  1. I'm less worried about the elitist communities (those exist everywhere) and more worried about what server the Goons roll on
  2. I'm surprised that so far there are NO negative comments for the article (yet)! It really seems like we either have moles in the general population or people are starting to get interested in RP! I hope this brings in the curious first timers!
  3. There is. Generally speaking you can go by popularity of FF games. I'm surprised Wutai isn't in the lead solely because it hails from VII >.>;; That or everyone is avoiding it because of that reason. I didn't vote for it because I can't...stand...Yuffie >.< I have no problem rolling my main on the RPC server, whatever it may be. But there is no way anyone can stop me from having a character on Mysidia!
  4. I thought we were supposed to try and avoid the obviously popular servers (/joke)? Gysahl, Wutai, and Lindblum are all going to be full to the brim at release based on the popularity of the games they're from. Everyone and their mother will recognize those names Oh well, EVERYONE VOTE FOR MYSIDIA! From the BEST Final Fantasy ever created ^_^v
  5. Due to time constraints and the delayed release of the PS3 version affecting 2/3 of our Company, we will be adopting a Casual RP style of play until further notice. This will in no way affect KOC's lore, guild members, numbers, etc. We hope this will be able to bring in more PC members that are too worried or do not have enough time for heavier RP and to eventually return to a Moderate RP style of play. Feel free to contact me directly for more information pertaining to this update or anything related to KOC.
  6. Oh how I LOVE Nobuo Uematsu!! I consider his work on to be the pinnacle of his career. I'm also digging the direction XIV is taking . The battle music is the best.
  7. I think one day is just fine for this kind of vote. You might want to consider a link to ffxiv-status.com once the names go live to give a reference to voters. I do need clarification on one thing: Server names in the beta are going to be the server names in retail since you'll be able to rollover your name to the retail server?
  8. Remember, SE stated multiple times there would be other quest systems besides the main story and guildleves. I honestly don't think SE is going to leave us without stuff to do since that's counter productive for a MMO. It'll be interesting to see what SE decides to do when open beta starts on Monday! I also agree with handling my MP. It was no problem at all. Besides having a decent pool to start with, you have (for conjurers) Radiance which refills MP based on the damage it inflicts, and Tranquility which gives you roughly 50% MP every 30 minutes. Full blown aetheryte crystals and smaller nodes are plentiful on the map and usually only a five minute run in between each so it's not very hard to refill your HP and MP. Just remember that you cannnot refill during leves , but I understand that's part of the challenge.
  9. It's still invite only, or if you have a previous beta key SE will send you a new one before the open beta starts. It's not a mass demo either, it just means the NDA is no longer in effect (for such things as videos and whatnot that were still banned in phase 3).
  10. Yes, since crafters are their own class. I got a lot more EXP versus SP while crafting. Rank ups took just slightly longer than DoW and DoM classes I tried out.
  11. You have a skill rank that goes up when you gain skill points, and a physical level that goes up when you gain experience points. You're not crazy Also, I didn't intend to say they were right about what they said, just that they were justified in their emotions. But then again I guess, if you look back on it, they brought this on themselves by not explaining everything. However, my opinion has drastically changed since they've explained the system (somewhat) especially the point that your fatigue slowly resets when not in combat. Also, the "timer" is based off of the amount of skill/experience points you gain and not really time at all. It makes a lot more sense to me and now I really don't think I'll ever need to worry about hitting 0% gains.
  12. Admin edit: Links removed again. Veiled barbed attacks against the RPC on other sites is a no-no.
  13. Oh I totally agree and I plan on having so much fun my head will be spinning! But the attitude from "hardcore" gamers is that this system sucks, has already ruined the game, and they've all canceled their preorders *eyeroll* to go back to WoW *even bigger eyeroll*. All because it encourages doing other things in game besides rushing to end game and level cap on one class or getting off your arse and doing something IRL. I see no problem with that especially with MMO addiction becoming very big in the media. Besides like I said, it never really affected me and I found other stuff to do when I became "fatigued" or ran in to Surplus skill. I also think SE has every right to be pissed about western fansites and media outlets. This game is the product of their sweat, blood, and maybe tears, their child. People are seriously slamming it without proper knowledge and the game isn't even out yet! Oh well, I totally loved every minute of phase three which means I'll love retail even more
  14. FYI "Fatigue" and Surplus Skill are two different things. "Fatigue" only affects Physical EXP while Surplus only affects skill points. Having said that I really hope the RPC doesn't degrade like certain fansites I've disowned until this all blows over. I never had it abnormally affect me during phase 3 at six hours a day, and I doubt this will adversly affect anyone seriously RPing. /my two gil
