And this would be...

Well, all I can say is I hope you choose Balmung! Would be great to encounter you in game, a very warm welcome to you! (Oh, and we have an incredible influx of fellow European’s here)

Great stuff, hope to see you in game!

Oh yes, eyeing them up is always a great ice breaker in Roleplay. Not always the case in real life, but here, most certainly! All jokes aside, there are two ways you can go about it which are received differently between roleplayers. I myself usually make my presence known by doing something alone as my character or just, as you say, examine the situation which displays that you are up for joining in with their consent. For example… Gene Hunt strolls through the pub, paying very little attention to those around him before hearing Sam Tyler’s comment. He smirks as he sits down at the bar, slamming his fist upon the counter to gain the bartender’s attention as he listens further… There is also the second option, which some people aren’t too fond of. It all depends on the roleplayer, I for one have no problem at all being approached this way, it sometimes makes for more fun and cuts straight to the chase. Instant interaction, be it interest in their clothes, over hearing the conversation and chiming in, a pat on the back whilst agreeing with what a character just said or just asking a question. You don't have to be overly polite in considering yourself a possible annoyance for approaching people in character, no roleplayer should banish you for want of joining in. You always encounter that one bloke, who’s either drunk or just confident within himself in a bar that claps you on the shoulder and talks to you as though you've been best mates for years. My character is much like this, though again some people see it as an intrusion and shrug you off. You’ll never know until you’ve tested the waters and never be disheartened if that’s the case, take it as your character would take it, adapt to your roleplay surroundings! As for whispering, I think it is /tell

Sadly, due to a family issue, I’m being summoned back to the land of fields and sheep this weekend which unfortunately means no access to my computer. Regrettably I’m going to miss the event, though I do hope to encounter you all at some point when I return! Hope you have a fantastic time folks!

Couldn't have put it better myself, you've really put a lot of thought into this! I will most certainly use it within my roleplay as law (or rather reluctance to follow law) plays a fair hand in my characters story. Hats off to you for a job well done!

I’ve had numerous text-based fights which often don’t play out so well for my character. Granted, he’s quite talented as an escape artist, and when the going gets tough his ability to find good hiding places is unmatched. But when there’s no way out it comes down to good communication. I always talk to the opponent; often it’s been someone I know though it has worked several times before with strangers. We briefly assess the possible outcomes, by briefly I mean very briefly so we don’tlose the heat of the moment. But more importantly we discuss limitations; I’ve always found that to be the most important. Nothing worse than seeing “Bob brings down his sword upon Jeff’s hand; cutting it clean off” followed by “((Bugger off!))” I do like to include a bit of risk to the situation, which is why I tend to add rolling into the mix of text (providing it's been agreed upon). We usually do this towards the end of the battle so that it doesn't turn into a series of *evade* and *blocks*.

See, I’ve never truly understood what a ‘Sue’ was until I just did some research on the subject. When I create characters I find the thing that makes them special is character progression. There is nothing more rewarding, more exhilarating, than having a character start at one point and through roleplay, discover new aspects about the character you never even considered. How they deal with love, loss, danger, things which every normal human beings struggle with. The stories we create with our characters is what makes them special in the end. My main character was just that, he crawled his way out of the gutter and fell into numerous chains of events which formed him into the person he is today. Neither strong with a sword, nor especially important, as a matter of fact I enjoy having him fail in his endeavours more than anything purely for humour sake. I’ve got to be completely honest when I say, in the past, I tended to back away from characters who could never be defeated, had powers that no one else possessed or in one particular case, played characters which just shouldn’t be, like a Maiar from Tolkien’s world on LOTRO. I just found it awkward, and when lore is being torn to pieces I suppose it did bother me. Do I instantly dislike the roleplayer behind the character and think less of them for their choice? Not in the slightest, we just clashed on point of view. I am new to the lore of Eorzea though realise there are many opportunities for characters to be powerful. Given the fact that those with a magical background are quite common, there is a large amount of opportunity to expand on that. So long as the character’s unique abilities aren’t forced upon me and it is played responsibly I’d have no problem roleplaying with said character in the slightest.

I’ve just got everything crossed for “Address several known issues” meaning, “Booting system for AFKers”

My heart shattered into athousand pieces when I discovered you weren’t on Balmung. It looks fantastic!

Is it a little bit creepy that I’m willing to make that sacrifice?

"Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Forlorn" I’ll always remember years ago when Left for Dead 2 was delayed and the forums were spammed with ‘Left for Delayed 2’ and various other altered titles. Then Gabe of Steam delayed it an hour more every time someone made a fat joke apparently.

Ah yes, the outfit system of LOTRO, gone but most certainly not forgotten. How I miss thee…

I am a very strange case of Roleplayer. For some bizarre reason I feel the need to have reached the cap or at least obtained some amazing looking outfits before I can start roleplaying. Don’t ask me why, that must be my reward at the end, my end game. On Final Fantasy XIV however, I’ve decided to throw that old-time tradition out of the window, I’ve just not got round to it yet. I’ve hit 30 and made myself a Paladin, as soon as the servers sort themselves out I’ll be putting all of my effort into getting Remis out there and meeting new people. That and I need to search for a Free Company of like-minded roleplayers, I need to do some research.

What is going on this morning?

It took me exactly one hour and fifteen minutes of num pad 0 spam, lobby rebooting and copious amounts of patience to get in today. Honestly, if you’d ask me I’d say it was worth it. The lobby is indeed very misleading. It will tell you that the servers are down, it will boot you, and it would have you believe that your character no longer exists. Resume the struggle and fight it my friends, once more into the breach! (Disclaimer, after listening to 5 second snippets of the same menu music over the time it would take to fly to Barcelona, my mind may have been addled somewhat, my apologies.)
