  1. Hey, is this Linkshell still active? I've got a character who'd definitely fit the theme and it'd be fun to be able to RP out the back end of the aspect (talk business and the like).
  2. While I don't see nearly as many Dragoons as I do Monks these days, the Dragoons I do see actually tend to do really good. There are of course the occasional Derpgoons who can't seem to figure out that Enemy AoEs = Dead and just stand in the middle of everything without a care in the world, but they've been the minority for me. Keep in mind I really only play End Game these days, as well. Now, I haven't been to Coil yet (doing my first run tomorrow), but in everything else I've seen Dragoons excel. I've seen numerous Titan HM groups ask specifically for Dragoons, as well as several PuGing Coil groups. The OP is right in that they don't have as many utility skills as the other DPS classes, but they really seem to me (who has never played a Dragoon, mind) to pack more raw damage than anyone else. When it comes to protracted fights, Monks do seem to pull ahead, but not by that much. Bards already get that, actually. Most just ignore it by going into settings and clicking the "face target when firing" toggle. I specifically had to turn that setting off when I was running Titan because the auto-facing would change my dodging direction and get me killed more often than not. The only reason that works for Bards over anyone else is because all of their attacks are "Instant Cast" with range, so it's kind of the perfect storm there. I'd get into my opinion on Bards, but I don't want to derail the thread anymore than I already have.
  3. If you're still looking for people, feel free to look me up! In game I'm Graceful Song.
  4. First off, I have to say that the whole Chocobo with a Flux Capacitor concept is brilliant, and more-so is your daughter's reasoning as to why it wouldn't work. That line itself made my day. I really like this idea. If you're married to the concept of Time Travel, this is a very elegant way of going about it. Plus, then you don't have to worry about keeping an eye on the fuzzy memory shtick. If she's from an alternate universe/timeline, then anything could have happened in her past. Eorzea could have been invaded by a dimension-hopping squad of SHINRA Soldiers or whatever. At that point, the daughter character's history would only have to follow the vaguest sense of logic and, if whatever she says comes out as too weird or crazy it can easily be brushed off as embellishing her own background to impress others.
  5. Hey everyone! My name's Soahl and I've been running around FFXIV for three or four days now. While I've got some intensive background in RPing (Been doing so in MMOs for nearly two decades now, not to mention the tabletop and LARPing) I'm approaching this one from a new angle: That of a college student. Time management shall be my ultimate rival. It'll be a bit before I actually get into RPing. I need to find armor I actually like and get a feel for the background and lore of this setting, but if I'm around and you'd like to chat, hit up a dungeon, or whatever feel free! My main (and likely only character) is named Reese Marshall.
