I lol'd when I got killed in one shot by a goat standing outside the city entrance. Other than that I don't really have an issue with anything yet. The targeting in combat has a learning curve, and coming from WoW I really miss my jump. Running into dividers in town and not being able to jump over them is bothersome. "look its a hand rail. I'll be the gentleman and go around" But really I just want to jump over it.

With more people in the coalition, I thought I'd revive this thread to get another look at where everyone is. Also noticing I haven't said I'm in the US in central time so that's GMT-6 However, due to my scheduled I normally play in the AM hours (while the kid is at school).

The benchmark worries me. My score is around 700-800 on low. While I'm sporting 3g of RAM a 1G Radeon HD 5770. and a 2.8 dual core. Maybe my math is off, but I thought my box was up to snuff.

Oh ok. I was thinking more along the lines of navigating menus. The stamina bar seems more like a resource management learning curve we will have work with. It gives us more time to pause and say "That is a really ugly monster"

Looking over "several" post about the controls with the keyboard and mouse. Have any of the testers here tried the game with a controller? I noticed in the beta manual it's actually recommended. Does it change the feel of the game? I can imagine the hassle of setting down the controller to type will turn off many RPers. However if it makes Battles flow better there are a few that will keep one on the side to use.

This varies greatly. Assuming the "virus" or what ever that started the apocalypse doesn't have any preserving effects, the human body would have decayed past the point of moving in thirty days. Then you get the deal with the dystopian world left behind for years till government and order is restored. On the other hand the "virus" alts decomposing.... I vote nuclear winter.

My zombie plan is the same as "Dawn of the Dead" make for the harbor, hijack a boat. Total pirate from there just raid small towns for supplies. The wife and I are big Renaissance fair fans so we have the chain mail, a few swords and a battle ax. For transportation I'd agree with the Motor bike or even a mountain bike for high mobility and fuel consumption.

I know it's a large request, but I search and couldn't find anything. Would it be possible for those in beta to compile a short list of sample racial names in game. Just a short list of five or so of each race to see what the names are like in-game. There are a few samples in the "[City-States] Shops of Limsa Lominsa" thread. I've noticed that most of the Lalafell have names starting with double syllables like Zuzudesu..... ( I loved that one Desu.) And that the Miqo'te have apostrophed names. This might go well in the library forum for those still fleshing out characters and have not landed on a name yet.

Hello, I was wondering wither the creative center of this community would be interested in making some FFXIV films. I've been reading a few threads here and apparently there are a lot of writers here and I'm sure a few can do some directing and Video editing, including myself. With the customization of characters and all the emotes added a few shorts would be fun to do.
