For those of us who don't know, could we get a short explanation on what GameBreaker is, and what exactly this announcement entails?

I love these kinds of roleplaying ideas, and I'd support it 100% if it weren't for the moogles. Besides the one or two people whose characters distrust moogles, I can't imagine this courier service would get much interest or notice considering that the moogles do the same thing for absolutely free. I just can't see a courier service working out ICly. EDIT: Not to say definitely don't do it, but if you do, keep in mind what sort of competition you're going up against and plan accordingly. There might be a lot of fun to be had by having a rag-tag courier service on troubled times, or a service that specializes in jobs that require secrecy and discretion. Moogles are timid creatures, so maybe a courier service that will brave whatever dangerous areas or territories it must to get messages out to where moogles dare not go?

Taking it to party chat only works if you have 8 people or less, not to mention that people rely on the /emote command a lot in roleplaying and not everyone likes trying to simulate emotes in asterisks or switch to paragraph form. I'm not saying that ignoring someone when they're trying to roleplay with you is alright, but if you do something that people see as rude, they're more likely to do something rude in return. It's human nature, and it happens to the best of us. All I'm saying is that if you want to err on the side of caution, sending a little message asking if it's okay can go a long way.

Personally, I don't feel like being annoyed that someone jumped into your RP without making sure it's okay with the group necessarily makes you a bad roleplayer. Not all private roleplays start out private, and people have been known to use public areas to represent private areas that cannot be accessed. (People's houses for instance) Not to mention that just jumping in like you own the place would seem a bit rude to anyone, and for all they know you could be another griefer (they've been known to jump in pretending they're going to play along and end up doing something ridiculous like undressing their characters and doing inappropriate things to your character). Simply sending an OOC message or a /tell asking if it's alright to join in wouldn't hurt you anybody else, and it shows that you respect their space. You'll be treated with less hesitation and annoyance, and you'll find that people rarely refuse to let you play. Some people like jumping in, and that's fine, but you probably shouldn't expect everyone to be okay with it, and you definitely shouldn't write anyone who isn't off as a bad roleplayer.

Also, are the tables for the "view new posts" search breaking horribly for anyone else when there's something from the linkshell hall listed there?

Hasn't it been a while since we've been keeping up with these? Hmm... At any rate, this time Bayohne takes the reigns of the developer blog to reveal at least two of the different colored varieties that Carbuncle will come in! I do hope there are more colors than just two, though...!

Hello everyone! In order to prevent a foreseeable problem, Xenedra is going to help me spam this thread with a bunch of blank "reserved" posts. Please disregard. -
RPC Mentorship Program ( PLEASE READ FIRST POST )

First post has been updated. Just a reminder for our Mentors, please try to make sure that the last three fields on your short form are around 200 characters or less (or 600 combined). Also, feel free to post a link to the Mentor Program in welcome threads if it seems like the new member might benefit from it! -
In order to help streamline the process of finding a mentor, we've created a new thread, and will therefore be locking this one to keep as an archive for later reference.
-
Great news, everyone! We've reworked the Mentor Program thread to help make things more streamlined and easier to use! Unfortunately this means that all the Mentors will need to fill out the short form to make it easy for newcomers to see who's available and who would be the best fit for them. So if you were listed as a mentor in the first Mentor Program thread and would like to continue to be a mentor, or if you weren't and you'd like to be a mentor anyway, please head over to the thread so you can read the guidelines and fill out the new short form. For those of you who wrote out a long mentor post on the previous thread, don't worry, the short form is meant to be brief, but you can place your old post in the spoiler provided. We hope that this will make finding a mentor an easy and painless process. ~Ellie

Hmmm... what's the steal chance for the Sweet Roll? >.> NO, none of that. Shame on you.

I hope you're proud of yourself, you big bully. If the Geneva Convention existed in Eorzea you'd be drowning in sanctions right now. First Aid Kit Gauze, tape, needles, thread, salve, all the essentials. Hi Potion It's always nice to have one of these. Sweet Roll And he was saving it for a snack. Now he'll never get to eat it.

RPC Mentorship Program ( PLEASE READ FIRST POST )

For our mentors... First of all, it's awesome that you're considering being a mentor! Everyone knows how awkward it can be to jump into a community that's just full of people, and not know where to go or who to talk to, and the fact that you're willing to help is part of the reason this community is so great. Here are some of the basic guidelines... You're not here to recruit new members into your linkshell. Feel free to recommend it if they don't have a preference, but don't try to pressure them if they don't want to join your linkshell. Ideally you should try to help them find a linkshell that they'd want to be in. Being a mentor is not a position of authority. You're not getting deputized here, you're volunteering to help those who need it. Please be courteous. This should go without saying, but do try to keep your mentee's needs in mind. Try to give them as much one-on-one time as you can. Please let us know when you take on a new mentee. In order to make sure we don't let newcomers fall by the wayside, we'll want to keep tabs on who has a mentor and who doesn't. Feel free to PM me or any of the other moderators. If you can no longer dedicate time to mentoring, or if you've got as many mentees as you can handle, please tell us. Again, please tell either me or any of the other moderators and we'll move you to the "Temporarily Unavailable" section. No sense having you on the active mentor's list if you're not looking for mentees. Now that we have that out of the way, all that's left is to get your form filled out and posted in the thread. In this way, we can help streamline the process by putting the important information at the forefront while still allowing you to express what you're about in detail should they want to learn more. In order to keep things short and easy to read, we must ask that you keep the "Characters", "Style of Roleplay" and "Strongest Skills" answers short and to the point. Try to stay around 200 characters for each answer, or 600 characters combined. If you need more room to explain, expound upon it in the spoiler.
