  1. I may be at the next Friday - but I will certainly be at the next Saturday. Coming in hot! Get me some people for Asha to punch in the face!
  2. Saw the Laughing Lady while eyeballing some houses. It looks good! I really enjoyed the ground floor.
  3. I show up every other week - and every time there is a healthy number of fighters (8-16) and spectators (4-10). Any issues that crop up get resolved - and every week things (time between matches, explanation of rules to fighters, gil transactions) get smoother and smoother. Grindstone good.
  4. Very fun night to all involved! Really appreciate people taking the time to form it up, moderate, and judge! Also special thank you to those watching and to my two guild mates, Rhogog and Haru, in letting me beat them up. Also to Tierith Hawke for some awesome moves! While I cannot promise 100% attendance - I will say I will do my best to be part of this as much as possible!
  5. The player and the character see nothing wrong with anything on this topic.
  6. I must say - it was fantastic. While at the beginning there was a huge amount of people; that was good. While waiting on the "do not have a group" crowd, I ran into a gentleman by the name of Tausenadel Geispyrysn, who through an emote of giving him the shake down, he introduced himself we hit it off smashingly. From there, we parted ways when tables were called, but quickly met back up and had a grand adventure of traveling throughout the town looking for booze. When we were about to give up, we caught sight of two young women who, after a dagger throwing display, showed they may know where the alcohol was. One was a little overwhelmed - but the second gave us just what we needed. It was a magical moment of a bunch of strangers, doing strange things, playing strange games with strange ideas of strangeness! I congratulate everyone who put the effort into doing what they needed to do. I did not volunteer for anything, but I can say that any craziness that may of happened behind the scenes was hidden from me and did nothing to ruin the atmosphere or the joy of walking up to people and pretending I knew them - just to get a "natural reaction." If you were turned off by the numbers or by the confusion, you missed out! Do not be afraid of the chaos - for in chaos you find order! In closing, thanks to Makayla for being our character's savio(u)r and closure to a grand adventure of two men just trying to get a drink! Hope to see more of these: small, large, and everything in-between.
  7. I'm in the same boat. Bought from the Square Enix store - received preorder information - but no "after" registration key. Nothing in my spam folder, nothing from findmyorder.com, and the seemingly sparse information on my actual Square Enix show that... I guess I do not exist? Weird. EDIT: No longer weird! Found my registration code buried in the text of my availability email, after a few links that were in dire need of a tinyurl make over. Though, I did try the findmyorder.com site and it was unsuccessful. Unsuccessful I say!
  8. I. Basic Info Characters: Solkasha Blynfyrsyn (Blessed Order, Son of Blind Fire) Primary character: Solkasha Blynfyrsyn Linkshells: TBD Primary RP linkshell: The Grim Echo II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Heavy. While I do get to know those I regularly play with - I prefer first impressions to be either through character interaction or through players talking about future character interaction. I like to think of myself as easily approachable, but I've consistently been told I intimate people who come at me as anything other than fully prepared. I enjoy action roleplay; that is roleplaying while we are playing the game. I'll do the inn and event stuff - but understand if we're doing that... I'm thinking it would be a lot better if we were doing this while throwing rocks at monsters! Views on RP combat and injuries: I believe if you want to fight through story content, and not game mechanics, it is best on the forum or something with an established ending spoken about between two parties. Example: If Solkasha and the Great Decapitator are going to have a bar brawl, I will speak with the Great Decapitator's player and figure out how far he/she wants to go. If we're just going to give each other some bumps and bruises, then I don't care how we do it - I just know that we're not busting out fireballs or shotguns or giant bladed weapons. The destination needs to be established - but the travel is up to our imaginations. Views on IC romance: I have no problems with it, though I'm not actively seeking it. Anything that happens I will make sure the other character (or characters - it's 2013 folks!) are comfortable with it or it will be stopped. I will only do fade to black scenes - not interested in giving away my sexy time SEEKRITS! Guy, girl, cat person - both the player and character do not hold onto more traditionally minded feelings. I will warn now - whatever you type my girlfriend will read. She is nosy... and scary. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): If you have a good story, I'll listen to it. Right now I'm primarily focused on fleshing out my character and his interaction with The Grim Echo - but if someone has something creative I have zero problem with changing my character's back-story to accomodate someone else's idea. I'm not married to what I have - so if you have a better idea - I'm onboard! Views on lore: I am not an expert on Final Fantasy XIV lore - but I will be. I prefer things to be lore-based and within the confines of what the producers and game designers have made. I do not mind branching from it - but if Square Enix says there are no waffles in the world... then I don't want you to make me waffles. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): If it is not in brackets (()) {{}} [[]] <<>> ** ** :: :: - then it in character. Unless it is a specified OOC channel, then I expect IC. Shout and random party invites are the exception - just because I RP does not mean I expect non-RPers to. I will respect their decision... though chances are they'll have to respect me still RPing with them! Bwhahaha! III. 9. Within the alphabet is strength! MORE letters!
  10. I like the teaser of your character introduction - look forward to reading more!
  11. Ha! Careful when you're chasing the dragon! I know the feeling all too well.
  12. Introduction post! Through the powers of friendship and cautious approval, I am one of many from an eight year old gaming community that is deciding to branch out from World of Warcraft and into Final Fantasy XIV. I've been a roleplayer since the first time I opened up the Red Box. From tabletop to Prodigy Classic to MMOs and their community sites - whatever game I play I enjoy immersing myself in the lore and the environment. Over the next week, I'm sure to post some stories (read: 1), though my forte on the forums is usually game design and encounter mechanics. For roleplaying, I always prefer in-game interactions - especially when out and about adventuring. Anyone can write words, but the real challenge is writing words while trying to smash face! I look forward to the Gala and whatever else comes between then and now. Closing statement!
