Lost River

Keep trying now, I was able to get in on my second try.. although it was a crazy queue after. The JP players are slowly piling out as it's getting close to midnight for them.

Now I made it in... sitting in my inn room, watching the Duty Finder counter. No Levequests left, no quests left, story is set at, you guessed it, Dungeons. *sighs* I got tired of spamming "ARC LFG". >.

If you ever go to Balmung I'd be more than happy to play with you as well! Also, you can hook up a keyboard and a mouse to the PS3 and play. I suggest just the keyboard, they haven't added the ability to change to hot-bar yet for PS3. So controller and keyboard ahoy!

Japanese servers went down, so those who were playing on said servers that made characters on the NA/EU servers dog piled onto those.

Seeing that many parts of the story is focused on large events that center around a single character instead an overarching group effort, I would rp the main story as the heroes are NPCs and rumors. Grand Companies can be RP'd at least as it involves the whole of the community if they wish for a military backing.

(Hehe, quite the interesting read. You should bump into one of my characters, Lost River definitely. She's quite the 'interesting' character, to say the least. :3)

Time to start me a catperson harem. Males and Females. But not for usual intended purposes of sexy time. Just dress them in butler and maid uniforms. Give them each a special weapon type and set forth the adventures of Lost River and her cat-people servant mercenaries corp. On topic, quite interesting. I am wondering what the other species (aka, non-kitties) are. Hyur is typical, Elezen and Roegadyn perhaps easily, but the Lalafell. That's interesting territories!

This is sadly the murky waters we tread with such a discussion, especially when it calls for sciences that are speculative at best due to no hard evidence to follow with the scientific process; even in a hypothetical approach to it, we're not given enough information prior by the developer of said race for the game; so a fill in the blank and speculation is what is called for. I find it an interesting take on something, not accurate and not inaccurate, it's a speculative take on the process in a fun way to show it as if a biologist would approach when going for a more laymen's terminology as to 'why'. No right or wrong answers in this, just theories and speculation in itself... which apparently has spurned a debate (which is good) that has evolved into "I'm right, you're wrong." bit (which is bad). In short, we don't have enough data provided to follow up fully with the scientific theory. I believe this article should be locked as it's slowly being derailed into the abyss.

Well, Lost has a Hyur raised Miqo'te she affectionately calls Mow Mow. It's quite cute and strange all at the same time. Lost is well... lost for a lack of better word. A Hellsguard Roegadyn who's skilled with the bow and the arcane and lives at sea. Trans location is quite fun!

Seeing as my Roegadyn likes Miqo'te and Lalafell, it might as well happen; she has a weakness for things she considers cute, almost to a child like level; it'd be quite hilarious to see how Lost River would take the approach. Can end up doing the whole "Your Majesty." "Raubahn." type approach too. Lost may not be a Highlander, but she's as strong as any other Roegadyn worth their salt. And speaking of Lalafell, I wanted to make one, but I can't find -any- hairstyle close to the awesomeness of the Sultana's. Echolocation for a Duskwight? So, they're the Elezen version of Dare Devil from Marvel Comics? As for the Miqo'te sniffing... that'd be quite interesting, walk up from a long day and then a curious Miqo'te walks up and starts sniffing you to find the scent of whatever you were doing. Awkwardness and hilarity will ensure.

Now with all said and done, I wonder what a psychologist's point of view for a given race would be. Or to do one of other races, sure it isn't canon as SE hasn't given much information other than some basic tid-bits for us all to fill in. Now if they start writing books like some other MMO companies (I know SE isn't a MMO company, but has a division), mayhap we'll learn some more!

Perhaps they are the bridge between beast tribes and the others. A nice middle-ground for both types of sentiments to be blended together!

I'm also curious about social ecology of said Miqo'te; also for example, if one was said reared by a non-Miqo'te parentage as this feels more like an "in their native habitat" sort of approach with less focus on sentient thought and more of primal urges.

Quite an interesting take on how Miqo'te are... Lost River may need to stay away or be drawn closer to that one! My character Lost River (Hellsguard Roegadyn) finds Miqo'te adorable and Lalafell also, to the point of wanting to pick them up and squeeze them like a pet. Ahem. As I redouble myself, an interesting read!

Precisely! It's why Lucinne is going to be a Paladin/Warrior. She's mastering the heavy armed combat to better protect others and herself. It's her driving passion to show she isn't a stereotypical Duskwight.

As with others here, I suspect it all revolves around with what you want to do with the character.

I'm fine with anything as long as it doesn't end up 'marry-sue' the character. My character Lucinne? She will be a Paladin/Warrior. Sure, two jobs, but those are the two most aspects that'd both define her as a being. Other than that growing learning profession of the two, everything else would be considered OOC.

As with others, there is always growing issues when a MMO launches; they're massive beasts, just like Elder Scrolls games for example, a whole lot of things happen.. and in the case of MMOs it tends to be either client or server as a whole; I'm glad they're working on expanding it, they never would have expected that all of their servers or at least most would have a max pop... And that's 230K per server. There are 50 servers I believe, do the math. :3
