hardest dungeon? i don't know. i've had tons of trouble with Dzemael Darkhold, but because of tanks and heals. However, as a PGL i LOOOVE the second boss of that dungeon. I get to dance the night away. Hardest boss? has to be Chimera. He eats PGLs. EATS THEM. Once i was overgeared, he was super easy( for cutter cry) but for relic quest, it's a pain. I need to watch out for each head and act accordingly, no anouncement in the chat box >_<.

I was there for a little bit. I got a little overwhelmed, and it was my first time RPing in game. I actually was in costa del sol when i logged on so I was really surprised to what i saw.

I'm actually more worried about the long term effects in the weeks to come and reviews inbound. With this and the toxic SE Forum community on tech support, I worry new buyers may be wary of joining the game like this. All will be forgiven from the community once they possess better logistics. Word of mouth will bring back players (hopefully a majority) since it is a well-made game, although. There will be players that won't get into it since it is rather slow when you're starting out. This is nothing more but growth pains that everyone has to deal with. Honestly, the hardest part about this launch for me is that this was the game i wanted to try out roleplaying on. I went gilg because it was a fresh start for everyone. Now more and more can't play on gilg. However, I would give square a ton of respect if they give everyone 1 free server swap that started on launch, when they actually release server swaps.

not a terrible idea. There will be some hate from the japanese community of english speakers being there, however, it does have the space to accommodate a large population. Hell, if enough RP people head that way, there's a possibility that the majority of english speaking players would be RP players.

Yes, well, we know that it's all just whining as far as you're concerned. I let it pass the first few times. But this is getting ridiculous. There was one post that was borderline whining, so i pointed it out, explaining that what that poster wanted to do would be hard and difficult and it would take more work than "hoping" to get done. Then I get a flurry of posts from people who say "that my post was meaningless and had no purpose in this topic what so ever" in which THOSE posts actually had no merrit, but I let that slide. Now, i agree with someone who actually put the things I believe into a better worded format, and I get called out for an earlier post that im pretty sure you already harassed me about. Then when i put more content into my posts, it gets ignored but the previous post still gets quoted instead. I swear, every other thread in this website are entitled roleplayers who only want people who agree to them and beat around the bush when it comes to talking bluntly. I'm sorry, I call it how I see it. Sorry for getting derailed. Anywho, it will be hard for everyone during this time of server congestion. I especially feel bad for those who had early access and it turned into something more like "server beta 2.0".

You are literally saying here that you don't want people who can't currently get on to Gilgamesh to be able to play at all. Does that not strike you as a little selfish? Hell no, I want them to come to Balmung. I've always been for uniting the community. A third server is an absolutely terrible idea, unless it's temporary, and from the sounds of things, you don't want it to be temporary. I am currently locked out of the game as well. Within a week, you guys could all be on one of the already chosen RP servers. Instead, you are being impatient. Why? Because you can't level? Because you're "falling behind"? It's not a race, and we're ALL experiencing server problems right now. This is just asinine. I chuckled at this...sorry. My head is odd. ikr it's hilarious isn't it Y'vali Seriously. If you guys choose a 3rd server.. well. Whatever, I guess. If progression is that important, have fun progressing? QFT

Clearly you didn't actually read my posts. I said that I can get onto Gilgamesh, and that I have a character there that I have put a lot of time into. I just don't want to play there if other people can't. Sorry that the capability for empathy is so confusing to you! Also if complaining about people not being able to access the game is 'whining', I don't know what complaining about people complaining is. Hm...Maybe I read it wrong. But you still misunderstand what I mean. I wasn't being snide. You have two choices: create a new RP community to start afresh in a new server (or possibly transfer) or wait it out. If you wait it out a few days (possibly a week) the server issues should be fixed a bit(due to launch). If you can't or chose not to wait, you have a long road ahead of you. Unless you move to behemoth then its just finding that group of roleplayers. While Gilgamesh has more players from many groups deciding to go there, it also brings a lot more livliness. An issue of going to a barren server is that within a month or two the community will usually die out and a server merge will take too long for the devs to construct. I chose high pop servers because after the first few months the player base becomes stable without being too populated. The downside, of course, is full servers at the get go.

You know, I wrote out a huge response to this, but then I reread your post. I'm sorry you can't get into gilg. I'm sorry you're going to have to form a small coalition of players who don't want to wait for gilg to open up in order to start RPing early, it's a ton of work. However, stop whining. Just do what you got to do.

lol it's launch week. Servers are always full, people are always jerks on chats. It's the way of the MMO. Just hold steady and see what happens after a few weeks.

Welcome dude, im in the same boat. I'll be honest i haven't even roleplayed yet, i got too into the questing and the game during this beta. however, I can't wait. it seem's like it will be the best way to play this game.

To be honest, Reddit shouldn't be too much of a problem. I've been using /r/ffxiv for months, and most of the community there is friendly and helpful, and when I first jumped on, I put up a topic asking about RP, and was greeted with quite a few replies from people telling me where to go, linking me to this site and a lot of people who will also be RPing. It'll be 4chan thats a problem, if anything. 4chan is....a weird site. it's a message board that's honestly helpful and insightfull if you know where to look. Or it could be a mess of bad trolling and people trying to be edgy. it's been around for a while, and the OGs there are not the problem. After the "reddit and 4chan war", if you can call it that, tons of immature redditors went to 4chan (since they just learned that 4chan was the site reddit was getting their "memes" from). Turned the shithole into an even bigger shithole, and people think being mean in a non clever way is what trolling is all about. it was a sad cycle to watch. Anywho, think of it this way. It's not the redditors or 4channers that are bad. It's the young stupid ones. All we're seeing is people being "edgy" and hating on stuff they don't do. That's the least of our worries. What we need to do is build up our community. They don't have to go away for us to have a good time. We're a new server, with new people, starting new adventures. We can either sit around and cry about all the hate we're getting, or just do what we do, and include those that want to join. Fair and simple.

So that's nothing new. A few griefers doesn't' make an entire server hostile as there are three starting cities. So you don't know what's going on in each of those. Heading back in now. Oh and just to let everyone know Blacklist works now. It wasn't before but it is now. So blacklist till your hearts content if people are messing with you. *walks around Ul'dah, spams shout for rpers, blacklists a few idiots who weren't trolling but are just idiots, and goes back to sleep* Night. ohh, you're mousie

I already picked gilg since im new to RPing and I don't really want to use my old 1.0 character. BRING IT ON! Anywho, I thought something big was going to happen, like a massive attack on the game or something. I mean they did some decent damage to ToR, so i was wondering if this was going to be the same case. Guess not.
