  1. Oh ok I was totally unaware that SE was doing this. That's pretty sweet, really.
  2. Also it would be EXTREMELY cool if there was something out there that actually used Flash or something to present the journal as an actual book that you could flip through the pages but you could still, as the admin, add your entries easily. However I don't know flash at all...
  3. I'm seriously considering setting up an IC journal for Asytra. I had a lot of fun using the Captain's Log feature in STO and I think that it would be fun for Asytra to keep a journal of her travels. I'm hoping it could help fuel my creative spark and get me back to making 3D things too. I'm just not really sure what sites are best for this sort of thing? Ideally I would like to have these features... -A layout that looks like an old book and you have your entries on the pages -A font that others can see that looks like handwriting though is still readable -Ability to have other sections (Books, in my case, I may keep another one for crafting) A comment feature might be nice but comments would be OOC obviously, I wouldn't anyone be scribblin' in muh books!!! If anyone can help me out with finding a site I would be much appreciative!
  4. Hehe I saw your name when I registered and did a double take and was crossing my fingers you wouldn't be upset that they were similar. Sides, maybe the naming is a Miqo'te thing? ==
  5. I haven't found a way... :\ I wanted to find a way to run two different fullscreen apps. Most notably, full screen video on one screen and a game on the other. Sometimes I watch the MST3k channel on Justin.tv when I'm just doing something repetitive in an MMO...
  6. Why would the game be designed to crash when you alt-tab? :? SE does do really dumb things sometimes....though. I use two screens and multitask a lot but I despise windowed for gaming... And no Asyria... if you are fullscreen on one screen Windows automatically alt-tabs you if you switch to the other screen. It's infuriating and it's a "feature" of Windows.
  7. Anyone else get this problem? It kinda blows cause I can't mess with my GrooveShark stuff while I'm playing. :\
  8. Just officially preordered the CE! I still had $20 credit from buying Red Dead Redemption on Amazon.com and release date shipping was only $.99 for me so since Amazon doesn't charge you tax it ended up being $56 for me. :cheer: I swear there's no point to go to Game Stop anymore... sides the only one in my town is in a mall that doesn't open till 10am and never does midnight releases. Also what happend to that tumbler cup thingie? I thought that was in the CE?
  9. So I noticed that you can save your character creation settings and there are several slots for you to save them to. Will those saves be transferable to retail?
  10. The only thing that worries me is server over-crowding, mostly because I experienced this first hand with SWG. I had been involved in the SWG RP community, doing forum RPs, for nearly a year before the game hit beta. The community decided on Starsider then at launch due to SOE's incompetence loads of people were locked out. While I was able to create a character, the WHOLE of my guild which I was running at the time couldn't make a character there because SOE locked creation on that server. So loads of people went to Kettemoor and it effectively fractured the RP community. There were still great communities on both and I did RP on both servers, I actually RP'd as mirror universe type reflection of my main character on Kett. Still it was a crappy thing for a great community to go through.
  11. I think so too. Radio Free Zion did a lot of things for The Matrix Online before SOE pulled the rug out from under everyone. Communities respond to IC news type things, even if they're non-RPers. It's good for everyone!
  12. It might also be neat to have a classified section, as well as perhaps a merchant section where crafters could take out IC ads and have a short description of the wares they specialize in as well as where their market is usually set up.
  13. I'm really really looking forward to this!!! I'm a sucker for this type of thing. It's why I became an obsessive book collector in Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion, as well as purchasing CEs and coveting manuals that are written more or less "In Character" and tell you things about the world. Will there be a section where we can write in as our characters and have editor response? That might be fun. Oh as for the Tonberry, if we find out there are none in game... perhaps that one was the last of his kind?
  14. I've been trying to get into this beta for a LOOONG time as I was really interested in seeing what the Miqo'te were like. I've been wanting to play a "neko" in a AAA MMORPG and this is really the first one that's got it right. I know FFXI had the Mithra but they were more beast-like than a traditional neko, which is cool, I like that Square tries to do new things now and then. It seems to me that the Miqo'te take some inspiration from the Native Americans which I find really cool. (I.E. Were predominantly nomadic tribes-people that followed the herds they hunted, good with shortbows, etc... even the name sounds like it... ) Anyways upon getting in and after that first intro cutscene and running around the starter city for the first time I was totally hooked. When I saw characters give facial expressions conveying convincing emotions in in-game cutscenes I was even more hooked. I love all the clothing options, they are all so well done and move so realistically. Then I tried the gathering mini-games and now I've totally fallen for it. The gameworld is SO packed full of detail. Just all the little things I keep noticing gives me a magical feeling, something that as an MMO vet I haven't felt in years. Maybe not since when I got my YT-1300 in pre-CU SWG and decorated it up for an RP hub for a group of friends... The combat seems fine to me but I've only got a few abilities so I can't really tell. I DO love that you are "locked on" to your target and because of this it actually appears that you are hitting, and being hit by the enemy. This is something sorely lacking from MMOs. My biggest complaints have to do with the unfriendly UI and lack of hardware cursor. I'm not sure how I feel about the XP system, but the penalty seems unfair to paying subscribers. Since I am planning on taking three jobs out the door I will have my mits full but I don't like a system that has lots of people reconsidering a purchase of what seems to be one of the better MMOs that's come out in a very long time. I also hate hate hate UI and crafting lag. I really hope this gets fixed before release.
