By the Twelve! We are getting /doze in 2.1!
N'taeyl replied to Erik Mynhier's topic in RP Discussion
Am I missing where to see this/these dreaded /sleep emotes that aren't really sleep? I probably don't want to anyway. My only complaint about this "sexuality", for any race actually, is that I have no choice not to be. My character is a careless tomboy, emotes won't let that happen. I think what most people complain about is that there ISN'T an option NOT to be, otherwise I'd be checking all the sexy catgirls out, and anything else sexy. But, someone link me where to see these bed emote things? -
Calming the Inner Beast- 2.1 patch warrior buffs
N'taeyl replied to Zac Evans's topic in FFXIV Discussion
I'm personally very happy with the buffs, but a little confused why they added in extra enmity gain? I've never had a problem keeping hate, even with subpar gear compared to relic users until they went full blown, and that's the gears fault. I don't know Paladin quite as well but with the extra damage reduction it helps put them on equal grounds, but now with enmity gain does it tilt in favor of Warriors now? And it'll keep going back and forth with each patch...I hope not. -
I want to see more Roegadyn roleplayers too, and I actually have a male one I enjoy running around with. Hooweeverrrr, it's a pain in the ass to be leveling a second character COMPLETELY cut off from support of my main, and my main character has more development I'm more devoted to at the moment. But if you're just dying to find a roe dude to bro around with for some reason hit me up.

Well here's another one I did last night. As I was musing my thoughts about going to a con next year, I said into Balmung's Finest: "It's more fun being dressed up..."

I forgot about this one, and watched it again to see if it was still funny from 5 years ago:

Finally I'm not the first person to post this! >.> I'm totally INFJ, and the first time I took this a couple years ago I scoffed at it, even though I enjoy the results for fun. This turned out to be 100% accurate for me and made me feel better about being a rare type, because my brain works way weird than everyone elses. http://www.personalitypage.com/INFJ.html I can't even really quote parts that apply to me, because it all does, and I've even had one incident of the psychic nature (And no, this wasn't crazy). Of course, some people find their results only somewhat accurate, though the 30 ish people I've had take it say it's 95%+ accurate for them. Regardless of its reliability, it's interesting! There is also this test you can take for something different, but you must be as honest with your answers as you can be: http://personality-testing.info/tests/JUNG.php

I actually did this once on Second Life. If any of you have played it, you know the new people who find the Glow portion of the customization the best part of their wardrobe or avatar, and they're a freakin lightbulb. I'm on skype with some friends, and I see this dragon that is just glowing everything at maximum, and it's EXTREMELY obnoxious. So I start ranting off about the freak, and somehow the SL viewer's microphone turned on for me, and everyone, including the freak, heard me. So I quietly turned my mic off and decided to apologize in chat, turns out he wasn't even listening, but I told him he looks insane. Him: What do you mean? Me: Your dragon is glowing like a light bulb, turn your settings up Him: OH GAWD YOU AREN'T KIDDING Turns out I did him a favor?

I've been on the receiving end of someones naughty session and got a very...detailed.../tell once. In the middle of a Dynamis run, that was entertaining. I've always been very careful about mistells, if I've ever had any I've quickly erased them from memory. But recent on XIV I did one in the middle of the Ul'dah market area that, taken seriously and out of context, may have labeled me as a potential racist. AND I'M NOT! It's bad enough I don't feel like explaining it here, but the mortification made me run off and hide. I just hope the RMT spam and half awake people didn't notice! And if any of you saw that pretend you didn't?

Well, this cemented my determination to never touch a crag weapon.

