Thanks Illira. I love the options in this game but I doubt I'll ever be wholly satisfied with any mmo character creation. That's what drawings and imagination are for I guess. T'lamila, he'll kick you in you shins and steal your lunch money while singing a merry tune. I've never tried a Roe. The other races have kinda breezed over my head since I only rp a Hyur and a Miqo'te but I'm working my way down the line with some sketchy stuff just to see how it goes.

Now that you mention it...I've never actually drawn any of the other races.... *scribbles frantically* And so the first Lalafell was born.

UPDATE: TAKING COMMISSIONS I've finally got enough free time and a consistent enough schedule to take on commissions a bit more....well consistently. Starting out slow and cautious to see what I can actually manage while I have some time off coming up and then if there is still interest, I'll go from there. Additional characters are half the original price. Ex. to add a sibling, husband, friends head to a $10 bust sketch would be a total of $15. Will Do: original characters, couples, some gore, etc Won't Do: sexually explicit/graphic. Payment: Paypal is my preferred payment method. I plan to only take payment once I actively begin work on the piece itself. Aside from the sketches, I will show you a rough outline of what I have planned before finalizing it in case there are any last minute adjustments or requests. With digital work, I'm happy to fix smaller, reasonable things but will not fully rework the piece once the sketch is approved. Obviously that will be far less flexible with a traditional medium. Essentially once I am ready to begin your slot, I'll collect an email and invoice you via paypal. Once payment is received, I'll get going. If at any point due to injury or illness etc I am unable to complete a commission, I'll work with people to see if they wish to wait or have me refund them until I can continue. There is a lot of diversity out there as far as the Miqo'te go. Aside from just the Keepers and Seekers themselves, I've seen a lot of rp that shows different groups/families/tribes holding different sets of traditions that are mostly just interwoven with the basic idea of the race. We don't really know a whole lot about the individual nuances (at least that I've found anywhere official as of yet) though the two societies do seem to have some key differences. This is purely based on what I've seen/read/inferred so if anyone has something to add/correct do so please. Keepers: Seem to be more centralized around the females, in the sense that they hold the power and operate on a matriarchal society. So the oldest/wisest female/females call the shots rather than the strongest male. Just based on what official words is out there and the fact that you don't see very many keeper npcs, they seem much more illusive and tend to operate in smaller, traveling groups or families. They don't mingle much with the other races and there are no Keeper settlements like the one in the desert for Seekers. They also seem to share the Duskwight quality of being looked up on in a negative light due to their nocturnal nature. I.E, assumed to be poachers etc. Seekers: Obviously they operate more around the Nunh, who can be challenged by other males for breeding rights. They seem more like lions in truth, less solitary and with the females hunting and providing for the 'family'. The Nunh, once he has his position, is naturally the pride leader and thereby the only one who bears offspring with the females. As many as possible from my understanding. The ability to challenge him allows for stronger bloodlines to continue since it is likely not all young survive the harsh Miqo'te lifestyle. Tia's (any male who isn't the Nunh) can branch off to try to form their own pride/tribe but they need females and it doesn't seem like it would happen often. As for the half breed, my character Orum is in a similar state. The two sides do have some distinct traits that may make such noticeable. Seekers have more cat like slits vs the keepers larger pupils. Keepers have longer canines which actually shows up in most emotes etc. As with most prejudices, I imagine it probably isn't a race wide blanket. At least thus far I haven't seen any in game signs of difficulties between the two factions so I guess we'll have to wait and see. I've been running under the assumption it can vary by family/tribes. Orums keeper family ordered him abandoned but maybe another would simply raise him in the tradition of their own people. I suppose that it could be seen as a genetic disadvantage. For example, Keeper pupils are wider to help with the fact that they are largely nocturnal so maybe a mix may end up with less impressive night vision, thereby not being as efficient a hunter. Depending on if the mother or father is which faction, naming can be tricky. With a Keeper mother, Orum's official Miqo'te name ends up being J'orum'sae Pahjin. Bit of a mouthful if he used it regularly. There are a lot of possibilities out there and quite a bit of freedom to maneuver. Well...I wrote more than I meant to but I hope something helps. My little heart is broken. What makes this more frustrating is that the reasons given behind this whole debacle are likely only going to be worsened (encouraging rmt etc). Maybe I’m just bitter because I am one of those people mentioned above who started 2.0 fresh on Balmung and even 10 million Gil seems like a pipe dream one might have after a bout of food poisoning. Or maybe its because when they say they are basing the cost on the amount of Gil in a server....well, see below and raise your hand if your in that bottom 80% percent that own practically none of all this Gil they speak of. Little late on noticing this thread but everyone knows potted plants are always fashionably late. Since it seemed to stick in the last mmo I played, you can call me Ficus. Feel free to hang ornaments etc. I've been in FFXIV for a few months now but I've been roleplaying in mmo's for about six years and just roleplaying in general for about ten or so. I followed my friend into Balmung to join the masses of other people who might have overly detailed character sheets scratched out on envelopes. I play a level 50 bard named Orumloix Pahjin as well as a few alts in the making. Orums heritage is a sore subject, raised by an Elezen merchant after he was left to die at the age of six by his mothers family. While he is literate and rather well educated over all, he is often more beast than man at heart, living off the land and avoiding major cities. While he can fake 'civil' rather well when it suits him, don't be surprised if you find yourself dealing with his sharp tongue and snapping teeth on most occasions. I would apologize in advance for anyone he backhandedly insults but he scares me. Wiki for Orum I rp quite a bit, though like Orum, I often avoid huge hubs in favor of doing things out on the road etc. However, always more than happy to have him run into others. So feel free to PM me if your ever up for some less civilized encounters. As for my less coordinated, less cat like self, I work quite a bit but in my free time I tend to be drawing or writing something. Terribly exciting I know, but it ain't easy being a Ficus ok?
