  1. Limsa all the way. Of course, since the Open Beta is my first time playing I'm not as burned on it as those who were in the closed Beta
  2. On Skype as Tyriont. Such a shockingly unlikely name for me to use, I know. Once I get a replacement PSU for my system it'll be up and running again.
  3. Ah, democracy. The thing so touted around the world, the thing held up as a shining example...the thing everyone loves until you realize that not everyone agrees with you and your guy/choice/whatever lost. Didn't like Besaid. Voted Trabia myself. Don't care. Because y'know what? I believe that the Venn diagram of "people who won't roll on a server because that name is 'teh ghey'" and "people who would likely grief RPers" would look almost like a single damn circle. Hell, the hatred most people have for FFVIII is half the reason I voted Trabia in the first place, figured we'd encounter less trolls that way. Of course, those complaining about a troll should, y'know...stop feeding it >.> Personally, I'm not so sure BloodHecate is a troll...I don't think these posts are made specifically to stir up trouble, she's just over-reacting and expressing the point poorly. I kinda see where she's going with the "if x then y" bit, but I'm also concerned about the fact that she's gonna hurt herself jumping off a slippery slope so quickly like that. In fact, I have the perfect solution to the problem. Castiel, here's what you do. Install a filter in the forum (just like the profanity filters on some boards) that automatically changes Besaid to Fluffywuffymuttonchops. Regardless of the actual server name, that shall be what we refer to it as. Because Ren's right, that's an awesome name. The Ty has spoken. So shall it be written, so shall it be done. Oh, also? Kinky. Quiet, demanding type. Best go along with it, Vareal. Otherwise the whips and chains come out. Unless you like that.
  4. Tyriont

    New Servers!

For what it's worth, Palamecia is the empire from FFII. The primary antagonist is the Emperor of Palamecia.
  5. I made it! Fuck yes! I knew that random urge I had to bring my authenticator with me to work was there for a reason! *happy dance* ...now to get through 8 hours of work before I can use it. But oh well! Happy Ty :D
  6. Obviously only the coolest, sexiest people voted for Trabia since that's also where my vote went
  7. Greg Dean, of reallifecomics.com (who has been putting up a lot of FFXIV-related stuff lately and whose group in FFXI was reasonably large early on) has asked his readers to roll on Kefka.
  8. His Megaman remixes are also made of win. Especially the one for Heatman. Would post links, but I'm at work so look them up yourselves, you lazy gits
  9. Well, Ren is all noble and upstanding and crap to he isn't likely to. However, I'm the co-founder and a pirate. So...yeah. You do the math
  10. I want my gun. *pouts* None of the other classes really suit Ty's character thus far...I'll probably wind up using Marauder or Pugilist just for the hell of it. Likely Marauder for the piratey-ness.
  11. Ren, I demand that we retain Noëlle as arty-type person for Spectral Wardens. We need to get on that.
  12. Altair? As for me, I'm going Elezen because I'm re-using Tyriont as he was in FFXI where he was Elvaan. There, I chose Elezan because they had the best options for long hair on a male as far as I was concerned >.> Once I get into the Open Beta I'll be settling on a final design for him this time around...I was almost tempted to make him blonde instead of black haired this time around, but then he'd look a little too much like me and I'm not sure I want to be that guy >.> In the end, it'll go down to what I think suits him best.
  13. This one was just too easy and appropriate not to use.
  14. I'm impressed! Also jealous of all you artsy types.
  15. Seriously, that's the most adorable I've ever seen Ren look. It's awesome! I agree that you're probably going to start seeing some commission requests come in once open beta starts.
  16. Damn, now that's impressive. We're really collecting quite the group of talent here lately
  17. Damn you. DAMN YOU! I WAS CLEAN, DAMNIT! I WAS CLEAN! I hadn't visited that site in weeks and now this. I'd spend more time cursing you for rekindling this addiction, but I have pages to read. Tyriont Gaidal Chaotic Good - Tyriont to a T. Loveable Rogue - Goes along with the above, this very much fits Ty's view of himself as a "hero to the people", whether the people see him that way or not. Just Like Robin Hood - To really drive that point home Obfuscating Stupidity - Ty doesn't come across as an idiot rather than very laid back and carefree to people outside the crew, which hides the fact that he tends to be very observant and spends a lot of time figuring out who fits together and how. The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything - When you really get down to it, the Phoenix Pirates are more treasure hunters than pirates given how discriminating they tend to be with their targets. When they're not pulling the Robin Hood act, they're this. Deadpan Snarker - Ty often leans towards this. Berserk Button - Harm a member of Ty's crew (or someone else he's placed under his protection out of devotion/loyalty to them) and this will be triggered in a big way. Cool Boat - The Phoenix Flame is one of these. Heterosexual Life Partners - Tyriont has this with Wandering Lion. Papa Wolf - While it does go both ways, Ty is as much this to his crew as they are to him.
  18. Oh dear God. An okie. Oh lawdy lawdy. Where you settled at? For some reason I wanna say Edmond. Oh, hell no. I'm not an Okie. I've only lived here for 4 years, I'm originally from England. Hence my overwhelming wit, charm and awesome accent. And close, but not quite - I'm in Norman.
  19. I simultaneously congratulate those of you who won, while shaking my fist in impotent fury at the fact that I remain beta-less. Not that it matters. According to the timeline in the interview Castiel posted, I might have my system fixed by the time open beta starts anyway
  20. The person to play Ty is an insanely easy choice: Hell, when Firefly came out a number of people I was RPing with in FFXI at the time put me onto the show by pointing out that Mal is basically Ty IN SPACE. As for the rest of the crew...there's only one person who I could ever see playing Wandering Lion. Not just because the body type is fairly restrictive, but he's the only person with enough of a boisterous personality to pull him off: Croix was a little trickier to cast...but in the end I went with someone who I'd also considered for Ty - which works, since Croix is designed to be a much more level-headed counter to Ty. Denavial is...difficult. I think after hunting around a little though, I found someone who can pull off the right mix of creepy, evil and intelligent:
