that you can't swerve out the lines a bit because that's how RP evolves but if we're jumping to things that weren't even mentioned beforehand in the lore I will have a problem. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I mostly RP in /say /party /tell and sometimes in the Linkshells depending if they are RP or not. I mostly use /tell as communication through Penelope's linkpearl. III. Other Info Country:United States Timezone:-6 CST Contact info:Er... here? 22. Hey everyone! I'm new the site and new to Final Fantasy RP in general. I've just made a character on the unofficial RP realm seen at the Welcome Desk area thing. I do ask for some help settling in - I made a Miqo'te, Keeper of Nocturnal named Nako Sunsong. I need some help settling in and looking for people to RP with. I'm an experienced RPer due to RPing in SWTOR, GW2, World Of Warcraft and on various forum sites so I'm no newbie to RP just Final Fantasy RP. Thanks!