Should gamers be accountable for in-game war crimes?
N'taeyl replied to Mongoose's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
tl;dr all the posts, can't be assed to detail a response to this besides: Have fun watching your game sales tank (HAH?) if someone actually implemented this. Quit trying to run with 'video games teach kids violence', and blame bad parenting and lack of accountability in this day and age. I don't think this was about introducing more reality to games, that was just the most convincing excuse they could conjure up. At least I don't play real world war games. -
I think there's a little too much analyzing going on here. While it's not all incorrect, the "hardcore players" or whatever they call themselves don't get RP and think it's silly, they're gonna act immature. That's all there is to it. We should expect it and just deal with it as maturely as possible. And if you have to, let go of your pride and just teleport away. It doesn't make them more powerful, it's all in their thick skulls and you can peacefully continue on, unless you need to use the area ect such and such. It's not about who wins or not.

I may have to watch Shin Sekai Yori, if I had a merciful internet. Sometimes the agonizing ones make for the best stories. And speaking of agonizing, my current obsession is the ever popular Attack on Titan, anime and manga. Normally I'm a huge critic for movies/stories/series of any kind, I'll tack on a rant with my compliments, but this series has me captivated. My ONLY complaint is how Ymir is represented in the anime, and that Nyancat voices her...I think she does anyway? Editing this as they come to mind or I read the thread (because it really matters and I can't remember what I've seen >_>) My favorites: Trigun, Outlaw Star, Gundam Wing, Canaan, FLCL, Tenchi Muyo (Universe) The Ghibli movies of course. Manga, nothing really noteworthy. I keep up with Naruto, because it's like a bad car wreck you can't stop watching.

While I do agree with this, isn't it their job to cater to what we want? They're offering up their work to entice us into buying it. I really don't think someone is going to make an oozing flatulent octopus race and demand we like it or play a different game and put that on the market. Not that extreme of course, but the industry is about catering to the most people right? So they put in a buncha sexy cat girls, especially since the main target is Japan. They also probably knew most Mithra in XI were dudes. I've always been one to complain about how sexualized, or girly, my characters are represented. (I refuse to use the sit on my Miqote <_<) I also know that I'm a small percentage of most female players so I deal with it for the most part. The sexuality portrayed by the NPCs in question I think is more fan service than actual logic and lore. There may be, or is, lore explaining why Sun Miqote are more promiscuous, and it seems the entire race is by nature anyway, but it's not worth discussing logically. All we can do is complain about how sex sells.

Just throwing in my two cents here. I can definitely see where some of the grief comes from for a potentially abused item, but there is no indication this item will ever become available again, as far as I understand. Not that many people are going to make a total race change, and if they want to it's probably because they weren't very satisfied with the race they chose and didn't get too invested in the lore of that race to roleplay anyway. I don't see this one time offer devastating the RP scene for now, and I guess if it ever becomes available again let's just hope it's really expensive and rare or something? And if you do find someone who's race changing like polyjuice potion just avoid them. Same as you would for asses that roleplay just to be a jerk.

Joining in is like finding a small group of people taking about your favorite subject in real life, except with less judgmental stares and more welcoming gestures. The RP community of any game I've found is much friendlier than the typical gamers, never hurts to just ask if you can start up with them. Or if you emote things standing alone somewhere you might catch someones attention. Either way, welcome to the next five years of your life! Or part of the five years, hopefully.

I can't seem to find any posts or comments about it, so direct me if I missed it. Does anyone know if there will be a Hydaelyn Viewer for this game? Like Altana Viewer for XI. I don't know anything about how it was made or whatever, I just know I loved playing with it and making signatures and graphics.

Eh, I don't usually write intros but I do love junking up my profiles, so why not? Refugee from getting bored on GW2 (Tarnished Coast) and missing my old FFXI crew, I come to XIV in search of attaining pixel gears that look awesome and delving more into roleplay. I've only just started RP on GW2, but have been into writing stories or coming up with background stories for my characters for a long time. On XI I was Saikotic on Asura for three years, and Abyssea was only good for letting me try out PUP and putting the game to rest for good. Want more? Find me in game.

I was on GW2 since the first beta, ended up on Tarnished Coast too and started RPing there. What was your characters name? The RP there was getting stale, with an overcrowding of humans and nobles and House guilds freakin' everywhere.

Didn't see this was a duplicate thread
