  1. As someone who's main character is a tomboy, I'm not too trilled on the female miqo'tes' either.
  2. Saturday, June 7th at 7:00 est, Berserk will be having it's first IC training session at Summerfords Farm in Middle La Norsea. For the first hour or so, we will be doing some IC warms up such as jumping jacks, push-ups, jogging, even some sparring, as well as teaching and caring for some of our weaker and less experienced comrades. (there my also be some food and drinks of course ). Basically, kind of like Tavern night for Disciples of War. Afterwards, we will be doing some ic fate grinding and clearing some of our hunting logs too. Depending on who people will be joining as and what level they are, we be do a little migrating from time to time. This event will be good for those who are currently leveling there DoW classes, finishing their hunting logs or collecting atma. Anyone can join in on the event, even non Berserk members. For those who are normally mages however, will have to in-character, switch to a Disciple of War class, even if it's just for a day. I do not mean to discriminate against mages, but this is a Berserk event, meaning gaining strength is our priority, and the whole point is to get some exercise ic. Besides, magic is cheating. The only time magic can be used is for healing, but even then, someone has to be dying. Like literally dying, as we are also teaching how to dealt with pain, and how not to get too careless. Q & A: Q: Can we make request regarding where we need to go? A: Absolutely! We will be prioritizing lower leveled character though but we'll try to get to you as soon as we can. Keep in mind that if to happened to need an atma in that particular area, you're welcome to try and go for it there. Q: What if my character is a mage and they have no interest in psychical training? A: Wimp! Q: How mean... A: Well I'm really sorry, but like I've said, this is a Berserk event for DoW. If you want an event for mages, go ahead and make your own, or join Phoenix Down. I'm quite sure they have plenty of mage events for ya! As usual, feel free to ask questions if you have any!
  3. I just wanna thank everyone for the constructive and mature post so far, even the Bulmung guys. Not that I was even afraid of you guys flaming or anything. This may in fact, help the Gilgamesh community become a more lively and overall, better environment.
  4. That's alright, next time! It was my first opportunity to interact with anyone, so I enjoyed observing as much as I did participating. I hope my post didn't come off too 'canary in the coal mine', since I realize a lot of effort is put in by players such as yourself to make things happen, which is greatly appreciated! ----------- As for Gilgamesh being 'dead' as some posts may have insinuated, I think Chiyo actually meant to say(correct me if I'm wrong) that the RP community is becoming diffuse as more and more people lose interest. I do not think Gilgamesh is dead or dying, but it needs some love. Not everyone is going to stick around, and that's alright. With that being said, I think there are strategies we can employ to rectify the open world RP issue. Something that may help is communicating some commonly-known, easily accessible hubs on the forum so that players are aware of them(The Quicksands is generally regarded as a hub on Balmung). That means areas in the open world, not just a linkshell. While it is neat and fun to hang out in our FC housing all the time, this doesn't lend to our visibility. Roleplayers are a keen group, they will do research and create a character specifically for their experience. Giving them some knowledge and useful tips will help new people stick around. I would also refute the notion that people leave the game because they are bored of playing. Not everyone is bored with ARR, plenty of FCs on other servers have players with full AF2, taking on endgame content like Binding Coil every week and waiting for the next Live Letter to come out. So sorry, blaming the game itself is not going to change the state of roleplay! Sure, less open world roleplay is a #FirstWorldProblem. But it is our problem. If we want to see it change, it's our responsibility to find proactive solutions. You would be right on that aspect. The event wasn't just for my zerkers, but for the community as well. That's why I didn't even require real gil transactions. Granted, the event may seem all over the place for some (then again, Chiyo isn't always professional, lol) but the whole point was to invite some rp opportunities. Which I felt some people here needed, as well as make new friends. I didn't really mean to sound pessimistic, but I feel as though I should spread awareness for my fellow Gilgas out there. I will admit though, I haven't been faithful to some of the lore as of late (nevermind my character's name), but some of the stuff it kinda hard to follow as it isn't terribly well written at times... >.>
  5. A few days ago, me and my rp buddies briefly discuss the state of our main server, Gilgamesh and how it was (from our perspective at least) slowly deteriorating and how people are slowly losing interest in the community. For the past mouth or so now, people have either jump servers, got bored if the game, had real-life issues or ultimately become inactive. Whatever the case may be, while our beloved server may not exactly be dying, it is having a little bit of a depressing... My free company, Driftwood Coast is one of the leading rp companies in Gilgamesh. Just recently, three of one of our most well known members of the coast has lost interest in the game and has sadly moved on, and will be missed dearly. We have lost a few other members before, but seem, if not most have made some sort of impact on some of our characters in some way, mine included. Some of with are the sole reason we still play today. When the game was coming out, I was debating on which server I would be focusing on. I choose Gilgamesh because I've never played 1.0 and building up a community from the ground up was an interesting idea. Starting out, everyone seemed more than willing to get involved, even if it was our first time rping in a game. As the months went by, we've lost some of our people, but still maintain a friendly and interactive environment, hosting almost as much event as Bulmung itself. But now, more and more people seemed to be losing interest, even if they haven't admitted it yet. I may have came out as paranoid about this, but I wanted to know what everyone thinks on the matter...
  6. I hoped everyone enjoyed this little event of mine. Just so you'll know that this isn't just for opening up new role-play opportunities, but if you ever need any assistance at all, be it dungeons, trials, even raids, we'll do what we can to help with all of that. Many of us are experienced tanks anyway (and apparently, those are hard to come by) so keep that in mind. Also, if you have any complaints or criticisms at all, let me know. Like I've said on my last event, I'm an inexperienced host, so if there's anything I can do different, let me know. That way, my next event will be even better! I feel like I can do better anyway... Pardon all those typos. Side note, I forgot to add the person that bought me. lol
  7. I'm sorry to here that, Lalah. I've decided to have an IC meeting held shortly AFTER the event. If you guys can stay on long enough, I'd greatly appreciate it.
  8. If all goes well, the meeting will take place sometime next week, probably around the event. But if not, one will be planned the week after.
  9. I'm thinking of having an IC meeting sometime before or short after the auction on May 10. Hopefully tomorrow, but if not, very soon. You guys in?
  10. Front: Rear: Front w/o Bandana You're a great artist, Zhavi. Can you make sure her lips don't stand out too much, and without any make-up?
  11. I'd like her from at least the waist up if possible, and maybe colored too, but I'll settle for non-colored. I try not to be too demanding especially if people are doing it for free. I'll post a picture of her tomorrow. Can I see some of your work?
  12. Would anyone in Gilgamesh by chance be willing to draw Chiyo Hoshi? I'm willing to pay you by gil up to around 150,000 gil...
  13. Changed the date to May 10th so that it will take place in a Saturday.
  14. Thanks for the offer, Zaiaku, but I was hoping I'd do this in Gilgamesh. After all, I'm on that server the most. ...Anyone else interested?
  15. After the release of 2.2, I finally know what I what Riven Stars to be (sorta): A retainer... or maybe even a maid... So if anyone's looking for an actual retainer to interact with, just holler. I kinda want to experiment with this... Edit: Silly me, I guess I should have posted a little bit about her first... well basically, she was once one of the cultist in Amappdor Keep so she knows a little bit about the void and demons. She even has her own ahriman. IC, she's a SMN who only know how to summon Ifrit-egis, but she has yet to fully tame it. She can also be easily stressed and a little psychotic if pushed over the edge...
  16. "'Ello there! Are you tired? Can't get shite done on yer own? Are ya scared and in need of a personal body guard? Do you or someone else need rescuin'? Or do ya just want a personal trainnin' or sparrin' partner, or even a new ally for life? Then come 'ire one of the 'zerkers ta get all that stuff done for ya!" ~ Chiyo Hoshi Hello! I would like to conduct an auction for mercenaries in the Berserk LS. We are a group of tough individuals who are willing to use our strength and talents to serve YOU (for a small price of course ). The auction will be hosted Sunday, May 10th at Ward 3 of The Golert. From there, our volunteered auctionees will offer themselves to a lucky buyer. From then on, it's up to you to deicide what you want to do with your hired hero. This could make room and opportunities for fun plots and RP for both you and the hirey! For those wishing to sell themselves: You must be in the Berserk linkshell (DoW) if you'd want to be auctioned. Just post or PM me the character you wish to use, his or her talents and a brief description about said character and what you're willing to do for your client (a picture is also nice, but optional). If you're good at gathering or crafting, you can also mention that as well! Q & A: Q: Do we have to spend actual gil? A: No, the entire thing will be done IC but you still can if you want. All I ask though is for you to take it easy on the prices you offer, please don't immediately shout over 9,000 gil (sorry) right out of nowhere. The bids will start at around a 100 gil, depending on who's getting sold. The gil will go directly to the person being bought. Q: Can we ERP? A: That's not really the point of this. We're mercenaries, not prostitutes. However, if you two (or 3, whatever) grew attach to each other at some point, then by all means. I'll leave it up to the auctionees if they want to it or not. Q: How many can we buy? A: Depends on how many we're selling. If we have enough, I may allow two per buyer. Q: What if I'm evil and want to use them as henchmen/assassins? A: Most of the 'zerkers (that I know of at least) are aligned good so you might wanna be careful on that aspect. You can still try and buy us but for IC reasons, you might not be able to if we don't trust you, but your true intentions can be kept secret. Again, how you use the actual rp is up to you guys. No metagaming, please. Q: How long are they allow to serve us? A: Two (ic) weeks generated or your money back! Questions or comments? Post here!
  17. I was just thinking about making one of my alts the anti-hero. Can Riven Stars be apart of this? I'd like to give it a shot.
  18. Decided that I'll make her an SMN in training. Thanks guys. Anyone who's interacted with Stars before can just forget about her being a WHM.
  19. I honestly missed that part in the WHM story-arc. Oh well. Gilgamesh is fairly forgiving anyway and I remember running into a few whitties ic beforehand...
  20. Meh, I'd still like to have one or the other to make things less complicated. I dunno if I wanna make Stars that tight anyway. She's at her early/mid 20s and has had a good enough education. From what I've heard though, Summoners are only able to tame egi's by defecting primals. I don't know how I feel about her fighting them yet. I'll still level them up both, but I'll just used one of them ooc.
  21. I'm in the process of deciding whether my alt character, Riven Stars should be in-character. I don't wanna be both though since that would seem Mary-sueish. IC so far, she is an archaeologist with a somewhat sarcastic personality, and is somewhat interested in necromancy. Currently, she is a WM, but I'm thinking about changing it.
  22. Xi! If it's not too late, can I have my alt, Riven Stars take Chiyo's place? I'd feel as though I haven't giving her enough attention.
  23. You guys were awesome! Thank you all some much for the support even if you weren't able to make it. It means a lot. Stay tuned for more manly (and womanly) events here at Berserk! For those who wish to host a second Berserk gathering (for those who didn't make it), you have my permission. It doesn't have to be at the same place either. You can set up your own rules and activities to your liking.
  24. So this is what you were talking about earlier. Good idea, Riley.
