  1. Apologies for the confusion! I'll put a note at the beginning of the article. The info's there, it's kind of buried at the end of the first paragraph at top of the page (can't remember the wording exactly but it's along the lines of 'three villages appear to be the oldest and will be the focus of this article/study' or something like that. I'll make it more clear! Thank you for the feedback!
  2. Is someone a Kingkiller Chronicle fan? *laughs* No, I'd never heard of it actually! Happily adding you folks to friends once ya'll get in game, give me a wave if you see me on the grid!
  3. In Balmung in Gridania! Hope to see you folks on the grid!
  4. Balmung must have filled in the three minutes my reload was on cooldown. -.- Ah well. I have a wiki now!
  5. Omg that sounds so good. ...There's a pho place down the street that also has boba tea.
  6. Think of all the things you can do during this time! You can: Knit a mouse cozy! Work on your character Wiki! Draw chibis! Create a million different character appearances! Play Sushi Cat! Figure out how to code a 3 minute timer to remind yourself to click the "Reload" button in-game!
  7. Yay so many people! Your character might know C'Rhisi from: One of the bars in Ul'dah, where she's danced and tended bar for the last 2 years or so. She has worked in several of the bars/dance halls in Ul'dah and currently does a 'circuit' every few weeks. The coliseum- she enjoys going and watching matches. Gridania- about 2 years ago, C'Rhisi spent a fair amount of time in Gridania, learning about the elementals native to the Black Shroud and studying with the Archer's school. C'Rhisi goes -anywhere- there are stories being told. She loves listening to old drunks (or young drunks!), veterans, bards, whatever. She'll follow a song or a story across town the smell of good baking!
  8. I'm playing the waiting game too! My SO got on Balmung first thing this am but I waited till this afternoon to create. Keep an eye on https://twitter.com/FF_XIV_EN to see when the restrictions drop or just keep updating the server list and you'll get in!
  9. So, this is taking much longer than I expected. *laughs* My own darn fault, I like details. Anyway, the Wiki entry for the Coeurl Tribe is UP. As mentioned before, this is something I've created so folks can use it, if they want, as a resource for backstory or just as a 'hey, that's neat'. It's not meant to be an end-all, be-all for the Coeurl tribe (and that is actually mentioned in the wiki itself, that it's focused on a subset of the tribe). It's the culmination of a great deal of research on various indigenous cultures world-wide with a focus on desert/plains dwelling people with modifications made for the sociobiology of more animalistic beings. I hope people enjoy! http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Coeurl_Tribe Edit: *falls over dead* Okay, the page is finished. It's not pretty yet and there are still some details and gaps and things but I think I need to work on something else for a bit.
  10. Cool! What I have been working on is basically going to be a Wikipedia-style entry for a subset of the tribe that folks can use for their backstories. I'm not planning on creating a linkshell at the moment, I just like anthropological/sociological stuff so I've done a -lot- of research and put something together that I'll hopefully post up today or tomorrow so folks can look at it, give feedback, and if they like it maybe use it if they don't already have backstory or details about their character that they'd like to have filled in.
  11. I made a thing! ...She doesn't have a name yet but it will start with C. >.>
  12. I go with the 'turn off nameplates' and roll with it crowd, personally. If someone is playing an alter-ego and I, the player, recognize them but my character is a bit oblivious, then I should play that and not recognize them. If my character is quick on the draw, then I should play that too and go "You know, you look awfully familiar." Of course you'll have slip-ups from time to time and people who intentionally meta-game to make their characters -look- smart from time to time, unfortunately that's the way the more subtle RP goes sometimes, but I think it's -really- fun to play with those types of characters and have to figure out how much my character (quick or slow-witted) will catch on to.
  13. All of my this. I'm interested to see what the new gent does, it's kind of nice to see an older fellow in the role. I, too, would have loved to see a female Doctor, but here's hoping for the next regeneration to be one! If Moffat's still in charge we'll frankly -never- get a female Doctor.
  14. YAY! Thank you guys! I'll get to post my character now and have an avatar and everything.
  15. I've seen several people posting their screenies of their characters from the benchmark, however when I try to take a screenshot using the 'Print Screen' key and pasting it into Photoshop or Paint, all I am getting is a black image. Is there a special trick/keybinding?
  16. Ah, excellent! I was going to make the info I'd created public of course so folks could 'borrow' from it as they liked, but if there was organization along the lines of Hipparion going on (which is AWESOME) then I wanted to make sure I knew about it so I didn't mess anything up. I'd rather figured they were a bit more like nations, or more like the native people of N. America where they all have a similarity (the Souix Nations for instance) but lots of individuality amongst the families. Anyway, I suppose I should have said hello, too, this being my first thread and all. Hello!:moogle:
  17. Just posting a quick question to see if a bunch of people have started creating anything for the "C" tribe. I've got some plans in mind that I'll be posting as they're a bit more refined and I want to make sure I'm not stepping on toes. Thank you. FS
